Chapter 94 The reminder
MYSTIC SHADOWS FORTRESS
The trail of the vodka down his throat made his insides shiver as it hit the expected spot. Early morning drinking was so underrated if only everyone knew just how nice it makes one feel. Logan slumped into the chair. He has been away from home for three nights and only return to get his work clothes which means he hasn’t set his eyes on Jovy since that day when she had placed herself as important.
The thought of everything that ensued that day made him sneer. The audacity she possessed had him boiling. She really was lucky that he doesn’t beat women if not he would have drilled in some sense into that empty head of hers. The conversation made him more disinterested in wanting to have anything to do with her. Her stay in the house which might eventually get to him would have to be taken care of before she becomes more of a pain in the neck.
Logan just couldn’t think of him ever falling in love and not just with anyone but someone as weak as his mother. He had an imagery of his mother in Jovy and it was obvious that Jovy would even give her head away all for love. Logan doesn’t need someone that weak next to him. His hatred grows by the day at the mere thought of it. He wouldn’t resist the urge to make her feel the heat of just how much he despises her.
Logan didn’t realize Kyrian had walked into the office and was watching him grip the glass he had poured his drink into. And in a split second Logan had the glass flying to the wall. Kyrian bent down in a hurry as he tried to avoid being hit by the glass. The poor thing shattered into pieces and scattered over the floor.
“Should I bring more glasses?” Kyrian asked with his lips twitching to the side.
Logan had a surprised look on his face. “You are back, Kyrian?”
“Nah, I was just about to go back.” Kyrian replied sarcastically. He had attended a pack conference on behalf of Logan. The excuse had been that due to his current relationship status he would still be in the honeymoon phase with his dear Luna. But from the look of things, Kyrian doubted if there was ever any honeymoon tryout. “I thought we agreed on you treating your wife with some atom of care.”
He snorted. “I am fine thank you since you are so concerned about my welfare.”
Kyrian pulled a chair to seat. “I didn’t ask you about your welfare. What have you been doing to her?”
“And who are you to question me?”
“A concerned friend and Beta! What in the world is wrong with you? What are you doing to the
poor girl?”
“Putting her in her place.” Logan grumbled.
Kyrian sighed. “It’s not this girl’s fault that you can’t seem to love. But don’t make her just as bitter as you.”
“Someone like her has no sense of reasoning.”
“When was the last time you slept in the house?”
“Keeping an eye on my moves now?”
“Just answer the damn question!”
“I am not obliged to answer you. Don’t test me, Kyrian.” He warned.
“Or what will you do? What exactly will you do if I chose to test you? What in the world are you trying to prove? Act like a fucking man!”
Logan kissed his teeth. “Kyrian, I am a fucking adult and I would move around the way I want to. I have places I can spend the night when I decide to and if you are so vested in making her happy…go and marry her!”
Kyrian stayed quiet with his eyes not giving out any emotion. When Arlo had texted him about how awful Logan has been treating Jovy, he had shunned the boy and told him to mind his business. Kyrian’s attitude isn’t just about what Logan is doing to Jovy but more of how he would be back to looking for a wife if Jovy can’t stand his brutal behavior anymore. If he doesn’t stop, Jovy would definitely run off to anywhere she considers safe. It burns Kyrian out that Logan doesn’t give a care about any of these things and would rather do what he wants and what pleases him.
Kyrian took in a deep breathe. “It’s of no use talking to you. You know the most annoying thing about this? It is the fact that I had to burn my ass out to get this through for you. And here you are feeling mighty like it is your birth right. Do whatever you want. That’s your fucking problem!” He said before storming out of the office.
Logan swallowed hard, hating how much Jovy’s discussion causes a rift between himself and Kyrian. There is no way he would let anyone force him into accepting Jovy or play soft towards her. He feels she is deserving of whatever treatment he dishes out to her. Not going home and letting her feel the heat of his detest for her was all intentional to make her stay far away from him. Might be called wicked but Logan doesn’t care about what anyone says.
Feeling uncomfortable in the seat, Logan stood up and made his way out of the office. Getting in his car, he drove through the streets like a maniac as his wolf craved for the smell of the woods and some actual freedom. He needed a right spot to himself.
Getting off the car as he parked next to the woods by the road, he made his way into shifting with an abnormal rage and he ran through the woods with every strength he could muster. He blamed himself for letting his lust take control of him as regards Jovy. He should have rejected her right on the spot. Now, he is saddled with her responsibility and getting rid of her seem to become harder as the day goes. Logan’s wolf howled loudly into the sky and it huffed and puffed.
Logan felt better after the long run. Returning to the safety of his car, he changed into the spare clothes he puts in place in his car, perfumed himself and drove through the street a bit slowly. Stopping in front of a restaurant, Logan’s eyes lingered on a pretty looking lady with smooth tanned legs that had him imagining different ways he could have them hanging in the air with his cock ramming through her. And as if on cue the lady winked at him and she adjusted her already overflowing breasts up with a seductive look.
Logan licked his lips. “Just the exact thing I need.”
