“Look in the mirror first.”
Bella said what he had once said and snorted disdainfully.
“And what’s with that look of anger? Do I owe you money?”
Kevin raised eyebrows and questioned her. Just now he felt very embarrassed. He was annoyed by her disdainful attitude. Subconsciously, he actually wanted her to be jealous.
The more he didn’t care about others, the more he wanted to be cared about by others. This was the most extreme psychology of a typical hurt man.
“I’m angry because you’re stupid. You even believe the words of Gillian.”
Just out of the guest room, she did not immediately walk away, but hid outside the door, so she heard that he did not apply medicine for her.
“What about you? And how smart are you? How dare you say you weren’t sold to our family by Wilson?”
“Yes, I was sold at eighteen million, and I’m not sure you could be sold for that amount.”
“You…”
Kevin was so angry that this woman dared to disobey him. It seemed that he had punished her enough last night.
He was just about to give her a lesson, but her phone suddenly rang. She answered as she walked into the secret room, “Hello?”
The call was from Wilson, and the topic was never far from profit.
“Bella, it’s me, Dad.”
“What is it that you’re calling so late?” In fact, she already knew it by heart.
As expected, she guessed correctly.
“It’s no big deal, about the tender of the Jones-Sharps Group. Could you ask Kevin what kind of conditions would be more promising to win the tender?”
Bella was silent for a while, but no longer refused, faintly replied, “Okay, I’ll ask for you, but I can’t guarantee I can get the answer you want. Kevin is scrupulous in separating public from private interests.”
As soon as Wilson heard her promise, he felt much hopeful. No matter how clear the distinction between public and private, it was impossible for him not to listen to the wife who shared the same bed.
“Good, I leave it to you. Bella, you are really a good daughter.”
He said disgusting words without any subtlety or guilt, but it didn’t matter. Because he wasn’t a good father to her, so she wasn’t a good daughter to him either.
If affection could be measured in benefits, then there would be no need for affection between them.
Bella didn’t really ask about the Kevin tender, and she believed that her father must have also approached him, only to be rejected by him, so, he had to come to her.
From now on, she was going to be a bad woman.
Her plan was going to start working bit by bit, and the pain that had been inflicted on her was going to be returned to those who had bestowed it on her.
On Friday afternoon, she had no classes, and went home early. Once she arrived home, she came to Gillian, reprimanding, “I have no opinion about how long you live here, but behave yourself, and do not treat this place as your own home to do whatever you want.”
Gillian was not a pushover. Her face fell, “What do you mean?”
“Don’t you dare say you didn’t walk around when we weren’t home?”
“What’s wrong with me walking around? Does it bother you? Blanche let me treat this place like my own home. Why are you shouting?
“I wouldn’t say anything if you were really just walking around casually, but you’re casually going into other people’s rooms and touching their things without their permission, making me lose face, and even more so, making others talk about us uneducated behind our backs!”
“Who said that? Whose room am I in? Whose things has been touched?”
Bella was annoyed, and had never been wronged before.
“It doesn’t matter who said it. What’s important is that someone reflected it to me. This is the Cloud Mansion, the richest family in B City. All the servants here are more than ten times than in the Burne-Browns. Do you think you can muddle through without admitting it with many people looking at you?”
“Then can you let him confront with me? only a fool would admit to a trumped-up charge!”
“I’ve already warned you anyway. If you don’t behave yourself, then Blanche will personally drive you away. Let’s see how you lose face.”
Gillian was thoroughly annoyed, and rushed towards the stairs with akimbo, “I’m going to ask, which bastard is speaking ill of me!”
“Stop.”
Bella coldly stopped her, “Have you done quarreling? Now Blanche still doesn’t know, if you go to yell this, the whole family will know. Blanche will still be disgusted with you. No one likes to have their home stirred up by outsiders.”
This really calmed Gillian. She stopped her pace, but she couldn’t be obedient, “Then do I have to endure this unjust injustice?”
“If you behave yourself, no one will wrong you.”
“You still don’t believe me? I’m your own sister, and I swear to God I haven’t been in anyone’s room or touched anyone’s things!”
Bella smiled mockingly, “It’s a little late to admit that you’re my sister. I don’t think you’ve been wronged.”
Gillian’s face black with rage, “I’m afraid the one who slandered me is you. I really can’t think of anyone who hates me more than you.”
“Whatever you think. You can’t do anything meaningful anyway.”
“So you’re admitting it.”
Bella was just about to step into the room when she was stopped by an angry glare from Gillian.
“I’m not admitting it. It’s just that you think so.” She entered the room, and Gillian followed her in, insisting that Bella was the one who had wronged her.
Tired of being pestered by her, Bella growled angrily, “Stop bothering me. Do you think everyone is like you and does nothing all day? To put it bluntly, you’re really no different from a loser, except for spending your parents’ money. You can’t help the family with a little bit of worry. You are all day boasting about being a Miss, but never did what a miss should do. All the difficulties were solved by me, and if I hadn’t sold myself, where would my father get the money to pay the bank debts. Now that my father wants to get the work that the bids of the Jones-Sharp Group, he also has to come to me. Besides being born of a dancer, how am I not better than you?”
Gillian from birth was taken care of carefully, who has been scolded as the waste, and was angry, crazy, and hysterical, “Don’t try to put feathers in your cap. Do you think you are the savior? You’re just a slutty girl trained by your mother. If my mother hadn’t stopped you, what right do you have to show off with me today? You’re just the same lowly one I trampled underfoot…”
“Don’t feel disgruntled. If you have the ability, make some achievements to show me. If you can help your father get what he wants, then come back to me and tell me that I’m not important. Otherwise, I’ll have to assume that the Burne-Browns just can’t survive without me.”
Bella managed to infuriate Gillian, who spoke out without even thinking, “Fine, then just wait for me, I will convince you!”
“We’ll see.”
Bella shrugged and pointed to the door, “Now please get out, I need to change clothes.”
“I’d like to see who will be the winner.”
Gillian glared at her angrily, slamming the door and leaving.
After changing clothes, Bella came next door again, and said to the woman who was still sulking inside, “I just forgot to remind you. You shouldn’t enter Kevin’s study. He has many important documents inside. If you dare to take a step, no one can save you, including me.”
“Get lost. Don’t fake mercy!”
Gillian grasped madly a pillow and threw it over to her. It impartially fell into Bella’s hands, and she threw it back, “If you feel unhappy living here, carry your luggage and walk out. No one will stop you.”
Bella looked cold at her. Gillian gnashed her teeth, and would not fall for her trick, thinking that Bella just wanted to drive her away.
The sound of high heels fading away, Gillian began to pace back and forth in the room. There was a moment, she really wanted to leave this hellhole, but she was reluctant to let Bella despise her even more.
No, she absolutely could not be cowardly. Everyone could mock her except Bella. If she lost to Bella who she disdained, then she would rather die.
But what now? Begged for Kevin? He was so cold to her, so she really didn’t have any confidence that Kevin would give her a chance to prove herself because of her begging.
It was already late. Gillian was worried. The maid downstairs came to call her for dinner, but she excused herself from feeling uncomfortable and didn’t go downstairs. She asked by the way whether Bella and Kevin had returned, and the maid replied no.
Thinking of Bella’s warning, she was not allowed to step into the Kevin’s study. She suddenly came up with an idea. There may be something she wanted in the study.
She was determined and quietly sneaked into the opposite study, before this, she really did not step into any room.
The study was dark. She fumbled for a while, before finding the switch. Then she turned on the light, and began to look for documents related to the tender project rashly.
When she was desperate, she really found a neatly placed tender plan in the middle drawer of the desk.
