Akira’s Point Of View
“Where did you say he was living again?” I asked Riaz through the mind link.
“They say he’s a royal blacksmith in the pack. You should find him in the west wing of the palace. That is where the high-rank workers stay,”
“Alright. Are the guards still asleep?”
He hummed. “Sleeping and dreaming,” he replied. Aside from his invisibility, Riaz also can hypnotize people to sleep. One of the perks of being a witch-werewolf hybrid I guess. Once he stares into your eyes and his blue eyes glow, you’ll be hypnotized into a deep sleep. You’ll sleep for as long as he wanted.
“Alright.”
I disconnected and went in the direction of the West wing. I walked like I owned the place, taking down whoever tried to stop me. I stopped when I saw a door with ‘Gorya’ written on it. Gorya is the name of the vampire who killed Moribus.
I kicked the door and it went flying off the frame. I walked in majestically and found half-naked Gorya struggling to put on his pants.
“You! Who the hell are you?!” He fired. I glanced at the woman beside him and scoffed.
“Who are you?” The woman asked fearfully as she pulled up the duvet to cover her body well.
“And who are you to him?” I asked her.
“His… his wife,”
I hummed. “I see. You see, your husband here took something from my pack,”
She frowned in confusion. “What?”
“A life,” the moment I said that Gorya’s expression changed to fear.
“You know the rules, Gorya. A life for a life,” I said as I approached him.
“B.. but… what do you mean? A life? Do you mean my husband killed someone?” She asked in horror.
“Yes.”
“N… no, Helen. It… it’s not like that. She… I… I couldn’t do it anymore. My bloodlust was out of control so…”
“So you killed someone?!” She shrieked. “You promised we wouldn’t take any lives, Gorya. We promised each other we wouldn’t be like others!”
“I couldn’t do it anymore! Our son died because he didn’t make that choice and I refuse to die the same way!”
“Gorya!”
“Hey!” I thundered and they both faced me abruptly. “I am not here to witness any family drama.”
“Please. I’m sorry. It won’t happen today, I…”
Without waiting for him to complete his statement, I grabbed his neck and snapped it off his body. His head rolled on the ground and his body disintegrated to ashes.
Helena let out a terrified scream before she passed out.
This is the first vampire I’m killing since I was born. I never knew snapping their heads off their bodies was their weakness. But I’m only able to snap his head off because of my immense strength. Would a mere werewolf be able to do this?
“Alpha, hurry up. The guards are waking up,”
“On my way,”
Just as I was about to move, I heard Alexa’s voice calling to me.
“Akira,” I heard her call desperately and my heart thumped painfully.
“Alexa,” I called, hoping to hear her voice again but I got nothing.
“MATE IS IN TROUBLE!” my wolf growled and I knew the next thing to do. I sped out of the room into the forest. It took me seconds to reach my pack. I rushed up to her room and barged in. I couldn’t find her. I noticed the window was ajar so I went to it and looked down.
I sniffed the air and I growled in anger when I figured she escaped. I jumped down the window and ran in the direction of her scent.
Dex fought to take control and I let him. I’m going to kill whoever is hurting my mate even if it costs my life!
SHE’S GETTING CLOSE! Dex growled. Just then, I sighted her. My mate. Alexandra. Covered in blood as she tried to fight off the five vampires charging toward her. I increased my speed and pulled off one of them that was almost getting hold of her. I shifted into my wolf and stood protectively in front of her.
I launched at each of them and bit off their heads from their body and tore them to pieces. In anger, I turned to Alexa, ready to scold her but her teary eyes melted my heart.
“Akira,” she called shakily before fainting on my body. I shifted back to myself and carried her in my arms. I was about to move when I felt something tug on my leg. I looked down and saw a little cub biting on my pants.
“Get off,” I growled at it but it didn’t leave. Instead, it snuggled against my leg. I picked it up in frustration and placed it over my shoulder. First Isabella, now a wolf cub. I just go about adopting anyone and anything huh?
As I got home, I found Riaz, Ace, and Xena waiting for me at the entrance.
“What happened to her?” Riaz exclaimed worriedly but I paid him no attention. My priority right now is Alexa’s safety.
“Send me the royal physician,” I ordered. “Now,” I said with finality.
“O.. okay,”
“Get this thing off me.”
“Oh my gosh, he’s so cute!” Riaz cooed softly as he carried the cub off my shoulder. I climbed up the stairs to Alexa’s room. I placed her gently on her bed and examined her wounds. She had cuts on her arms and her collarbone and neck.
My blood boiled as I trailed my hand on the cuts on her face. How dare they lay their hands on her? How dare they scar her beautiful face? Who the hell are they?
“Alpha,”
“Come treat her quickly,”
The physician quickly came in and began treating Alexa. I made sure I stayed and watched the whole process. She cleaned her wounds and applied treatment.
“Alpha, I need to change her clothes. I’m going to ask you to leave, your highness,”
I didn’t want to leave but to respect Alexa, I left. After fifteen minutes, the physician came out and told me I could go back in. I entered the room and went to her side.
I held her hand in mine and kissed the back of her palm.
“Your stubbornness is just as it was, Lexi,”
Just as I said that, she opened her eyes, startling me. “Akira,” She called weakly.
Hearing her voice, my heart sank in relief.
She is okay. My love is alright.
