Philip coughed and spat out blood, causing it to spatter on the clear floor. He was getting weak but he wasn’t going to let it deter him from waiting for the right time to strike. It wasn’t wise to fight them at the state he was in, the best thing to do was to find a way to run and rescue Ava. Andras stepped back to give way for the other guys to drag Philip outside for further abuse.
The two men each took hold of Philip’s arms and dragged him out of the room, past the rooms and out the house. They released his hand and pushed him forward, making him fall to the ground.
“So,” Philip could hear Andras’s voice from behind, “Here we are, Philip. Say your last wish.”
Philip coughed and stood up slowly, maintaining his stance arduously. He wasn’t interested in summoning his powers, all he wanted to do was escape the torture but not by dying, “What is that bastard going to do with Ava?” he said, gritting his bloody teeth.
Andras smirked, “Look at you, Philip. You look so miserable. What do you think your doctor will tell you if you visit?”
“I am sure he knows what the girl is,” Philip said, peering at Andras.
The Hunter advanced towards Philip and his smirk wore off instantly, “You’ve changed, Browne. How could you be so thoughtful towards a human when you are not?”
“Because she is not a human,” Philip retorted, now glaring into Andras’ brown eyes.
The smirked crawled on his lips again and without wasting too much time, he gripped Philip’s neck and his brown eyes turned blue. Philip could feel the rush of dark energy through his blood and the darkly-energized blood began to slowly eat up his bones as it flowed through his body. Philip screamed out of pain and caught hold of Andras’ hand that was making him breathless.
As soon as he held Andras’ hand, Andras withdrew immediately and hissed in agony. He looked at his wrists and observed that it had been burnt slightly. Andras was piqued and out of vexation, he ordered the other five hunters to deal with Philip. Meanwhile, Philip summoned up enough energy and the gray pigment in his iris slowly altered to red pigment and he stretched out his hands, invoking bones constructed as skeletons. The red wave from his hand pulled those skeletons from within him and they ran towards the Hunters with knives.
Andras was particularly shocked when he saw the skeletons and he turned to the other Hunters, “Don’t let them get near you! Retreat! ” he resoundingly and stirred up his dark energized waves which seemed to eat up the skeletons as they got in contact with it, but more kept rising from the scattered bones of the dead skeletons.
Philip watched as Andras and the other Hunters struggled to fight off the batch of skeletons marching towards them. He knew that there was no time to stand and watch his enemies get destroyed. He needed to save Ava from the fire if not, he had failed. So he ran as fast as he could towards his car, got in and used his right hand to control the wheel because the nerves in his left hand were severely damaged by the arrow.
The drive to his house seemed like a long journey but when he finally arrived, the whole house had been totally burnt and the fire service were already putting off the fire with hose of water they were spreading all around. He stopped his car far away from the house and got out of it to see if they found any dead body but there was none. He feared that what he had thought came true but then, he decided to ask one of the firefighters if they had found any dead body or girl in the house.
“No. We didn’t see anyone. Looks like the person got out of the house before the fire or during its breakout,” The man said.
Hearing this, Philip knew that his worst thought had become reality. Zane had kidnapped Ava and he had the least idea of where they could be.
