Chapter 95 Underlying diseases
MYSTIC SHADOWS FORTRESS
Arlo stared at Jovy, she looked so pale like she would fade out, her skin cracked and it scared him. He hadn’t seen her for close to two weeks but had tried hard to maintain contact with her and Jovy never told him anything about being sick.
“What has been going on with you, Jovy? You look weak. Are you okay?” He asked.
Jovy heaved a sigh as she rested her head on her outstretched arm. For two weeks she has been plagued with early morning fatigue, feeling nauseous at the smell of food and her sleep pattern has changed so much.
“I don’t know Arlo. I have been feeling really different from my usual self for two weeks now.” She replied.
“Did you check at the infirmary to get tested?” Arlo inquired with a worried look on his face.
Jovy turned her head towards him. “I have been trying to talk to Logan about it but he rarely comes home and when he does he never talks to me. It’s evident Logan wants nothing to do with me. Also, I don’t want to get him angry over my going to the infirmary without his permission.” She groaned, feeling an ache make its way to her head.
Arlo sighed as he stood up and typed hurriedly on his phone. It’s obvious Jovy isn’t in a good condition. There is nothing else himself and Kyrian can do to save Jovy from Logan’s wrath. The least they can do is provide the support that Logan has refused to. He couldn’t tell it to Jovy that her husband Logan has become an awful man whore who trades different ladies around like a runway model would discard her clothes. It’s almost like the marriage triggered Logan to be the worse of himself.
Logan and Kyrian have had several arguments as regards Jovy and nothing positive has resulted from it. It’s the more reason Arlo takes out time to call and check up on her whenever he can.
“Why did you stand up?” Jovy asked when Arlo returned to the seat. Her voice sounded so weak.
“I texted the infirmary to send someone over to check on you.” He replied.
Jovy held up a small smile. “Thank you so much, Arlo.”
“Anything for you.” He grinned back at her.
In less than thirty minutes that Arlo made the call, an Iota arrived at the mansion and the moment she walked in her eyes shone brightly.
“Oh my goodness! I am so sorry Luna. The Theta had no idea it was you if not she would have come here herself.” The Iota pleaded with her head bowed in respect.
Jovy looked perplexed at first, she had almost forgotten about the position she held in the fortress. She held up a tight smile. “It’s fine.” She nodded at the lady to come closer.
“That’s okay, can you just do a quick check and let me know if she would need to be brought to the infirmary.” Arlo said.
The Iota put down her tool box to check Jovy’s pale eyeballs. She pulled out a small note and began to write on it. “Can you please tell me how you have been feeling?”
Jovy cleared her throat as she sat up properly. “I have been feeling very tired every morning. I noticed my breasts feels different…it’s a bit bigger in size and then my sleep pattern has changed a whole lot. I sleep more now.”
The Iota grinned. “When was the last time you had your monthly period?”
The question shocked Jovy a bit. She looked towards Arlo like the answer was written on his forehead. Due to everything that had been happening, Jovy’s mind had lost track of her usual monthly track.
“I really can’t remember, but I don’t think I have had it this month.” She replied.
The lady nodded. “From what I have seen and heard, I want to believe I know what exactly is wrong with you. But I would love for you to come down to the infirmary for a blood test. It won’t take more than two hours for the result to be out.”
“Alright. We would be right behind you.” Arlo told her, dipping his hands into his pocket and his eyes lingered on Jovy. “Do you need to change?”
Looking down on the jean and t-shirt she wore, it seem just good enough. Ever since she entered the fortress house, she has never gotten the chance to change clothes that much or go anywhere. But it bothered her that everyone might end up talking about how shabbily dressed the Luna was.
Arlo sighed. “I have a cap and face mask in my car that you can borrow while we do whatever it is there.” He said as if he had read her mind.
She gave him an appreciative look. “Thank you so much for this, Arlo.”
Arlo made a head sign. They stepped out of the house. By the time they arrived at the infirmary, the Theta already had her door opened and was all about apologizing to Jovy for disrespecting her while Jovy kept telling her not to worry.
They eventually got Jovy’s blood for the test while she and Arlo were made to wait in the room when he insisted on wanting to be with her. Jovy couldn’t thank him enough for staying with her. Anxiety ate deep into the bane of her neck and it worried her that she might have some sort of underlying disease which would be just about enough reason for Logan to finally throw her out of his house and life.
Jovy isn’t bothered about not seeing him again, knowing just how awful he has been to her but she has no one and nowhere to go. Even though Amelia keeps assuring Jovy that she could come, she didn’t think it was a good idea to rely on it.
Arlo held her shaky hands, he had noticed her nervousness at first which was why he insisted on staying by her side. Every time he sits next to Jovy, Arlo wished there was something he could do to put an end to her misery. At the same time, it wasn’t his decision to make but Jovy has to decide if she wants to leave or not.
The Theta arrived with an envelope in hand and a bright smile on her face. “I must say Luna, yourself and the Alpha would be really happy about this news. You are four weeks pregnant!” She announced, causing the duo to stare in disbelief.
