Chapter 75
Andrianne and Lucas held hands tightly as they drove back home. They were both overwhelmed with emotions and gratefulness that Lucas had been acquitted. The tension of the past few weeks had lifted and they were finally able to breathe easy again.
Andrianne couldn’t help but steal glances at Lucas while driving. He looked so handsome and at peace, like a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders. She was so grateful to have him by her side, especially after everything they had been through.
As they drove, they talked about everything that had happened since Lucas was arrested. Andrianne told him about how she had been followed by Emily’s men and how David had helped them come up with a plan to exonerate him. Lucas was amazed by her bravery and how she had stood by him through it all.
“I can’t believe how lucky I am to have you in my life, Andrianne,” Lucas said, squeezing her hand. “You are the strongest person I know.”
Andrianne blushed at his words, feeling a wave of happiness wash over her. She knew she had fallen helplessly in love with this man, and she didn’t care who knew it.
“I love you so much, Lucas,” Andrianne replied, smiling warmly at him. “I would do anything to protect you and keep you safe.”
“I know you would,” Lucas said, leaning over to give her a quick kiss on the cheek. “And I feel the same way about you.”
They continued talking and laughing, reminiscing about their past memories and making plans for their future together. Andrianne couldn’t believe how lucky she was to have found someone who loved and cared for her so deeply.
As they pulled into their driveway, Andrianne felt a sense of calm wash over her. She knew they still had some obstacles to face, but they would face them together. She was grateful for the love and support they had for each other, and she knew that they would always be there for each other no matter what.
The air was cool and fresh, and the birds were chirping happily in the trees. Andrianne unlocked the door and they stepped inside.
As they entered the house, Andrianne felt a sense of relief wash over her. It was good to be home, and even better to be here with her husband. Lucas squeezed her hand and gave her a reassuring smile.
“I’m so glad to be back home with you,” he said softly.
Andrianne smiled back at him, feeling her heart swell with love. “Me too,” she said. “I can’t believe it’s finally over.”
Lucas nodded, his face serious. “Yeah, it’s been a long road, but we made it through together.”
Andrianne felt a tear trickle down her cheek as she realized how much she loved this man. She threw her arms around him and buried her face in his chest. He held her close, his arms wrapped around her tightly.
“I love you so much,” she whispered.
“I love you too, Andrianne,” Lucas said, his voice thick with emotion.
They held each other for a few moments longer, savoring the feeling of being reunited. Then Andrianne pulled away and wiped her tears. She took Lucas’s hand and led him into the living room.
As they sat down on the couch, Andrianne couldn’t help but feel grateful for everything they had been through together. The trials and tribulations had only brought them closer, and she knew that they would be able to overcome anything as long as they were together.
Lucas leaned over and kissed her gently on the lips, and Andrianne melted into his embrace. They sat there, wrapped up in each other’s arms, feeling like nothing else in the world mattered.
Eventually, they pulled away from each other and just sat there, content in each other’s presence. Andrianne looked over at Lucas and smiled.
“I’m so happy to have you back,” she said.
Lucas grinned. “I’m happy to be back, too. And I have to say, I missed this place.”
Andrianne laughed. “Well, we have a lot of catching up to do,” she said. “Let’s start by enjoying the rest of this day together.”
Lucas nodded, a look of pure contentment on his face. “I couldn’t think of anything I’d rather do,” he said, and they settled in for a quiet afternoon at home.
Andrianne and Lucas spent the whole day together, enjoying each other’s company and basking in the happiness of Lucas’s acquittal. They didn’t want to be bothered by anyone or anything, so they decided to stay in and just relax.
They started the day with a long, lazy breakfast in bed. Andrianne had made all of Lucas’s favorite foods and they spent hours eating and chatting. They talked about everything and anything, from their hopes and dreams to the mundane details of their everyday lives.
After breakfast, they took a walk around their estate, holding hands and taking in the beautiful scenery around them. They walked through the gardens and the woods, stopping to smell the flowers and watch the birds.
As they walked, they talked about their future together. They talked about starting a family, traveling the world, and growing old together. They laughed and joked, feeling completely at ease with each other.
After their walk, they went back inside and curled up on the couch together. They watched a movie, cuddled under a blanket, and shared a big bowl of popcorn.
Later in the afternoon, Andrianne suggested they take a dip in the pool. Lucas agreed, and they changed into their swimsuits and headed outside.
They swam and splashed around in the cool water, playing games and enjoying each other’s company. They floated on their backs and watched the clouds drift by, feeling completely relaxed and carefree.
As the sun began to set, they got out of the pool and dried off. They headed back inside and ordered in dinner from their favorite restaurant. They spent the rest of the evening snuggled up on the couch, watching TV and enjoying each other’s company.
As the night wore on, they both started to feel sleepy. They headed up to bed, tired but happy after a perfect day together. They fell asleep in each other’s arms, feeling grateful for the love they had found in each other.
