Gillian got out of the study excitedly, and was no longer gloomy but happy.
When she returned to the guest room, she immediately locked the door and couldn’t wait to call her father.
“Hey, Dad, I have good news to tell you.”
“What good news?”
Wilson didn’t care much. As long as she didn’t cause him any trouble, he was thankful to God.
As for any good news, he didn’t dare to hope.
“Didn’t you want to inquire about the detailed plans of Kevin’s company for this tender?”
“Yeah, how did you know?”
“I heard it from Bella.”
Upon hearing his eldest daughter’s name, Wilson immediately came to his senses, “Could it be that your sister has already asked Kevin, and he told her?”
Gillian snorted, “She’s not that kind. She’d love to see our family go bankrupt.”
“It isn’t a good news at all.”
Wilson was disappointed.
“Dad, don’t you think of me besides Bella? Don’t you ever think I can do what she can do, even what she can’t?”
Father was a bit baffled, “I’m a bit dizzy about what you said.”
“I tell you frankly. This bidding plan is based around the Grank Pavilion charity auction on the 13th of July. That is to say, the person auctions at the highest price of charity items in Grank Pavilion, will be able to obtain the construction rights of this project.”
Gillian finished in one breath, but the phone was silent for a long time. She thought her father didn’t hear, and uncertainly asked, “Dad, did you hear what I said?”
“I hear you, but where did you get that information?”
Wilson answered in amazement. How could such an important source of information be easily revealed to Gillian.
“Are you not trusting me?”
Gillian was a little upset, expecting to receive a compliment from his father.
“It’s not that I don’t believe it. This is a big deal, and I have to make sure if the source of the information is authentic, or else it will be a financial loss.”
“I saw it in Kevin’s study. It is the genuine tender proposal.”
……
Wilson asked some more questions, before hanging up the phone, and then carefully think that it was not impossible. This time the Jones-Sharp Group wanted to build a hope primary school, as a charitable project. Keeping it secret was also for fear of competing on the day of the auction and not being able to tell the winner then.
Kevin was smart enough to use such an unprecedented method to bid for the project. Philanthropic people had always attained the benefits.
If Gillian hadn’t accidentally tipped him off, this project would have been unrelated to him. He never did charity, and naturally he didn’t waste money on meaningless places.
After a night of deliberation, he finally decided to take a chance. Business was cruel. You couldn’t make an omelet without breaking eggs.
This project would be absolutely beyond profitable if he could get our hands on it. The most important thing was to have a commercial cooperation with the Jones-Sharp Group, and the future financial resources would be much.
On July 13, it was sunny. Early in the morning, Wilson came to the Grank Pavilion excitedly.
He originally thought he came quite early to the museum, only to find that a lot of people have come, in addition to a few are peers, the rest were some unknown dignitaries.
It seemed that there weren’t many competitors, he found a seat and sat down, looking confident.
The auction started on time at nine o’clock. It was just a very ordinary relic, but the people who ask for the bidding were one after another. Wilson was bound to win, so naturally he followed closely.
“One million.”
“One and a half million.”
“Two million.”
……
“Four million.”
“Four and a half million.”
By the time the six million was called, there was basically no one left to follow. But there was one person who didn’t give up. Wilson didn’t know him and was sure he wasn’t a peer, but that person was just as passionate about the charity sale as he was.
“Eight million.”
He looked askance at the middle-aged man sitting in the corner in amazement, What was the origin of him? Was such a broken relic worth this price? If it wasn’t for the engineering case of the Jones-Sharp Group, he wouldn’t even bother to take it.
“Eight million for the first time.”
“Eight million for the second time.”
He was so anxious that his palms began to sweat, and if he continued to follow, even if he got the right to construct this project, he might not be able to make so much profit. He struggled bitterly, and finally followed, “Ten million.”
That person did not follow again, so Wilson managed to win the trophy with ten million. When he happily took the relics to Kevin’s company, he learned the news like a bolt from the blue.
Kevin stared at the bronze-colored pottery he put on the desk and asked in surprise, “What is this for?”
“Isn’t it a condition of the winning bid?”
“The terms of the winning bid?” In the meantime, Kevin frowned, “What do you mean?”
Wilson was startled and said hurriedly, “Didn’t you say that as long as I won today’s charity auction in the Grank Pavilion, I could get the construction rights for your company’s tender? ”
“Who said that? There is no such thing.”
“How could it be!” Wilson was anxious, “Kevin, you can’t go out of your way. Although ten million isn’t much for you, for a small merchant like us, it’s a lot of money!”
Kevin’s face fell, “What did you say? How did I eat my words? You have to show me the evidence.”
Wilson saw that he did not acknowledge, but also wanted evidence. He was anxious, and hurriedly called Gillian, so she immediately rushed over.
As soon as Gillian received the call, she had a bad feeling in her heart. Although her father didn’t go into detail on the phone, but it wouldn’t be a good thing.
Sure enough, as soon as she appeared in the president’s office, her father said with a livid face, “Gillian, Kevin now doesn’t admit that I can successfully win the bid if I get the relics of Grank Pavilion. You honestly say, did you see the bidding plan with your own eyes?”
“Yes, I saw it with my own eyes. Kevin, how could you…”
“Where did you see that? Can you show me?”
“It’s in the middle drawer of your study, and if you haven’t taken it, we’ll go home together now and see it.”
In order to show them clearly, Kevin patiently went home with them, and when they went upstairs, they went into the study together. When they pulled open the drawer, there was nothing, and the evidence was missing.
“It is strange. I clearly saw it here two days ago!” Gillian said, “Kevin, you took it, didn’t you?”
“How many times do I have to tell you, I didn’t put any bidding proposal here, and the details of how this project is going to be bid is still under discussion. If you don’t believe me, you can go and confirm it with the executives of my company.”
“Then why didn’t you reveal it when I questioned you before?”
Wilson was lost. The fact was already in front of him, yet he was still making a dying struggle.
“How am I supposed to answer you if the bid is uncertain?”
The atmosphere in the room was indescribably heavy. After being dumbfounded for a while, Gillian suddenly realized something and roared angrily, “It’s her, it must be her!”
She grabbed her father’s arm, “Dad, Bella must have set us up. I’m going to confront her now. I won’t spare her!”
“Stop.”
Kevin shouted harshly, “Are you done making a scene? What kind of place do you think this is? I haven’t even investigated why you came into my study and went through my things, but instead you’re bothering my wife. Why do you insult her? Your sister is just a behaved schoolteacher who knows nothing about business. What is she capable of setting a trap for you?”
After the reprimand, he turned to Wilson and said, “Wilson, it’s disappointing to think that this is how you usually discipline your daughter.”
“Dad, I really did see that document, believe me, I really saw it…”
Slap-.
Wilson couldn’t bear and slapped her. It was the first time to hit his daughter. He won’t hit her if it wasn’t so embarrassing, and the pain of losing the ten million dollars.
Gillian was shocked and covered the right cheek. She was humiliated and burst out tears. Then she ran out of the study, quickly packed luggage, with a full of anger and grievances, weeping back home.
When she arrived at her own home, she met Colin, who doted on her the most, and cried hard, shouting that she lost face again…
After receiving a call from Wilson, Bella went straight to her house.
Before she even entered the door, she heard Gillian howling, and she took a deep breath and stepped inside calmly.
The enemies were extraordinarily jealous of each other.
Colin out of control rushed to her, pushed her hard, furiously roared, “Shameless bitch, even dared to appear in front of me, after harming my daughter?”
Bella steadied her pace and innocently retorted, “What have I done to her?”
Wilson stood up with a gloomy face and recounted the story, and at the end, said with a meaningful voice, “Bella, tell me honestly, did you do it?”
“Would you believe me if I said no?”
She smiled self-deprecatingly, “I don’t think you’ll believe me, do you? You always believe your guess.”
“Tell me the truth. If you hadn’t done it, naturally you wouldn’t have been wronged.”
“Well, then, I’ll tell you frankly. I didn’t do it.”
“You lie!”
Gillian growled hysterically, “You’re the one who deliberately set the trap, and I was the one who was too stupid to jump into it!”
“What proof do you have that I set the trap?”
“I would never have gone there if you hadn’t implied that there were important documents in his study, and don’t you dare say you didn’t have bad intentions?!”
“You act too casually. I’ve warned you not to go into other people’s rooms and touch their things, but you didn’t listen. Now you’re blaming me for what happened.” She paused and looked around the room, “I’m just a person who has never been taken seriously by you, so what can I do to fool you? You say that I set up a trap for you. Gillian, you’re really flattering me.”
