Alexa’s Point Of View
“Why do you keep staying up the tree everytime?”
“I don’t like playing on the ground.”
“Tch! Whenever we wanna play, you stay up there and I stay down here. It’s no fun.” I whined poutingly, glancing up at him to see if he was falling for my trick and he was. He looked guilty. I grinned inwardly as I intensified my puppy eyes.
“Fine fine,”
I squealed and he laughed. “Just… move away from the foot of the tree. I’m gonna jump down,”
“Jump down? How is that…”
Before I could complete my statement, he leapt down the tree and landed on his feet. My jaw fell ajar in shock. How is this possible? He dusted his shirt and stared at me. He was…. handsome. So handsome. Non of the pack kids are as handsome as he is.
“H… how did you…”
“Are you surprised that a werewolf can jump from such an height?”
I shook my head. “A GROWN werewolf can but you’re just fifteen!”
He shrugged. “I trained harder,”
“Wow,” I gawked. “Can you train me too?”
He furrowed his brows. “Why?”
“Well… I’m wolfless so I’m naturally weak. I should at least get some training to defend myself in the future,” I said bashfully, kicking the leaves at my feet. “Train me that I’ll be so strong to take down a… a tiger!” I beamed, acting like I was wrestling a tiger.
I stopped punching the air when he laughed. “You…” He tried saying but he wouldn’t stop laughing, making me feel embarrassed.
“W.. what? Do you think I’m out of my mind for thinking about that?”
“No.” He stopped laughing. “I just think you’re cute.” He said, making my cheeks heat up. “I’ve never met a kid like you.”
I frowned. “I’m not a kid!”
“See. You’re stumping your feet on the ground like a kid.” He taunted and I picked up a tree branch near me and tired to hit him with it but his reflex was so fast.
“I’ll let you hit me if you catch me,”
He took off and I chased him with a branch, ready to hit him when I tripped on a branch and hit my head.
“Ouch!” I cried and when I opened my eyes, I was in the middle of five vampires. Their eyes were red and fangs were out, hungrily snarling at me.
Ah yes, I remember now.
Master Raga left me to their care as he left to deliver a message to Darco. Everything was going fine until these bloodsuckers started acting weird.
“Let’s just drink from her, Master Darco won’t mind,”
Just that one suggestion made everyone of them decide they were going to kill me. Now j wouldn’t let them, would I? So I took to my heels and they chased after me.
They were vampires, of course they would be faster. They caught up with me in no time. One pounced on me, tearing my face with his claws. I pierced his eye with my knife and kicked him off me.
“Don’t freaking touch me!” I screamed at them but it only fueled them the more. No matter how hard I fought, they were stronger but I wouldn’t let them reach my neck. They cut and scratched me. I felt tired as I lost a lot of blood.
I would die at this rate.
If only…
If only I didn’t leave…
Tears stung my eyes as I remembered I promised him not to sneak out.
“Akira,” I called in desperation and guilt.
“No one is going to save you, princess. I’m sure you’d taste as good as your blood, huh?” One taunted and the others laughed.
My legs threatened to give out but I held on. I looked at Cyan who was barking. He was also injured.
“Let’s get this over with, shall we?”
As he leapt toward me, I saw my life flash before my eyes. I shut my eyes, ready for the impact when I heard a loud growl echo. I opened my eyes and saw the vampire’s dead body at my feet.
The growl echoed again and I looked up. There it was, a black and red wolf, towering over me. It’s eyes were silver and I knew it was Akira. He was here to save me.
My heart danced in joy.
I was so relieved and happy to see him. So happy that tears fell from my eyes.
Akira, I’m so happy to see you.
“Akira,” was all I could say before drifting into darkness.
I don’t know for how long I was unconscious but I’m sure it was for a long time. I saw Lyell. I dreamt about Akira saving.
I wanted to open my eyes but I couldn’t.
Just then, I heard Lyell call my name, “Lexi,”
His call made me open my eyes. My eyes searched around but I couldn’t find Lyell, only Akira. Was I dreaming again?
“Akira,” I called and his chest went down in relief.
I tried standing up but I felt a sharp pain on my chest.
“Be careful, you broke some of your ribs,”
I did?
He helped me sit up and placed a pillow at my back so I could rest. All the while, he had a frown plastered on his face. He looked very mad.
“Akira,” I called him but he didn’t reply. He got off the bed and turned his back to me. He is furious.
“How could you do that, Alexa?” He fumed.
“I..”
He turned to me. “I told you to stay put! In the palace. I told you not to go anywhere!” He barked.
“I… I know but-”
“But what, Alexa? Do you know what could have happened if I was a little bit later?” He scolded. “Do you know… do you know you could have fucking died?!”
“I… Akira, I just…”
“For fuck’s sake! I almost lost you!” He cried hurtfully. “I… I thought you were going to die. I.. I thought,” he let out a sharp breath and covered his face with his palm.
“I’m… I’m sorry,” I said tearily. “I only… I just wanted to leave,” I argued.
“Well, that is not going to occur ever again! From today on, you will not leave this room until I say otherwise!” He blasted with finality before stumping to the door and banging it as he exited.
I buried my face in my palm as I sobbed.
Why… why did he have to raise his voice at me?
Now I’m back to it. I’m back to being locked up.
