Giselle’s POV:
“Guys, I want to tell you something” I said while looking up from my food.
“Say it baby”, Kevin was the first one to reply.
I swallowed hard because I knew what I was going to say now would earn me a disastrous reaction by the triplets.
“It’s a bit embarrassing for me to say it but….” I said in a low voice, but one of the triplets cut me off.
“But?” Riven looked at me with judgy eyes.
“I still couldn’t differentiate between you all just by listening to your voices!” I spoke hurriedly, in one breath.
I closed my eyes and covered my face with the palms of my hands in embarrassment.
“What? You can’t recognize us by our voices?” Kevin repeated after me in shock.
“You can recognize us by looking at our faces, right?” Stefan asked in a curious tone.
“Yeah, but if my back is facing you and you call me, I can’t differentiate between you three. You have identical voices too!” I replied, but still didn’t remove my hand from my face.
“Hmm” was the only reply I got from Riven, in his usual indifferent tone.
For a moment, there was silence in the room until Kevin began to talk.
“Why don’t we do one thing? We can call you with different nicknames and then you can understand who has called you”, Kevin suggested.
“Superb idea!” Stefan excitedly nodded in agreement.
“Can you please elaborate” I asked, and looked at both of them confusedly.
“You see, Giselle. Each one of us will give you a specific nickname and call you by that nickname only, and then you will be able to differentiate between us. Pretty simple”, Kevin explained in a casual tone.
“Oh, that’s a great idea, Kev”. I clapped my hands happily.
“I will call you ‘love’. I was the first one to call you love, love”. Stefan was first one to speak and his tone stubborn, making sure we all knew that he was not going to take ‘no’ for an answer.
“Sure” I replied and gave him a sweet smile.
“Okay, I will go with ‘baby’ then” Kevin replied with equal sweetness.
“Alright”, I smiled back at him.
“What about you, Riven?” Stefan asked curiously and all three of us turned towards him in excitement.
“Umm..?” Riven swallowed, he was a bit taken aback by his sudden question.
He looked a bit tensed. It looked like he was trying to come up with a nickname but his brain stopped working the moment Stefan asked him the question, hence, I decided to speak in his place.
“Sweetheart. He calls me sweetheart. He can continue with that” I replied with a smile. I remember him calling me sweetheart last night.
“You remember it?” He asked in astonishment, but there was a hint of admiration in his cold eyes.
“Yes” I replied, smiling brightly.
He patted my head like a puppy with an infinitesimal smile and began to eat his food again.
“Am I your puppy?” I asked, even though I knew it was his way of expressing his feelings, but I wanted him to talk more. To express more of his emotions in front of me.
“Nope, you are my Persian cat” he replied with a smile, but didn’t look at me.
Am I a Persian cat? Is he teasing me? How dare he!
I glared at him, but he blissfully ignored me.
“Riven loves the Persian cat”, Stefan spoke immediately when he saw my ice cold glare at him.
I really didn’t believe it. I felt like he was pulling my leg. I know I said that I decided to trust them and give our relationship a chance, but I still can’t forget what happened in the past. That’s why I was being careful at each step.
I was still not completely aware of their likes and dislikes, hence, I decided to confirm it with my most trusted ally again.
I picked up my cell phone from the table and started typing.
“Whom are you texting, love?” Stefan asked in a casual tone, but I was not in the mood to reply.
Not until I was confirmed that they were speaking the truth.
Giselle: Hey, Caleb. Does Riven really like Persian cats?
Caleb: Like??? He loves Persian cats! Riven is freaking obsessed with Persian cats!”
I read the message and glanced at Riven and then Stefan. Both of them were having their breakfast silently when I didn’t speak.
So, were they telling the truth? Maybe I was overthinking. I should trust them.
When I didn’t reply for a while, another notification popped up.
Caleb: But why are you asking this so suddenly?”
Caleb: Your out of the blue questions always shock me!
Giselle: Nothing bro, he just called me ‘Persian cat’, that’s why I asked if he really liked them or he was pulling my leg.
Caleb: Ohhh.
Caleb: He must really like you then. He doesn’t give nick names so easily. He still calls me only ‘Caleb’, not even a brat or something.
His previous statements were spinning in my head.
He really likes me? He does give nicknames so easily? He is obsessed with Persian cats? That means Riven is obsessed with me now?
Caleb: Sis?
Caleb: You there?
Giselle: Yeah, thanks for the info. Talk to you later then.
Caleb: Okay, take care, sis.
The rest of the day was normal. We had little conversations every now and then. They were trying their best to get to know me.
I got my mother’s call for real this time. She asked me how it was going and if I was taking the pills on time.
I called my father. I was missing him. He sounded a bit too concerned about me when he got to know about my trip with the triplets alone. He told me to call him if anyone tries to hurt me.
Now, who will tell my father that I was the one who was trying to satisfy every one of them in a single night?
After a long conversation with my father and promising him that I would call him twice a day, he let me disconnect the call.
I lied on the bed, staring at the ceiling, thinking about my life choices, when I heard a knock on my door.
Knowing it was only triplets and me in the entire lake house, I replied, “Come in.”
The door opened with a thud and a very aggressive Kevin came inside the room.
When I observed the change of expression on his face, I couldn’t help but ask, “What happened, Kevin?”
In reply, he walked towards me and in a fraction of seconds, he was in front of me.
I was about to ask him again but he slammed his lips on mine before saying, “I want you…”
