“She was the one who started the fight, Big Brother.” Snowy bit her lip as she explained eagerly, “Renee was just helping me to teach this horrible woman a lesson.”
“No, it wasn’t me.” A stream of warm tears suddenly flowed down Ava’s cheek.
“Grandmother said that the driver was waiting for me. I was heading to the gate, and I did not expect to meet them here. They were angry that I have been living with Grandmother for a few days and started hitting me.”
Michael’s eyes darkened when he heard how she addressed the old lady. Fortunately, Ava had paid close attention to his expressions, so she quickly explained herself when she noticed the changes in his eyes.
“I’m sorry, Eldest Young Master Williams… The old madam told me to address her as Grandmother. I have been calling her that for two days now, so it was hard to kick that habit suddenly.”
She bit her lip pitifully. “I would never dare to…”
“Big Brother, this b*tch is pretending!”
Snowy did not expect that Ava had such excellent acting skills. She remembered the proud look on Ava; that young lady was not even part of the Williams family, and yet she had dared to act so arrogantly. How ridiculous was that? Then she had dared to pretend she was a victim in front of Michael!
Snowy felt like giving her a hard kick. “Big Brother, she had behaved so arrogantly just moments ago, before you arrived!”
“I’m just an outsider from the small Garcia family. How would I dare to offend Young Miss Williams?”
Ava looked at Michael with a pitiful expression.
“Maybe Sixth Young Miss Williams was troubled that I referred to the old madam as Grandmother. I’m sorry, I won’t repeat that in the future. Eldest Young Master Williams, please don’t be angry.”
Michael glanced at her briefly and then turned to look at Snowy. Snowy was flustered as she felt a chill in her back.
“Big Brother, I… I just got angry that she dared to address Grandmother like she’s one of us.”
“Do you often hit people like this?” Michael suddenly asked her.
Snowy shrank back before she carefully replied, “I… No, I don’t…”
“A maid had committed suicide last month. Did you have anything to do with that?”
“Big Brother, that maid killed herself for unknown reasons. Why would that have anything to do with me?”
Snowy took a step back and tried to straighten herself. “Didn’t Daddy already say that the incident had nothing to do with me?”
“Dad has always been too lenient on you. He has made you into this wayward and unruly person. You never admit your fault or apologize for them.”
With a wave of his hands, two bodyguards came out from nowhere and immediately walked toward Snowy.
“Take her back to the house and lock her in her room. She’s grounded for a week, and no one is allowed to let her out.”
“Yes, sir!”
“Big Brother! You’re grounding me for this woman?”
Snowy never thought that her eldest brother would stand up for Ava. Even though the siblings rarely interacted, they were still siblings who shared the same father!
“Big Brother! Can’t you see that she’s playing you? Why are you and Grandmother like this?”
“What’s so great about those two women from the Garcia family that you are protecting them? I am your sister, Big Brother…”
“Take her away!” She had refused to move, so the bodyguards had to carry her.
“Big Brother…”
The two bodyguards did not show any pity for Snowy as they forcefully escorted her away. They dragged and tugged her along to her room. Renee was terrified and dumbstruck when she saw how they pulled Snowy away. Snowy was Michael’s sister while she was only a cousin.
“Apologize!”
Renee was right to be scared; she was next in line to get a punishment after Snowy.
As soon as Michael said that, Renee’s legs buckled, and she sat on the ground with a thud.
“I… Big Brother, I…”
“Apologize and give yourself as many slaps as you have kicked her.”
Michael was not a patient person; he had never liked to repeat himself.
“Big Brother…” Renee called out in a desolate tone.
Michael turned away, and once he left the scene, Renee would be in deep s*it!
Renee dared not take the risk, so she hurriedly turned toward Ava. “I’m sorry, it’s my fault. Please forgive me!”
She could not remember how many times she had kicked Ava, but she did not dare to disobey Michael. Hence, she started to slap herself on both of her cheeks. Both her arms swung violently in rhythm. Slap! Slap! Slap! It sounded so loud and clear.
That was an eye-opening experience for Ava. She did not expect that Eldest Young Master Williams would make those young misses suffer such wretched fate with a few casual words. Renee had not only apologized to her, but she even slapped herself on her cheeks. She felt as if she was on top of the world.
After a few moments, Ava finally whispered, “Forget it.”
She looked at Young Master Williams and mumbled, “We should forgive others’ wrongdoings. She’s not that bad; it was Sixth Young Miss Williams who influenced her.”
Renee had lost count of the number of slaps that she delivered onto her cheeks. It was such a hard lesson for a wealthy young miss because she had kicked someone else! She had tears in the corners of her eyes, but she dared not let them fall. Her eldest brother could never stand it when a woman cried in front of him. Renee only stopped when Michael waved his hand.
She looked at Michael pitifully and whispered, “Are you satisfied now, Big Brother?”
“Why are you asking me?” Michael was expressionless; he was as cold as an ice sculpture.
Renee took a deep breath and glared at Ava. She did not feel wronged even though she was ordered to slap herself. However, she felt unjustified when her brother told her to ask the pretentious woman for forgiveness. Tears pooled in her eyes, but Renee gritted her teeth and held them back!
“Miss Garcia, are you… satisfied?”
Her lips were terribly sore. Ava did feel satisfied, but she was careful not to show that she was pleased about it. On the contrary, she feigned a compassionate demeanor.
“It’s a pity that you’re hurt like this.”
“I don’t need your pity!” Renee balled her fists.
What a wicked woman! If she were a kind person, she would not have waited for Renee to slap herself for so long before she said something to stop it.
She was in pain, but she still managed to ask, “Miss Garcia, are you satisfied?”
“Sorry, I…” Ava looked at Eldest Young Master Williams.
As usual, his face was like a thousand-year-old iceberg; there was not a trace of emotion on it.
Ava murmured, “I don’t need you to apologize. I’m fine.”
Renee immediately stood up and looked at Michael. “Big Brother…”
“Don’t act so atrociously with Snowy in the future.” That was a scolding from a big brother.
“I understand.” Renee lowered her head and then hurriedly left.
If one were to listen intently, one could hear her sobbed. She only started to cry after she left the scene. She did not shed a tear in front of Eldest Young Master Williams.
Ava glanced at Michael, and she felt intoxicated when she looked into her eyes. She knew that Eldest Young Master Williams was one of the most influential people in the world. She could climb to the top if she were the woman that he loved.
“Eldest Young Master Williams.” She bit her lower lip as she feigned weakness. “I’m alright, I…”
However, the man coldly interrupted her. “Why don’t you get up if you are fine?”
