They were breathing heavily.
Summer felt hot after she was stripped although the heater was at its lowest setting.
Leonardo moved his kisses from her lips down to her neck and beyond, leaving behind a trail of hickeys.
She shivered and curled her body under him. He slowly helped her to feel at ease. Looking at her, he gave her a warm peck on the lips. “Relax.”
Summer could not help it. She hissed softly but was stopped when Leonardo planted his lips on hers again.
He looked at her as his thing slipped inside her. “Summer.”
“Mmm…” One of her hands was locked and pressed underneath her. Meanwhile, a delicious sensation was surging within her, and she could not find an outlet for release.
As her only free hand was clutching the fabric of the sofa tightly, he placed his big hand over hers and closed in, easily cupping her hand in his. “Will you marry me?” he asked in an incredibly soft voice.
“Mmm…” She had lost half of her mind now, so her response was entirely involuntary.
The next moment, kisses fell on her face and body like rain on the earth. His heavy breathing started to ring in her ear, and it lasted forever.
…
The soft morning sunlight sneaked through the gap between the curtains and into the bedroom.
The two of them were still asleep in bed.
Right then, the mobile phone on the bedside table suddenly vibrated. It was followed by an unnerving ringtone, which broke the serenity of the morning.
Summer was under the duvet but could still hear the ringing. Without pulling the duvet away, she for the mobile phone with her white, slender hand.
Unlike on normal days, this time, she did not find her mobile phone. It stopped ringing after a short while.
Summer squinted and whisked the duvet away. Before she could get up, a husky voice rang out to her. “It’s still early. Let’s sleep in a bit.”
He even pulled the duvet over her again.
Summer frowned. Following his voice, she saw his handsome face.
When he saw her squinting at him and looking groggy, his expression became even gentler.
“Go back to sleep.” He kissed her on the forehead and drew her into his arms.
She was extremely tired from last night. Hearing such a pleasant and gentle voice, she closed her eyes and fell back to sleep.
When she woke up again, she heard Leonardo talking on the phone in a suppressed manner.
Propping herself up on the bed, she noticed that he only had a towel wrapped around his waist. He was walking out while talking softly on the phone.
As such, Summer did not hear the content of his conversation.
All she could hear were words like “Dumbass… you screwed things up… you… he is not…”
She only heard a disjointed sentence and could not make head or tail of what he was talking about.
Leonardo was out of the doorway. He could have closed the door behind him, and he would not have seen whether Summer was awake or not.
Yet, when his hand was on the doorknob, he glanced back inside like he was checking to see if Summer was still asleep.
Just like that, their eyes met.
He did not close the door but hung up and returned to the bedside. “Why don’t you sleep a little longer?”
Realizing that she was wearing nothing, she hid under the duvet. Then, last night’s scene came to mind.
She and Leonardo were obviously quarreling about Stanley the night before. How did they end up sleeping together?
“Go back to sleep.” He patted her on the head and covered her with the duvet.
She pulled it over her head so that she would not see him. After Leonardo left, she sat up in bed and turned to take her mobile phone from the bedside table.
There were several missed calls; some were from Jessica, and some were from Tim. Whenever Tim called, he usually looked for Leonardo.
As she thought of that, she blushed involuntarily.
Tim only called her, probably because he could not find Leonardo at his place and Leonardo had not picked up his calls.
Tim must have guessed that Leonardo was staying over at her place.
Summer frowned and took a deep breath before she got out of bed and searched for her clothes.
Leonardo came in right after she put them on.
He hesitated for a second when he saw that Summer was fully dressed and sitting on the bed, looking at her phone. After that, he went up to her. “Aren’t you sleeping anymore?”
He sat down on the bed and wanted to snatch the mobile phone from her.
She tilted her body sideways and evaded his hand. Then, she held her mobile phone to his face, showing him the content on the screen.
There was no change in his expression, which meant that he had already read it. The content did not concern anyone other than him and Amber.
Some reporters had sneaked into the function hall last night and taken secret photographs of him and Amber standing, as well as sitting, together.
There were no intimate gestures between them, but the reporters had captured the pictures at such an angle that Leonardo and Amber appeared like a happy couple.
One of the most loving moments in the photographs showed Leonardo taking Rosie from Amber’s hands.
Luckily, Leonardo was careful enough not to expose Rosie’s face when he took her from Amber’s hands.
Even those professional reporters had failed to get a photo of Rosie’s face. That was how mindful Leonardo was.
Despite that, the reporters still made up a story using those photographs and uploaded it on the Internet. The story had been reposted on major news sites, and it was now all over the Internet.
Leonardo took her mobile phone and put it aside. Then, he looked at Summer with a serious face. “Don’t be bothered by this useless story, Summer. It’s all made up. I’ll send someone to deal with the aftermath. All you need to do is get ready to be my bride.”
“What bride?” She understood everything he said except one particular point. She did not remember ever agreeing to marry him.
“Have you forgotten? You agreed last night.” Leonardo narrowed his eyes, sounding intimidating.
“When did I agree to it?”
If she had really agreed to marry him, how could she not remember it at all?
Leonardo was definitely trying to con her again.
