“Mom, I can’t take this bracelet.”
Bella graciously declined, not because she was afraid of Kevin’s stern gaze, but because she really thought it was too valuable.
Even she was a devil indeed, she would still have the conscience once in a while.
“Why don’t you want it?”
Blanche look gloomy, thinking that her son was so mean just now that broken Bella’s heart.
“I’ve just married, and is still green. So it’s better for mom to keep it. It’s not too late to give it to me later when I feel I’m qualified to receive it.”
Kevin’s taut face finally eased up a bit, and he was quite satisfied with her sensible answer.
“Whether you are green or not, since I’ve recognized you, you’ll be my daughter-in-law for the rest of your life, even if later…”
She glanced at her son and said unwillingly, “If you can’t stand such a marriage and want to leave, I won’t blame you. Whether you take this bracelet with you or leave it behind, it’s all up to you.”
After Blanche said that, she stubbornly put the bracelet hard on Bella’s wrist. Bella was a little at a loss at first, but after seeing the firmness in Blanche’s, she actually didn’t have the heart to refuse.
She knew Blanche’s good intentions that she wanted to use the bracelet to keep Bella here for the rest of her life.
Bella wore the jade bracelet that symbolized the superior’s daughter-in-law and went upstairs. She sat in her room, frightened and waiting for someone to blame her.
As expected, it took less than three minutes to get back to the room, and the door was knocked with a shocking sound, “Bella, you come out!”
She was extremely afraid when she heard Kevin call her name the first time. Bella only felt so scared and got goosebumps.
She opened the door timidly and deliberately asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Return it.”
“What?” She continued to ask deliberately.
Kevin didn’t talk nonsense with her and rudely squeezed her wrist, “Do you want to take it off yourself, or do you want me to do it?”
“It’s from my mother-in-law.”
“So I’m going to take it off.”
He was about to reach out and forcefully take off the bracelet when Bella warned, “If you keep doing this, I’ll tell the whole family that you lost the bet.”
Kevin’s dark eyes reflected a dangerous signal, “Do you dare to threaten me?”
“I was forced to do that.”
He suddenly turned around and pressed her against the wall and said, “Maybe I made an unwise choice from the start.”
“It should have been from the beginning that you picked a good match.”
She even dared to correct him. What a daring woman! Kevin suddenly did not get angry but smiled, looking actually creepy and cold.
“Fine, if you don’t take it, then you just keep it. But this weekend, don’t regret it.”
“Do you want to break the contract?”
“I won’t break my promise. I’ll accompany you back to your mother’s house as agreed, but how I should behave shouldn’t be part of our agreement anymore, right?”
He really was cunning, easily catching her weakness.
Bella pondered for a few seconds and compromised, “Is it true that if I give you back the bracelet, you’ll behave yourself?”
“I may consider.”
