His… little girlfriend? Elena was stunned, but she did not refute him.
Nothing else had mattered at that point. The most important thing was to help him recover that big project. CEO Berry’s face soured even more after he saw Second Young Master Sharp.
They could not accept the reason for his tardiness was to accompany his little girlfriend to the hospital. His girlfriend did not look unwell; perhaps she felt only a little uncomfortable. He had made CEO Berry wait an entire morning for such a trivial matter!
How could he ever cooperate with such an unreliable Second Young Master Sharp? Everyone could see CEO Berry’s anger.
Apart from Second Young Master Sharp, no one there could muster a smile. If he had delayed the meeting because his girlfriend felt uncomfortable, then what would happen if they were to cooperate in the future?
Elena was worried that she was the reason the project was botched. She pondered it for a few moments before she covered her mouth and retched in front of everyone.
She was unwell and had to go to the hospital, and then she had started to retch. Everyone was stunned. Those who were older could tell what that meant.
Henry’s smile was a bit stiff because of the girl, but he looked like he managed to calm down rather quickly. He smiled at CEO Berry after he supported Elena as she struggled to stop her nausea. “I’m really sorry, she’s had a little accident…”
He did not even make it clear what the accident was, but his nervous smile defined his feelings then. The way he stared at the girl in his arms suggested that he pampered her. How could anyone not see that?
Physical discomfort was a trivial matter, but pregnancy was a big deal!
“CEO Berry, I’m sorry. I didn’t do it on purpose, and Henry wasn’t—” She started to retch again.
“Little Du, take Miss Garcia in, quickly, and let her rest,” Ashton immediately barked an order.
Little Du hurried toward Elena and greeted her respectfully, “Miss Garcia, let me take you inside so that you can rest.”
Elena nodded, but she did not forget to offer her apologies to CEO Berry before she left. “I’m very sorry about this, CEO Berry, it’s all my fault, my apologies.”
“It’s okay, it’s okay. Your health is more important than some meetings.”
How could a big man like him argue with a little girl, who was unwell but still managed to apologize to him? CEO Berry’s anger had dissipated when he saw Elena’s pitiful appearance.
Henry smiled and said, “Since we’ve already reached this point, CEO Berry, why don’t you come to our restaurant and have a meal with us so that we can talk about things?”
CEO Berry looked at him. He knew that it would be beneficial for his company to cooperate with Sharp Corporation. He simply found it hard to control the anger that he had felt earlier that morning. He would not have waited that long if they were not a good business partner.
Since everyone there had a distinguished status, he could only hold back his anger. After a moment’s thought, CEO Berry nodded.
Ashton breathed a sigh of relief and immediately said, “I’ll prepare lunch for everyone. Right this way, please!”

Elena stayed briefly in the main building. After Henry and CEO Berry left the lobby, she sneaked back to September Media. After lunch, she met up with Layla and Lois as they came back from university.
Layla’s eyes lit up when she saw Elena. Together with Lois, Layla dragged Elena to the corner and nearly tortured a confession out of Elena.
“No, no, no, don’t get too excited! Be careful!”
Lois reminded Layla as she was afraid the brash woman might accidentally hit Elena’s abdomen. Layla was also taken aback by her actions. She looked at Elena’s stomach anxiously and asked, “I didn’t do anything bad, did I?”
Elena did not know whether she would laugh or cry at their cautious looks at her.
“I heard that everything’s quite messed up?” she asked. It did not take a genius to know about that.
“You’re pregnant! Everyone in the entire company knows about that now!”
“That’s right! Second Young Master Sharp even brought you to the doctor and abandoned his meeting with CEO Berry. The company almost lost tens of billions in this project because of you.”
“Yeah! Everyone knows about it, and you said you weren’t involved with him!”
They had forced her into a corner, and there was no escape! Elena helplessly said, “I’m not involved with him. I was only pretending. I wanted to help him recover that project, so I pretended to be nauseous so that they could understand the delay. Don’t you get it?”
“If you only pretended, then why were you with him before that?” Layla was skeptical of her answer.
Lois went straight to the point. “Everyone saw you coming back to the office together. In other words, Second Young Master Sharp had abandoned CEO Berry for you.”
Even if she were not pregnant, she still had something to do with that. He had decided to forego tens of billions for her sake. If other men would not even do that for their wives, let alone a woman who had no relationship with the man.
Would anyone believe that?
Lois’s perceptive questions left Elena speechless. She told them that she sought Henry’s company because she was in a bad mood. Second Young Master Sharp even turned off his cell phone even though he knew he had an important meeting.
Did that explanation not reveal everything that Elena had intended to hide? Was she sure that they were not involved with what had happened? It seemed like she could not even convince herself.
“Look, Elena’s blushing!” Layla sharp eyes noticed that at once.
Elena was stunned, and she instinctively reached for her cheek.
It felt warm.
“Can’t hold it in any longer? Wanna confess something to us?” Lois smiled mischievously.
There had been a rumor that she had a relationship with Second Young Master Sharp to win the comic contest.
Lois had not believed it then, but in hindsight, it appeared as though Second Young Master Sharp had tried to get close to Elena even then.
Of course, they had won the championship with their skills, but the rumor about Elena and Henry persisted.
“No, you must treat us to dinner!” The boyfriend of a couple in a relationship must treat them to a meal. That was the rule!
“That’s right; we must go to the best restaurant in all of Bentson and eat the most expensive dishes!”
“Yes, we’ll gladly decide on which restaurant! It’s definitely not going to be that easy if he wants to woo our Elena. We must eat the best food available.”
“I’ll text Second Young Master Sharp now!”
“Hey! What are you doing?” That shocked Elena into action, and she immediately reached out to grab Layla’s phone.
However, Layla kept hold of her phone and walked away quickly. “I just wanted to tell him that it won’t be too easy to woo you quietly.”
“Yes, Layla, let him make a bit of effort. A lot of effort!”
“Layla, I’m not involved with him, please don’t do anything ridiculous.”
Fortunately, they were on the eighth floor, where a few of their main employees did their work. At that moment, only a few of them would show up there. Otherwise, it would not be appropriate for their subordinates to see their managers gossiped like ladies in the market.
“Why don’t you try asking other people if they believe that the two of you aren’t involved with each other? God knows where you were the entire morning.”
Layla was unwilling to stop there. “We have this rule. Anyone who’s in a relationship must treat the others to a meal. If Second Young Master Sharp doesn’t treat us, then we can’t let you be with him!”
Amid the commotion, no one noticed that the elevator door had opened with a ding, and a slender figure walked out of it. He had heard Layla’s words.
The man coughed lightly and smiled. “Didn’t I already treat you to a fancy dinner yesterday?”
