Summer did not feel frustrated even though she failed to find out anything from Leonardo.
She believed that it would not be difficult for Leonardo to find the hypnotist.
…
Leonardo was back in his home. He handed his coat to the maid and sat down on the couch.
He looked up at the crystal chandelier above him, then scanned his surroundings.
The vast mansion felt empty with only several bodyguards and maids there.
He took out his mobile phone and instinctively swiped to the short message window. There was only one text message, “Good night”, which Summer sent the night before.
When he received the message, he thought the woman must have had nothing better to do. He wanted to block her, but somehow, he did not. He had probably fallen asleep before he could do it.
“Young Master.”
Tim’s voice brought Leonardo back to the real world.
Leonardo turned off the screen of his mobile phone before he looked up at Tim.
He said nothing and just raised his eyebrows, signaling Tim to say whatever he wanted to say.
“What do you want for dinner?” Tim was cautious.
Due to Leonardo’s special circumstances, Tim was now staying in Leonardo’s house.
Luckily, Leonardo still trusted him.
He was more than a special assistant; he even took care of Leonardo’s private matters.
As a result of what happened last night, the maids in the kitchen had become too cautious about cooking again. They were afraid that if the dishes did not meet Leonardo’s expectations, he would lose his temper again. Hence, they got Tim to ask him.
“Isn’t it their job to cook? Why do they have to ask me about such a petty matter?” Leonardo sounded indifferent.
It may have been a small matter for Leonardo, but for the maids, it was a major decision, so Tim plucked up his courage. “Young Master, do you want Mrs. Emerson to cook for you?”
For the first time, Leonardo did not correct Tim’s choice of words. “You mean Summer?”
Tim had noticed that little detail. “Yeah.”
Leonardo sneered, “She came to cook for me voluntarily last night, but tonight, she’s still nowhere to be seen at this hour. If she wants to restore our marriage, she can dream on.”
Tim wiped the sweat from his forehead.
When he first worked as Leonardo’s special assistant, he was still a fresh graduate. At that time, Tip Top Entertainment was not as famous, but the company had already begun to make a profit.
Leonardo was a born businessman with outstanding business acumen.
Tip Top Entertainment experienced tremendous growth under his leadership, but at twenty-something, Leonardo was hot-headed.
Tim was still a reckless youth when he first graduated. Unlike now, he was circumspect, and he received a lot of flak from Leonardo.
Back then, he had a problem accepting the fact that his superior was younger than him. It was only after he witnessed how capable Leonardo was that he submitted himself to him.
Tim had gotten used to Leonardo’s steady and careful yet domineering nature. But now, Leonardo’s character had time-traveled back to when he was in his twenties.
Plus, even after so many years, Tim still found it hard to get along with Leonardo.
Should he tell Leonardo that he was the one who asked Summer to come over to save his day?
Should he tell Leonardo that he used to think the sun rose and set on Summer?
In fact, Tim had hinted Leonardo about those facts before, but it did not work.
Leonardo would not listen.
Seeing that Tim was not responding, Leonardo looked at him with an expressionless face. “Why aren’t you saying anything? Am I not right?”
“You’re right, Young Master.” Tim snapped out of his thoughts, his reply matter of fact.
Leonardo was obviously pleased with Tim having the same thought as him. “In that case, why hasn’t she come over to cook for me?”
Did he really think Mrs. Emerson was his cook?
Tim did not reveal his thoughts on his face. “Mrs. Emerson has to look after Rosie, so she might not be able to come over and cook for you.”
Leonardo was silent for a moment. “My daughter?”
“Yeah, you were the one who raised Rosie. She is very adorable.” There was a hint of joy in Tim’s voice when he talked about Rosie.
Leonardo recalled the little chubby girl that he saw in the living room yesterday afternoon. She looked so small that it was as if he could pinch her with his fingers.
He was not sure if she was adorable, but she looked incredibly tiny.
“Since I was the one who raised her, what gives Summer the right to take all of the credit?”
After that, Leonardo got to his feet.
Tim had no idea what was on Leonardo’s mind at that moment. “Young Master…”
“Do you know where Summer lives?”
“Sure.” Tim nodded, but he still did not know what Leonardo was trying to do.
“Let’s go.” Leonardo went ahead.
“Young Master, where are you going?” He followed after Leonardo.
Leonardo did not look at him, and his face remained indifferent. “I’m going to take back the little chubby girl, whom I have single-handedly raised.”
Tim thought he had committed an innocent bad deed.
…
“Rosie, take your bowl. It’s dinnertime now.”
Summer called Rosie in to take her bowl as she finished cooking the last dish.
“Coming!” Rosie scurried into the kitchen as she responded with her baby voice.
Summer handed her a bowl and a pair of chopsticks. “Take these to the dining table.”
“Okay.”
Rosie scurried back out with the objects clinking in her hands. She then placed them on the dining table.
As Summer opened the lid of the pot to check if the soup was ready, Rosie called out, “Mommy, somebody’s knocking on the door.”
“Where’s Aunt Jessica?”
“She is in the toilet.”
Summer stirred the soup slightly. “I’ll answer the door.”
“I’ll go,” Rosie offered herself. Without waiting for Summer to reply, she scampered over to open the door.
Summer quickly put down the ladle and headed out. “Rosie, let me open the door.”
By the time she was out of the kitchen, Rosie had opened the door.
“Emerson…”
Rosie looked up and saw a tall man standing outside, her eyes brightening up. “Kate!”
Emerson Summer wanted to stop her, but it was too late.
Rosie had lunged up to hug Leonardo’s legs.
With her height, Rosie could only reach his thighs.
Leonardo glanced at Tim, who was behind him, as though asking, “Is this what you call ‘adorable’?” He then looked down at Rosie and cocked an eyebrow. “How should you greet me?”
Rosie chortled and was ready to please. “Daddy!”
Leonardo froze. This slick, little girl was his daughter?
He looked back up at Summer, suspecting that it had to be her who taught Rosie such things.
Meanwhile, Summer had seemingly read Leonardo’s mind. She lifted Rosie up and shoved her into Leonardo’s arms. “Rosie hasn’t seen you for two days. She misses you a lot.”
