Chapter 127 He is undeserving
GOLD PACK
It has been a long week. Jovy yawned as she stared at her laptop. She had been supervising the projects of the pack with Beta Harry and Xavier. Even though she was beginning to get used to it, the stress was never alike. Aside that, she was beginning to feel Xavier drifting from her and it made Jovy guilty for hiding the secret of the Moon Stone from him. Beta Harry had kept to his promise of bringing it to her and ensuring to keep it in a safe. The code only known to her and Harry had told her to let it be so to avoid any distrust.
When Jovy returned to the pack house, she had retired to bed to sleep almost immediately. Since Anastasia and her kids left, it had become more boring for her and work had gotten so choking, she couldn’t find anything fun to do. When Jovy gets time, she talks to Arlo and the rest of her friends. No one told her being a Luna includes getting used to being alone. Xavier only gets to spend time with her when he also isn’t too exhausted from work. Nadia had gone on a three months girls trip with her friends the moment Anastasia left.
However, Jovy felt excited since Alice and Anastasia would be coming to spend the weekend with her and that would make her more active for the coming week. Amelia couldn’t come because Ava had taken ill. Jovy tried not to doubt her excuse but she could tell that Ava must have frustrated Amelia to an extent and had decided to give in to her excesses. They had left Jovy no choice but to try find something to do by distracting herself.
Since she couldn’t get much sleep, she had brought out her laptop to keep checking on the companies they are investing in. She sat up in a hurry when her eyes landed on a familiar name.
“Logan?” She muttered to herself.
On the screen was two of the most popular restaurant and hotel under the name of Logan Odell. To cap it all, her father investment company is a major shareholder. Who would have thought the almighty Logan also has a backbone. Her mind raced through how less of herself he had always made her feel so small.
A yawn escaped her lips as she felt her eyes close up slowly. Shutting down the laptop, Jovy let the sleep evade her without trying to fight it.
****************************
“Are you being serious right now?!” Alice yelled as she chewed on the fries in front of her. She had arrived with Anastasia who had taken her time to drive her from the train station.
Jovy giggled, cozying up in between the two ladies. “I was shocked when I stumbled on his name. Dad has been a major shareholder since the beginning of both the restaurant and hotel. How did he take such risk on someone he knows nothing about?”
Anastasia flicked her tongue. “I think I have heard stories about him from uncle Marcel sometime ago. Now that you mentioned it, I never did think he could be the brutal Alpha everyone was talking about.”
“What do you know about him?” Jovy asked, all of a sudden she felt eager.
“There was a time some old friends of uncle had come to him about twelve years ago, I was still quite young then. They proposed that uncle Marcel invests in his business. I was playing right in the study when they came and since they didn’t ask for me to excuse them I stayed put and was able to hear all they had to say. My uncle was skeptical at first because it was just a startup but his friends were confident that the young man would do well. I guess he couldn’t resist investing and I guess it paid off eventually.” Anastasia explained.
Jovy nodded her head in the affirmation. “In all sincerity he grosses the highest profit back to the company.”
They stayed quiet for a while, each person lost in thought. Alice snapped her fingers. “Are you both thinking like I am?”
Anastasia exchanged a funny look with Jovy. “How would we do that when we don’t live inside your head.”
She rolled her eyes. “Well since you have access to Alpha Logan’s companies and you are the major shareholder, how about you start punishing him by refusing to maintain your shares in the restaurant. I learnt from my dad just how much that cripples a business.”
“Oh, my goodness! That is like the best advice I have heard all day! This is great!” Anastasia shook her head in agreement.
Jovy stared at them in disbelief. “Are you both being real right now? If I do that it would put a huge debt in his business.”
“And that serves him just right for everything he made you go through.” Anastasia noted.
Alice observed Jovy’s sudden change in reaction. She inhaled, holding up Jovy’s hands. “Jovy, I know you would think it’s not worth doing. You are good at heart and I know how considerate you are of other people’s feelings. But this person we are talking about doesn’t deserve your pity. Not only did he make you feel miserable, he left you to die two different times. So before you consider being thoughtful towards him, have you thought of how much of a waste your life would have been if Arlo wasn’t in place and everyone feared what would become of them if they went out of their way to help you? What if you never survived it?”
“To think he has never called to apologize or try to find her, he obviously doesn’t deserve any mercy.” Anastasia added with a snort.
Jovy swallowed hard. She had never thought a day would come when she would be able to get back at the one person who made her life the most miserable. She had thought nothing could be worse than living with Tommy and his then family but she knew better when she eventually found herself in Logan’s cave. He was brutal through and through it all and he made her visit hell and back.
She felt the heat and never wanted to experience it again. Her friend and cousin were right, he deserves every harm that comes his way. No one should be treated the way he treated her. Jovy had done nothing to deserve his cruel attitude towards her. Logan was the one who kept finding his way to her and having wicked sex with her. The thought of their wild nights together had her driven on the edge. Goosebumps rose to the call at the memories of those nights and it made her itch between her thighs.
“Focus, Jovy!” She whispered to herself. In actual truth she had never really gotten over him.
“Did you say something?” Alice asked.
Something clicked in her head. “I just remembered something, Anastasia can you keep my former marriage unknown to anyone? I really don’t want to have any reason to discuss him with others please ”
Anastasia made a zip lock act. “Trust me girl, I got your back.”
Jovy shook her head like she caught a cold. “You know what? It’s decided. I will make Logan pay dearly for ever thinking I was his plaything. And from this he would learn to respect women like he is expected to.”
“Wow! Now that is the spirit girl! That is how it should be! Let’s cheers to this!” Alice screamed.
They raised their glasses of wine. “What should we cheers to?” Anastasia questioned..
“Let’s cheers to teaching awful men a deserving lesson.” Jovy cheered with a renewed energy.
Logan would never be expectant of what is to come and his doom is definitely near.
