Chapter 22 Three days sex
MIDNIGHT PACK
FINLAY HIGH SCHOOL
Alice folded her hands on the table giving Jovy a skeptical look. For someone who was locked up all through the weekend Jovy seem so unbothered about it but she was more bothered about not receiving a call or text from the supposed man she ran off with.
“How in the world did you get yourself involved with an entire stranger?” Alice questioned, surprised at her best friend’s sudden change of behavior.
Jovy checked her phone once again before looking up at her. “How many times do I have to retell how I ended up with him? Listen Alice, those three days were the best moments of my life. I have never been that free and happy my whole life until those moments I spent with him. He made me feel happy, important and whole.”
Alice scoffed. “And then you decided to become all selfish and not care that someone would be worried about you.”
Jovy heaved a deep sigh. “I am so sorry, Alice. I never intended for it to happen. But…I got carried away and it just happened.” She shrugged in defense.
“You don’t seem remorseful to me for someone who got battered up because of a man. You are still here craving for his communication. Have you lost your mind? You look too desperate to me. And is this something about you being love deprived?” Alice demanded.
Jovy rolled her eyes at Alice’s drama. She had expected her to understand since she was the wild one but Alice was acting different. Her father eventually released her, the day being a school day and he had returned her phone to her too. The first thing she did was search through her call logs and message box but nothing came in from a new number. In fact, she didn’t receive any familiar or odd call. Her phone was blank.
Immediately Jovy’s heart had sank at the thought of him forgetting her when she had thought they shared something special and had been expecting that they would build on their supposed relationship now.
“Don’t tell me, you are thinking that you have something special going on?” Alice bickered as if she had read her friend’s mind.
Jovy looked pitiful as she slumped deeper into the chair. “We had a good time and he promised to call.”
“What if he had summed it up to him just having fun? It is just a one night stand…no…three nights stands, Jovy. Why don’t you understand that?”
“I know what a one night stand means but we were together, having sex for exactly three days. How can you still refer that to just having fun?”
“Jovy!” Alice called out to her with a disappointing look playing on her expression.
Almost a year back when Jovy had fallen for a new guy in the school then, Farrell and had gotten played on she had thought Jovy would have learnt from the embarrassment the guy had made her go through. But seeing her fussing over a man who was obviously older, as regards her description of him and also someone who definitely is only interested in sex. It made her heart ache for Jovy. She was naive.
“You don’t understand, Alice. This guy is not like Farrell. He is different. I can feel it.” Jovy tried to argue, even though she wasn’t certain yet, if she is more interested in his dick or the man himself.
“This one would break your heart, Jovy, if you find out he is not what you think he is. Accept that he only wanted some pussy which you have given to him and let’ us forget this ever happened. You already missed three days of school work so get your head back in the game girl!”
Tears welled up at the corners of Jovy’s eyes as she listened to Alice whose heart went out to her. Alice couldn’t say she knew exactly how Jovy was feeling but she could obviously understand her.
“It can’t possibly be…” Jovy’s voice trailed off.
Alice stood up from her seat, she went closer to Jovy and pulled her into herself. “It’s okay baby. You would be fine I promise.”
“I just want to be loved too.” Jovy said in a tight whisper.
Alice patted her back gently. “You will find someone…definitely. Oh my dear, do you want ice cream?”
Jovy pulled away from the embrace to look up at her. “Why are you always playing around at serious moments?”
Alice grinned widely. “I am just doing my best to lighten the tensed mood. Anything to make you happy.”
Jovy sighed. She smiled lightly as she eased herself a bit from her sitting position. Her life had changed drastically in less than a week. All she had wanted was to get her degree and run as far as her legs could carry her away from her father and his family. Now, she can’t seem to explain how she feels about Logan but one thing she does know is-she wants more of him.
All through the nights she spent locked up in the basement, all she thought of was him and how nice it would be if they ended up being couples. He was strange but probably his uniqueness was what caught her attention. She had never encountered such strange man before as he didn’t say much and acted on most of his intentions. If not for anything else, she would love to hear his voice again.
“Am I attractive enough?” Jovy blurted out.
Alice who had been sipping on a cup of smoothie almost choked on it when she heard the question. “Did you hit your head on the wall? Have you lost your mind?” She demanded.
Jovy rolled her eyes. “Answer the question Alice and don’t think of fooling me.”
“Since when did you become this sassy?” Alice sounded amused as she moved a bit closer to her and she lowered her voice. “Seems true that dick changes a lady.”
Jovy’s cheeks turned red but she looked to the other side away so Alice wouldn’t see it. “Shut up!”
Alice laughed hard. “Anyways, for a man to keep you for three days and fuck you consistently, then you damn right made him go nuts. He must have been stricken by your beauty and most especially your beautiful green eyes.”
Jovy got excited but it didn’t last. “Then why hasn’t he call back yet?” She pouted.
Alice felt the urge to growl loudly. “You were attractive to him and so were you. You both had a nice time so show time is over. These things are normal. Like you get fucked, have crazy sex, wild sex, move on and have sex again…it is more like a circle.”
Realization kind of dawned on Jovy that Alice might be right. They had no obligation towards each other so he might possibly not call back. She hadn’t even thought of him being a married man or engaged to someone. Thinking about it now, his home looked too homely for a bachelor.
Jovy felt betrayed and stupid at the same time. “You are right.”
Alice stared at her pitifully. “That’s okay. Something like this only happens to the best of us.” She consoled. “Let me grab us some lunch. Stay still.” Not bothering to ask what she wanted, Alice walked away. She already knew her best friend’s preferences by heart.
Jovy placed her head on her palms as she got lost in thought. Amelia who was passing by with her underdogs couldn’t help but notice her.
“Awwnnn, if it isn’t the lovesick puppy then who is it? You know, you still haven’t said anything on where you were exactly.”
Jovy raised her head to meet her eyes. “I don’t want to do this with you, Amelia.” She said in a low tone. She looked around to find every other person’s eyes in the hall on the both of them.
Amelia chuckled dryly. “And why wouldn’t you? Oh! Are you scared everyone will know you ran off with a stranger for three days?!” She said in a high tone.
Series of shocking gasps rang through the hall. “Oops! Did I say something wrong?” Amelia tilted her head, acting oblivious as she watched her step sister.
“Do I need to help straighten that neck of yours that keeps meddling in people’s business?” Alice said behind her.
One thing about Amelia was she feared confrontations. Her obsession with her face and body makes her weary of her actions. She avoids shifting all in the name of not wanting wrinkles. And Alice knew just what to say to make her back off even though it wasn’t a mere threat.
Amelia rolled her eyes. “Yeah, yeah, do your thing as always wrestler. We are already on our way.” She scoffed, gesturing towards her fellows to come along.
“That’s what I thought.” Alice muttered as she dropped her tray of food on the table.
“Thank you, Alice.” Jovy muttered but her mind was distant from being in the hall.
“Anytime girl.” Alice replied, biting hard into a burger.
