Chapter 133 The Ring
GOLD PACK
Jovy was so excited to see Nadia return, she looked more relaxed and toned than the last time she had seen her. She pulled at her hand. “I can’t believe you went so far away from me leaving me to fend for myself. It’s crazy around here.” Jovy pouted.
Nadia laughed heartily as she caressed her hair. “I had to run off. Didn’t think I could last a week more if I stayed. But I feel much better now. You look regal, Jovy. How has it been taking the reins of the pack?”
Jovy exhaled, guiding Nadia to sit on the couch in her room. “I wouldn’t say it has been all fun, but Xavier has been amazing. He makes it so easy for me. And I can’t leave out Beta Harry and Rebecca, these three people are angels.”
“I’m really glad you are getting along well. It has been a while I heard someone else say something good about him since your father’s death.”
“I guess he is just being misunderstood.” Jovy noted. She hasn’t been her usual self after her meeting with Logan which had turned her into a horny beast. Since that fateful day, her hands seem unable to resist her private part and she never gets satisfied until she moans his name out loud. She couldn’t be thankful enough for the soundproof walls.
Xavier noticing her sour mood, gave her the needed space while showering her with attention at the same time. Aside Arlo who had been the only male figure in her life to be extremely supportive. She had seen the same virtue in Xavier.
“So, do you think you both are ready to settle down? As the Luna you can’t stay single for too long. I didn’t want it to seem like I am shoving him down your throat. It’s why I traveled for this long. But it is my duty as the eldest in the family to ensure you get married to the right man.” Nadia said, trying to read through Jovy’s expression.
Xavier had called her before hand expressing his intention. It had prompted her to return earlier than scheduled. Nadia couldn’t stay back to prevent Anastasia from poisoning Jovy’s mind against marrying Xavier. Also, Harry had called to inform her of the pack council and members grumbling about Jovy’s single status.
Jovy blushed. “Like I said he is a good one and I don’t think I would decline if he asks me.” She responded putting Nadia’s worried mind at ease.
“Thank you so much for listening to me.” Nadia beamed brightly.
The three of them were at dinner when Xavier chose to pop the question. He couldn’t wait any longer. Xavier wasn’t too sure what it was but one of the maids he had put up as his ears and eyes when he isn’t around the pack house told him about two unfamiliar men who had come around and one of them leaving angrily. Also, Xavier was bothered about Jovy’s friend that seems to be more than just a friend. He had to play his game right before he loses his chance at becoming Alpha. The only clause is having Jovy to accept his proposal.
Jovy’s eyes rounded like saucers when Xavier got on his knee. “What are you doing?” She muttered.
“I didn’t want it to seem like you don’t deserve all the necessary romance just because we are expected to be together. I didn’t think it would be easy falling in love with you but your soft gaze and smile made it all too easy for me. I will always be grateful to aunt Nadia for thinking me worthy enough. I want you to know that I would learn to love you better everyday of my life. And I hope you would do me the honors of being my forever.” He grinned.
Tears laced Jovy’s eyes, she had never felt so much emotions inside of her before and his words sounded like the most beautiful poem she has ever heard. This was it, the good life that she deserves. If only she knew leaving Logan and all of her tormentors behind would bring her so much goodness, she would have left a long time ago.
The Moon Goddess was finally compensating her for being so patient and enduring. Even though Xavier might not be as good looking as Logan and her clits don’t tingle at the sight of him like it always react at just a glance from Logan, she was fine with it and the peace of being with Xavier meant a whole lot to her. Something told her missing the chance to be loved by a great person like Xavier would cost her a happy future in the end. Also, as the Luna of the Gold pack it’s expected of her to have a partner and also keep the generation going strong with offsprings.
Taking a deep breath, she grinned at him. “Yes, Xavier. I will marry you.”
Nadia clapped in delight, the noise resounding in the empty space. She wished Marcel was alive to see the union. She could almost envision their family and how beautiful their children will look.
“You two look so amazing together. Thank you for doing this Jovy. I promise you wouldn’t regret a thing. We can have the engagement in a week time. It would give us time after that to plan for a grand wedding.” Nadia assured.
Jovy nodded. “Sure, I don’t have a problem with it.”
“Me neither.” Xavier added.
Xavier kissed Jovy hand looking as happy as a kite. He never thought it would come that easy to him, even though he could tell Jovy is an easy person. His dreams were about to take a beautiful turn to greatness.
‘Are you crazy?!’ Anastasia and Arlo spat at the same time. It scared her. It would have been worse if they saw her face.
‘What did I do wrong?’ Jovy inquired. She couldn’t hold back her happiness after spending more time with Xavier. She had retired to her room and made a conference video call to her friends and cousin immediately.
‘Why are you both aiming for her neck like that? What did she do wrong?’ Amelia asked looking surprised.
Alice looked bored. ‘You both are just overreacting.”
‘Really?’ Anastasia sounded pissed. ‘It has only been what? Just over three to four months that you have known him and you are already losing your mind over him?’
Arlo had a displeased look on his face. ‘I thought you know better than to let this happen again and so easily.’
‘Jovy is a lover girl, what part of that do you all not understand?’ Alice interjected.
‘Guys! Please.’ Jovy called out sounding tired. ‘I need you to understand that I have thought this through and I want to spend my life with him.’
‘Oh, my goodness!’ Anastasia moaned dramatically. ‘What in the world did they feed you with? Are you sure about this, Jovy? He is only doing this to become the Alpha.’
‘Then it’s better that way. I can’t take up the sole duty of the pack all on my own.’ Jovy replied.
‘But you can obviously get someone better. I don’t feel good about this guy. And I am certain you don’t even know him too well.’ Arlo argued.
Alice exhaled loudly. ‘Listen, Jovy, I am not saying Anastasia and Arlo are totally wrong but I don’t think you are totally wrong either. Also both Arlo and Anastasia, just because you don’t feel good about someone or something doesn’t mean you are always right. Jovy must have seen him differently. Let her sort this on her own. Shouldn’t we be thankful? I didn’t think she give any man a chance in her life ever again. I am so glad you have finally moved on. That is what we love to see. On this note I will say goodnight to you all.’
And just like that Alice was off the call, causing the others to do the same. Jovy felt torn apart as to what to do. However, she knew deep within herself that there is no going back in marrying Xavier. Also she needs to show Logan just how much control she has on her feelings and to also let him know, she has moved on happily.
