Chapter 515 I Feel Like Everyone Is Trying to Snatch You Away from Me

An answer flashed in her mind, but the words were stuck in her throat. She could not utter them all of a sudden.
It was not the best time for marriage.
There were too many unresolved issues. That hypnotist who hypnotized Leonardo was still at large, and Leonardo had only learned of the past but felt no personal connection to it.
He might have feelings for her, but those feelings were nothing when compared with the past.
“Have you found the hypnotist?” She changed the subject abruptly. “That person approached Kate. I’m sure he didn’t hypnotize you for an innocent reason. There must be some ill motive.”
If she could change the conversation, then likewise, Leonardo could just ignore what she said.
He reached out to hold up her chin, forcing her to look him in the eye. “Answer my question.”
“Let’s talk about that later.” She whisked his hand away and took a step back.
He looked in disbelief as she shook off his hand. “Why should it be it later?” he asked after a while of silence.
“Too many things are still unresolved now. We should keep our relationship for later.”
Yet, Leonardo would not listen. He held her hands and looked into her eyes. “Is there anything else more important than us being together?” His voice was extremely low.
“There is.” She looked up at him. “Your memories. It’s important that you get your memories back and become whole again.”
Leonardo might have seemed normal right then, not much different from the last time. However, he needed to recover his memories.
Leonardo became so angry that he laughed. “Are you saying that I’m not a human now, Summer?”
Every reason that Summer gave was just an excuse in his eyes. They were just her excuses to not marry him.
“Can’t you calm down and listen to me, Leonardo?”
He narrowed his eyes. “If I weren’t calm and rational, do you think you’d still be standing here?” he said softly.
He was obviously angry—very, very angry.
Summer could see it in between his brows. He rarely displayed such an expression in front of her, and she could not help but feel a chill run up her spine.
He took a step forward and looked down at her. “Since you want to find the hypnotist so much, fine. Let me give you a clue. When we visited Stanley the other day, he hypnotized you.”
Summer suddenly realized what he was talking about. “That time after we came back from the mountains?”
Back then, Leonardo purportedly wanted Stanley to treat him. However, Stanley had failed to hypnotize him because his willpower was too strong.
Summer, on the other hand, felt her mind drift off at that time. Had Leonardo not gripped her hand…
Her heart skipped a beat. “He hypnotized me last time?”
“Dumb woman!” He pinched her cheek gingerly.
Summer was not in the mood to argue with him even though he was calling her names.
Her mind was racing, and she quickly figured out what Leonardo meant. “Are you saying that you suspect Stanley of hypnotizing you in the past?”
Leonardo pinched her cheek again as if he had just found his favorite toy. She slapped his hand away, and his face darkened. She had no choice but to let him be.
“How is it possible?” Summer still could not believe that Stanley was the hypnotist.
“If Stanley’s that hypnotist, why did he want to help Kate? He doesn’t lack money.”
She thought for a while. “Let’s look at it this way: even if Stanley was after money, he could have just worked for you instead of Kate. He would have been better off. You’re the president of Emerson Group and the most powerful person.”
She analyzed the case for some time. “So, I think your theory doesn’t stand.”
“He doesn’t lack money, but there’s something else more important than money.” There was a deep underlying meaning in his words, and his eyes were fixed on her.
“Why are you staring at me?” Summer could not believe it. “Are you telling me that Stanley hypnotized you three years ago because he took a liking to me?”
“I can’t rule that out,” he sneered.
“Am I a fairy in your eyes, that everyone who sees me automatically likes me?” She and Stanley had been together for a long time. There was never a moment that she felt Stanley’s feelings for her were beyond that of a friend. Hence, that assumption was invalid.
“Don’t flatter yourself. Look how dumb you are. Do you look like a fairy?” Leonardo studied her from head to toe with a disdainful look in his eyes.
Just as Summer was about to retort, he suddenly continued, “What if someone has the same sense of aesthetic as me and loves a dumb woman like you?”
He placed particular emphasis toward the end of the sentence.
Summer was so angry at him that she wanted to bite him, but Leonardo saw it coming and bounced back. “You may not be as pretty as a fairy, but I just feel like everyone is trying to snatch you away from me.”
As arrogant as Leonardo was, he was extremely self-restrained when it came to relationships.
He rarely displayed affection and mainly used action to prove himself to her. Sweet talking was an even rarer affair.
Summer did not know how to react for a moment. Her lucid eyes were wide open as she stared at him unblinkingly.
Leonardo suddenly came up to her, cupped her face in his hands, and kissed her.
Unlike his kisses earlier, they were gentle and affectionate this time around.
Summer was no longer that young to judge a person by his sweet words, but when those sweet nothings came out of Leonardo’s mouth, they still struck a chord. They were not very descriptive, but they still sounded sweet to her ears.
While she was deep in thought, she felt a hand slip under her clothes. She was wearing a loose sleeping gown, so it was easy for him to reach under.
“Emerson—”
She tried to stop him, but Leonardo’s low voice rang by her ear teasingly. “Just let me touch you.”
Summer became a little slow in her reaction, which made it look like she was silently craving for his touch.
They dropped onto the sofa as they kissed, and Leonardo started to undress her while he continued to work his lips.
Wearing only a sleeping gown, she retreated until her back was pressed against the sofa. In the end, she failed to keep the one and only garment on her.
