got into his car and slammed the door shut. He couldn’t believe what had just happened. He had been drugged and manipulated by Emily, and now he felt violated and betrayed. He started the engine and peeled out of the driveway, the tires screeching on the pavement.
As he drove down the road, his thoughts were racing. He couldn’t shake off the feeling of disgust and anger towards Emily. How could she have done something like that to him? He had trusted her and she had taken advantage of him. He couldn’t wait to get home and wash off the stench of her from his body.
Lucas pushed the pedal to the metal, driving faster than he should have. He weaved in and out of traffic, honking his horn at other cars and cursing under his breath. He was so angry that he didn’t care about the consequences of his reckless driving.
As he approached his neighborhood, he slowed down a bit, trying to calm himself down. He didn’t want to cause any accidents or get pulled over by the police. He took deep breaths, trying to steady his racing heartbeat.
Finally, he arrived at the gates of his mansion. He pressed the intercom button and waited for the gatekeeper to respond. After a few moments, the gate opened and he drove through, his tires crunching on the gravel driveway.
As he pulled up to the front door, he could see Andrianne sitting on the couch in the living room, her head down. He got out of the car and walked towards the front door, his heart heavy with guilt and shame.
Lucas opened the door and walked into the living room. Andrianne looked up, her eyes red and puffy from crying. She stood up and walked towards him, but he could see the disappointment and hurt in her eyes.
He opened his mouth to say something, but no words came out. He couldn’t even look her in the eyes. He felt like a complete failure, like he had let her down in the worst possible way.
Finally, he managed to choke out a few words. “I’m so sorry, Andrianne. I don’t even know where to start.”
Andrianne looked at him with a mixture of sadness and anger. “Where were you, Lucas? I waited up for you all night. I was so worried about you.”
Lucas hung his head in shame. “I got caught up with some work stuff. I didn’t mean to worry you.”
Andrianne shook her head, tears streaming down her face. “I don’t even know what to believe anymore. You promised me that you would never hurt me, but now I don’t know if I can trust you anymore.”
Lucas reached out to her, wanting to comfort her, but she pulled away. “I need some time, Lucas. I need to think about things.”
Lucas nodded, feeling defeated. He knew that he had messed up big time and that it was going to take a lot of work to earn back Andrianne’s trust. He walked out of the living room and into his bedroom, feeling empty and alone.
Days turned into weeks and Andrianne still couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was amiss. She tried to talk to Lucas several times but every time she tried, she felt like her words were not getting through to him. Lucas, on the other hand, seemed oblivious to her concerns and didn’t seem to understand why she was so distant.
One day, Andrianne came home from her charity work feeling exhausted. She had spent the whole day helping out at the local orphanage, and it had been emotionally draining. As she entered the house, she noticed Lucas was not there. She sighed and made her way to the kitchen to grab a glass of water.
As she sat down on the couch, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of loneliness. She missed the way things used to be between her and Lucas. She missed his smile, his touch, and his warmth. But she couldn’t deny the feeling that he was keeping something from her.
Suddenly, she heard the front door open and Lucas walked in. He seemed surprised to see her sitting there, and for a moment, they just looked at each other in silence.
“Hey,” he finally said, breaking the silence.
“Hey,” she replied, trying to keep her tone neutral.
“How was your day?”
“It was fine,” she said, taking a sip of water.
Lucas sighed and sat down next to her. “Andrianne, can we talk?”
Andrianne felt a knot form in her stomach. She had been dreading this conversation, but she knew it was necessary.
“Sure,” she said, putting down her glass.
“I know you’ve been distant lately, and I just wanted to say that I’m sorry. I know I’ve been busy with work and everything, but I promise I’ll make it up to you.”
Andrianne looked at him, her heart breaking. She knew he was trying, but it felt like he was missing the point.
“Lucas, it’s not about that,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “It’s about us. I feel like there’s something you’re not telling me.”
Lucas looked at her, his expression unreadable. “What do you mean?”
“I don’t know,” Andrianne said, her frustration growing. “It’s just this feeling I have. Like you’re hiding something from me.”
Lucas sighed and ran his hand through his hair. “Andrianne, I promise you, there’s nothing going on. I love you, and you’re the only one for me.”
Andrianne felt tears well up in her eyes. She knew he was lying, but she didn’t know how to prove it.
“Can we just forget about it for now?” Lucas said, his hand reaching for hers.
Andrianne pulled her hand away, feeling a wave of anger wash over her. “No, Lucas, we can’t. I need to know the truth. I can’t keep living like this.”
Lucas stood up, his expression growing defensive. “What do you want me to say, Andrianne? I’ve told you everything.”
Andrianne felt her resolve harden. “Then why do I still feel like something is off?”
Lucas shook his head, his frustration growing. “I don’t know, Andrianne. Maybe it’s just your imagination.”
Andrianne felt a hot wave of anger wash over her. “My imagination? How dare you!”
Lucas took a step back, his eyes widening in surprise. “Andrianne, I didn’t mean it like that.”
But it was too late. Andrianne had had enough. She stood up, her eyes blazing with anger. “I can’t do this anymore, Lucas. I just can’t,” she made her way to her room and slammed the door shut.
