Chapter 76
As the morning light broke through the curtains, Andrianne woke up to a realization that it was Lucas’ birthday. She jumped out of bed and went straight to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for him. She whipped up his favorite breakfast, pancakes with crispy bacon and eggs, a cup of coffee, and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.
She lit up candles on the pancakes and sang the birthday song as she made her way to their bedroom. She placed the tray on the bed, and Lucas woke up to the aroma of the delicious breakfast and Andrianne’s beautiful voice.
“Happy birthday, my love,” Andrianne said, planting a soft kiss on his cheek.
Lucas was taken aback by the surprise and smiled at her. “Thank you, baby. This is so sweet of you.”
They enjoyed their breakfast in bed, savoring every bite and talking about their plans for the day. Lucas mentioned he had to go to work but promised to make it up to her in the evening.
“I have a surprise for you tonight, my love,” Andrianne said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Lucas raised his eyebrows in surprise. “A surprise? What is it?”
Andrianne grinned. “It’s a surprise, Lucas. You’ll find out tonight. Just make sure you come home on time.”
Lucas chuckled. “I will. I wouldn’t want to miss your surprise.”
After Lucas left for work, Andrianne spent the rest of the morning planning for the evening’s events. She called up their favorite restaurant to make a reservation for a dinner date, picked out her outfit for the night, and decorated the living room with balloons and streamers.
As Lucas drove to his office, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of joy and gratitude. The sun was shining, and the weather was perfect. He rolled down the windows of his car, allowing the cool breeze to blow through his hair as he drove. The anticipation of the surprise Andrianne had planned for him filled his heart with warmth.
Upon arriving at his office, Lucas was surprised to find his staff members gathered around his desk, holding balloons and a birthday cake. They all wished him a happy birthday and sang a birthday song. Lucas felt touched by their thoughtfulness and felt grateful for the kind-hearted people he worked with.
“Happy birthday, Lucas!” exclaimed his assistant, Sarah.
“Thank you, Sarah! You guys didn’t have to do this,” replied Lucas, feeling a little embarrassed but also happy at the same time.
“Oh, but we wanted to,” said another staff member, Samantha. “And we have a few more surprises for you throughout the day.”
Lucas was surprised but also excited. He couldn’t wait to see what other surprises they had in store for him. He spent the day finishing up his work with a sense of joy and happiness.
During his lunch break, Lucas received a call from Andrianne, and the sound of her voice sent shivers down his spine. They talked about the dinner plans for the evening, and Lucas couldn’t help but feel grateful to have such a loving wife.
As the day progressed, Lucas received several gifts and well wishes from his staff. The surprise birthday party they had organized was a great success, and Lucas felt truly appreciated by his staff.
Lucas sat in his plush leather chair, looking out of the window as he reflected on the past year of his life. He had been through so much, but he was grateful for all the experiences that had brought him to where he was now. He had a loving wife, a successful career, and a bright future ahead of him. As he sat lost in thought, his phone rang, pulling him out of his reverie. He looked down to see his parents’ name on the screen and smiled.
“Hello, Mom and Dad! It’s so good to hear from you,” Lucas said, picking up the call.
“Happy birthday, son! We just wanted to call and wish you all the best on your special day,” his mother gushed.
“Thank you so much, Mom. It means a lot to me,” Lucas replied, his heart warmed by their well-wishes.
“How’s work going?” his father asked.
“It’s going well, thank you for asking. I have a few meetings to attend today, but I’m looking forward to celebrating with Andrianne tonight,” Lucas said, his voice filled with excitement.
“Ah, speaking of Andrianne, how is she doing?” his mother asked.
“She’s doing great. She’s planned a surprise for me tonight, and I can’t wait to see what it is,” Lucas said, a smile spreading across his face.
“Well, we won’t keep you from your busy day. We just wanted to call and say happy birthday again. We love you,” his father said.
“I love you both too. Thank you for the call,” Lucas replied before ending the call.
Lucas couldn’t help but feel grateful for his parents’ love and support. They had always been there for him, even during the toughest times. He took a deep breath, feeling the warmth of their words wash over him, and then turned his attention back to the work at hand. He had a lot to do, but he was determined to finish up quickly so he could spend the rest of his day celebrating with Andrianne.
Lucas smiled at Sarah and thanked her for informing him about the staff’s plan to celebrate his birthday. He was pleased that his staff wanted to celebrate with him, but he was also eager to leave work and spend the evening with Andrianne.
“Thanks, Sarah. I appreciate it,” Lucas said, looking at his watch. “I hope it won’t take too long.”
“It won’t, I promise,” Sarah replied, grinning. “We just wanted to wish you a happy birthday and toast to another great year.”
Lucas smiled and shook his head, feeling grateful for the team he had built. “You guys are the best. I’ll see you at the bar in thirty minutes.”
Sarah nodded and left his office, leaving Lucas to finish up his work before he could leave for the evening. As he worked, he couldn’t help but think about Andrianne and the surprise she had planned for him. He wondered what it could be, but he knew that whatever it was, it would be special because it was coming from her.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Lucas finished up his work and grabbed his jacket, ready to head out for the evening. He made his way down to the bar where his staff was waiting, and as soon as he walked in, they all cheered and wished him a happy birthday.
Lucas felt grateful and overwhelmed by their enthusiasm, and he spent the next half-hour chatting and laughing with his colleagues.
All through the evening, He couldn’t wait to see what she had planned for him, and he was looking forward to spending the rest of the evening with her, celebrating his birthday in a way that only she could make special.
