“No matter how many men there are who are better than you, it’s none of my business. I like you and no one can replace you!”
They were in a stalemate until one in the afternoon. Alvin looked at the watch on his wrist, “Let’s go. I’ll take you to buy a plane ticket.”
He pulled her up and dragged her hard in the direction of the airport. Lena struggled, “Let go of me. I won’t go back. I told you.”
“Stop it!”
Alvin growled angrily, “I am annoyed.”
When he forcefully dragged Lena into the airport and bought her ticket, Lean rolled her eyes and slipped into a secluded place to hide.
He wanted to let her go? No way. It took her much effort to find him.
Alvin bought the ticket and found that the person behind him was gone. He looked around for her, frowning. Lena hid in the dark and watched him walk around anxiously. She felt happy.
And then Lena found that Alvin was gone. In fact, Alvin was going to check the security tape. His intuition told her that Lena must still be at the airport.
She was looking around. When her shoulder was suddenly patted by someone, she looked back in horror and saw that it was Alvin. She became nervous.
“Do you still want to continue playing hide and seek with me?”
Alvin glared at her and ordered, “Come with me.”
Lena threw his hand away and cried out, “Do you have to do this to me? Do you know how did I feel when I came to you?”
“Don’t think I don’t know that you snuck out. Your brother already called me.”
“Did he make you force me to go back, or did you yourself not want to see me in the first place?”
“I’m not out to have fun. I’m in a bad mood. I want to be alone. Will you leave me alone?”
“I won’t bother you. I’ll be quiet and stay by your side. As long as we can eat and talk together, I’ll be satisfied.”
Alvin rubbed his forehead in annoyance, “Did I not make myself clear enough? I want to be alone. Even if you stay by my side without saying a word, I’ll feel uncomfortable. Do you understand?”
Lena stopped talking, and her eyes were wet with tears. After a long silence, the boarding tips for her flight came from the hall. She didn’t say anything. She grabbed the ticket in the hands of Alvin and left without looking back.
Alvin looked at her back. He wanted to say something, but in the end, he said nothing. A moment later, he received a text message on his phone, “Even if you don’t like me, you don’t have to show it. You can just have dinner with me occasionally as you did in the past, and I’ll be happy. I think you like me, but he just doesn’t say it.”
Lena went to find Alvin excitedly but went back at lost. She returned home without saying a word and went upstairs with an expressionless look.
In the evening, when Bella came back from the company, she heard the maid at home say that Lena was back. Bella rushed to Lena’s room and saw her sleeping on the bed with the blanket over her face. Bella asked worriedly, “What’s wrong, Lena? Why are you back so soon?”
In fact, she already had a bad feeling about it.
“Bella, it is the last time that I have been so thick-skinned to please Alvin.”
Lena’s voice was probably hoarse from crying for a long time. Alvin’s coldness was the largest blow to her.
Bella didn’t know what to say. She could understand the helplessness of one-sided love. She could only comfort her sister-in-law, “Well, it’s good to fight through. Alvin doesn’t like you. It’s not your fault. It’s his loss. One day he’ll regret it.”
Boo-hoo…
Lena threw herself into her sister-in-law’s arms and cried loudly. Lean was rejected by Alvin again. She was heartbroken.
Bella heartbreakingly stroked her hair, allowing her to vent the bitterness in her heart. Gradually, Lena stopped crying. Even the sound of sobbing could not be heard.
Bella felt something was wrong. When she looked down, she was shocked to find that her sister-in-law had fainted.
“Lena, Lena!!” Bella cried out in panic, but Lena had no consciousness or awareness.
In the hospital filled with the smell of disinfectant, Bella and her family anxiously waiting outside the door of the scrambling room. Kevin stood in front of the window with a gloomy face. Bella struggled for a long time before she walked over and said guiltily, “I’m sorry…”
Kevin glanced at her, “Why did you say you’re sorry?”
“I shouldn’t have encouraged Sunny to go to Alvin. If she didn’t go to him, she wouldn’t have…”
“Never mind. It was bound to happen sooner or later. It was because of Alvin.”
“She’ll be okay, right?”
“We won’t know until the doctor comes out.”
Kevin looked serious. Bella couldn’t help but feel even guiltier, silently praying in her heart that her sister-in-law would be out of danger as soon as possible. Otherwise, she would definitely blame herself for the rest of her life.
The lights in the emergency room went out. The doctor came out, and all the people anxiously gathered around, “How is it? How’s my daughter?”
“She needs to be operated on as soon as possible. There’s already bleeding on the brain.”
“What’s a better time?”
“Three days from now.”
Blanche agreed, “Okay, then three days later.”
It was an operation that had to be done sooner or later anyway. After it was done, there would be no need to be on edge anymore.
Lena knew about her illness, but she didn’t act overly excited. If she couldn’t get Alvin’s love, it didn’t matter anymore whether she lived or died.
The night before the operation, Alvin came to her hospital room. He didn’t wake her up. He just looked at her.
Lena woke up as if there was telepathy. She saw the person sitting beside her. She suspected it was a dream and asked woodenly, “Why are you here?”
“I heard you were sick, so I came back to check on you.”
“I’m fine. You can leave.”
She looked away, not wanting to talk to him anymore.
“Lena, let’s date.”
Alvin suddenly said. Lena was startled, thinking that she had misheard, “What did you say?”
“I say let’s date on the basis of love and marriage.”
Her heartbeat quickened, but she didn’t dare to rejoice too soon. She sat up, “Why did you change your mind suddenly? Is it because of pity for me?”
“No, it’s to try dating you to see if maybe you really are the right person for me.”
Alvin looked serious. Lena could no longer hold back her excitement and happily jumped into his arms. She hugged him tightly.
Even if this was a dream, she was willing to get drunk…
Perhaps because of the power of love, Lena’s surgery went well. The whole family felt relieved. Alvin accompanied Lena every day. Therefore, Bella continued to share the worries with Kevin in the company.
On this day, there was an unexpected visitor in the company. As soon as Freya walked into the secretary’s office, they were both stunned. Bella stared at Freya.
“What are you doing here?”
“That’s what I should be asking you. What are you doing here?”
Bella laughed, “It’s my husband’s company. I am here to help him.”
“Oh,” Freya snorted sarcastically, “Kevin’s company hasn’t fallen so far behind that he wants you to help out for him, right?”
“I’m happy to do so. It is none of your business.”
Freya’s face fell as she walked straight towards the CEO’s office. She turned back with a sarcastic remark when she was about to knock on the door, “You can’t have children anyway. You can only have to find something else to do, or else there’s really no value in your existence at all.”
Bella threw a folder at her, but it only hit the door. Freya had flashed into the office.
Half an hour later, Freya came out. When she passed by Bella, she gave her an extremely disdainful glance and walked away with her head held high.
As soon as she left, Kevin also came out. He lay on the edge of the desk of Bella and looked up at her, “What? Are you angry?”
Bella looked up in anger and asked, “What’s she doing here?”
“What else can she do? We talked about the evidence.”
“Is it settled?”
“She asked me out tomorrow night to talk.”
Bella frowned, “Did you say yes?”
“Well, we’ll have to settle it sooner or later anyway. Sooner rather than later.”
“Did you agree on where to talk?”
“It is up to me.”
“And where are you going to talk?”
“Just go to the clubhouse that I always go to.”
Once she heard that it was the clubhouse he often went to, she felt relieved. She thoughtfully instructed him, “Be careful. Freya is no longer the one you knew in the beginning.”
Kevin nodded, “Don’t worry. I know what to do.”
