Giselle’s POV:
“Then the very next day, Erica went missing!” Caleb replied after taking a deep sigh.
“What? How?” I nearly shouted. I was beyond taken aback by the news.
“Riven thought it was all because of him. He blamed himself for being extra rough with his girlfriend, which made her run away”, Caleb replied, the pain completely evident in his voice.
“Who leaves their own pack because their boyfriend from another pack was rough with her during their first s*x? Does this make sense to you?” I asked in a weird tone.
“It’s Riven’s logic, sister. No one can understand what goes on inside that rock-hard head of his!” Caleb replied in a casual tone.
“That’s true too. It’s Riven. He is really unpredictable. By the way, what happened after that?” I asked out of curiosity.
“What else? Riven blamed himself all over again. He was heartbroken. All of us tried to convince him that she must have been kidnapped and it was not his fault because he told her everything before doing it with her, but he was not ready to accept it”, Caleb said in a plain tone.
“Yeah, that’s the thing. What is wrong with this guy? He had already told her about being rough! She should have either accepted him or rejected him! Why did she run away…? This is so not right..” I asked in an utterly frustrated tone.
Before I could complete my statement, Caleb cut me off immediately and spoke, “Well, you don’t know if she really ran away.”
“She didn’t? Then what actually happened to her?” I asked in astonishment.
“Then, all the neighboring packs arranged a search mission for her and three days later, our dad was the one who found her near the west side of the forest”, Caleb replied calmly.
“Was she okay?” I asked worriedly.
Caleb’s next statement nearly exploded my heart, “She was unconscious and beaten brutally.”
“Oh My God!” I covered my face.
“When she regained consciousness, she said some weird creatures kidnapped her. One of them came to her as Riven and asked her to go out, so she went out with him but then he changed back to someone completely different and she was unable to differentiate between Riven and him as his scent was also the same as Riven”. Caleb began to narrate Erica’s side of the story.
“Don’t tell me! Were they foxes again?” I interrupted him and asked in shock.
Ignoring my curious question, Caleb began with his narration again, “She said she tried to run away but they beat her and gave her a message to deliver to the Dark Sapphire pack.”
“Message? What message?” I asked curiously.
“They gave a message that ‘They are coming again for us! And they will destroy us. They won’t stop until each and every werewolf pack gets what they deserve. They will eliminate the werewolf community from the face of the earth and they will initiate their mission with Dark Sapphire'” He spoke with a loud growl.
Clearly angry with their message.
“Why are these foxes behind werewolves? What is their rivalry with, especially with your pack?” I asked. I was dying with curiosity.
“You know, a couple of centuries ago, there was a huge war between the Werewolf community and the fox community, and our pack, The Dark Sapphire, was leading the battle at that time.” I was beyond astonished by the information Caleb gave me.
A war? Between werewolves and foxes? When?
“I didn’t know that a war had taken place between two communities. What happened? Did we win?” I asked in curiosity.
“Yes, we did and the foxes lost not only the battle but their pride as well. Our ancestors killed them to the point of extinction. We destroyed their homes, their lands and they had to run away from these lands just to save their a*sses!” Caleb said with a mocking laugh, but there was a hint of pride in his voice.
“Recently, they have returned. The attack on me, Riven and Erica was a part of it. I have a strong feeling that they will attack us again. You are also part of our pack now and also, mate of the triplets. Right now, you are the triplet Alpha’s weakness. You should be really careful. I feel like…” Caleb began with his sets of instructions when, suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
“Giselle, are you done…?” came a deep husky voice from the other side of the door.
“Um.. yeah…coming, wait a minute!” I shouted.
“Caleb, I will talk to you later. Someone is knocking on my door. Take care” I said hurriedly.
“No worries, you too take care. Love you, sis”, Caleb spoke sweetly.
“Love you too”, I replied, smiling and disconnected the call.
I opened the door and there was a very annoyed Kevin standing right in front of me.
“Ooo, Kevin” I spoke with a nervous smile.
“Why are you here, Giselle? The breakfast is getting cold!” Kevin said frustratedly.
“Um.. that. Mom called” I lied hurriedly.
“Since when did you start talking to your mother this long?” Kevin asked with a raised eyebrow at first, but then started chuckling.
“I got Caleb’s call as well, Kevin! But mum’s call brought me back to my room. You know how we talk”, I lied again and gave him a knowing look.
“Yes, that I know. Anyways, I get it now, that ‘love you too’ must be for Caleb then”, Kevin said with a smile.
“Yeah, it was” I replied, smiling.
“Let’s go”. Kevin caressed my cheek and then held my hand to guide me towards the dining room.
As soon as I entered the dining room, I saw Stefan and Riven eating breakfast in silence, sitting side by side.
Stefan smiled at me. Riven only gave me a curt nod. At least he had acknowledged my presence!
I sat next to Kevin and began to have my breakfast in silence as well. There was an uncomfortable silence in the room.
I looked around for someone to start a conversation because the truth inside my chest was killing me.
When nobody spoke for another while, I coughed loudly to get their attention. I just can’t take this anymore, I had to tell them the truth.
“Here, baby”. Kevin thought I was having a cough, so he gave me a glass of warm water.
“Guys, I want to tell you something”
