Chapter 73
David sat across from Andrianne in her luxurious living room, his eyes scanning the documents in front of him. Andrianne sat on the edge of her seat, anxiously waiting for his verdict. Finally, David looked up and gave a small nod.
“I think I have a plan,” he said slowly, his eyes meeting Andrianne’s. “But it’s risky.”
Andrianne leaned in, her heart pounding in her chest. “What is it? I’ll do anything to help Lucas.”
David took a deep breath. “We’re going to use your pregnancy as leverage.”
Andrianne’s eyes widened. “What do you mean?”
David explained his plan in detail. They would use Andrianne’s pregnancy as a bargaining chip to get the FBI off Lucas’s back. They would tell the FBI that if they didn’t drop the charges against Lucas, they would go public with the fact that Andrianne was pregnant with Lucas’s child, and that the stress and anxiety caused by the charges could harm the baby.
Andrianne looked skeptical. “But what if they don’t believe us?”
David smiled wryly. “They will. Trust me, the FBI doesn’t want that kind of negative publicity.”
Andrianne looked down at her belly, rubbing it gently. She was still in shock that she was going to be a mother. But now, with David’s plan, she had a newfound determination to protect her unborn child and her husband.
“Okay,” she said firmly. “Let’s do it.”
David nodded, his eyes shining with a glimmer of hope. “Good. We’ll set up a meeting with the FBI and see what they say.”
Andrianne nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. Finally, she had a plan to help Lucas. She knew it wouldn’t be easy, but she was willing to do whatever it takes to keep her family together.
As David gathered his things to leave, Andrianne couldn’t help but feel grateful for his help. She knew she couldn’t do this alone.
“Thank you, David,” she said quietly as he made his way to the door.
David turned and smiled at her. “Don’t thank me yet. We still have a long way to go.”
And with that, he was gone, leaving Andrianne to ponder the uncertain road ahead.
David and Andrianne continued to brainstorm ideas for how to help Lucas. They went through all possible scenarios and legal strategies, analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of each one.
One option was to try and prove that Lucas was not in the vicinity of the crime scene at the time of Steve’s murder. However, this was difficult to do since there were no witnesses or video footage that could support this claim.
Another option was to argue that Steve had a history of violent behavior and that Lucas acted in self-defense. But this would require evidence that Steve had a history of violence, which was not easy to come by.
David then suggested that they focus on the fact that Andrianne had shot Steve in an act of self-defense. They could argue that Lucas was only present because he was trying to protect his wife and that he had no involvement in the actual shooting.
Andrianne was hesitant at first, not wanting to put all the blame on herself and potentially face legal repercussions. But David explained that this was their best chance of getting Lucas off the hook and that they could work to minimize any potential consequences for Andrianne.
They spent hours going over the details of the case, poring over the evidence and analyzing every possible angle. They were both exhausted and stressed, but they knew that they had to keep working to save Lucas.
Finally, they came up with a plan that they both felt confident about. They would argue that Andrianne acted in self-defense and that Lucas was only present to protect his wife. They would also argue that Steve was a violent individual and that his behavior had put Andrianne in a life-threatening situation.
Andrianne felt a sense of relief knowing that they had a plan, but she still couldn’t shake the feeling of guilt and worry. She confided in David, telling him that she was terrified of the potential consequences and of what would happen to Lucas if they failed.
David listened patiently, then reminded her that they were doing everything in their power to help Lucas. He promised to keep her informed every step of the way and to do everything he could to minimize any potential consequences for her.
Andrianne nodded, feeling a little more reassured. She knew that they had a long road ahead of them, but she also knew that she had a strong legal team behind her and a loyal friend in Jackie. With their support, she felt ready to face whatever came her way.
Andrianne was overjoyed when David told her about his plan to exonerate Lucas. She couldn’t believe that there was a way out of this nightmare that had consumed her life. She felt like she had been carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders for so long, and now there was a light at the end of the tunnel.
David had spent countless hours poring over the evidence, and he had found a loophole that could get Lucas off the hook. He explained to Andrianne that there was a possibility that the prosecution’s case could be thrown out if they could prove that the evidence was obtained illegally. He had discovered that one of the officers involved in the case had a history of fabricating evidence, and he believed that they could use that information to their advantage.
Andrianne couldn’t contain her excitement. She felt like a heavy burden had been lifted from her shoulders. She had been so worried about the possibility of her husband going to jail that she had been unable to sleep or eat properly. But now, she finally had some hope that things could turn out alright.
“David, thank you so much for everything you’re doing for us,” Andrianne said, tears streaming down her face. “I don’t know how I can ever repay you for this.”
David smiled at her. “Don’t worry about it. It’s my job to make sure that justice is served, and in this case, it looks like justice might be on our side.”
Andrianne hugged him tightly, feeling overwhelmed with gratitude. She couldn’t believe that someone could be so dedicated to their job, and so willing to go above and beyond for their clients.
Over the next few days, Andrianne watched anxiously as David put his plan into action. He filed a motion to have the evidence thrown out, citing the officer’s history of fabricating evidence. Andrianne couldn’t help but feel a sense of dread in the pit of her stomach. She was worried that the prosecution would find a way to get around the motion, or that they would discover some other piece of evidence that would incriminate Lucas.
But as the days passed, Andrianne began to feel more and more confident. David was constantly updating her on the progress of the case, and he assured her that everything was going according to plan. Andrianne started to relax, and she found that she was finally able to sleep at night without worrying about her husband’s fate.
And then, one day, the news came. The judge had ruled in their favor, and the evidence against Lucas had been thrown out. Andrianne felt like a huge weight had been lifted from her shoulders. She had been so worried that her husband would end up in jail, but now it looked like he was going to be exonerated.
She immediately called Lucas’s father to tell him the good news. “Dad, they threw out the evidence!” she exclaimed. “Lucas is going to be okay!”
His father was overjoyed. “That’s wonderful news, Andrianne. You have no idea how relieved I am to hear that.”
Andrianne could feel the tears welling up in her eyes. She had been so worried that she would lose everything that she had worked so hard for, but now it looked like she had a second chance. She was grateful for David’s hard work and dedication, and for Jackie’s unwavering support. Most of all, she was grateful for her husband, who had stood by her through everything.
