Chapter 430 A Cold-blooded Monster

Kate suddenly lost temper and appeared hideous. “Get out now! Out!”
As far as Summer could remember, Kate was an exquisite woman who always kept her composure.
Yet, she was now no longer domineering like she used to be. Instead, she was on the verge of an emotional breakdown.
Summer frowned. “Kate, what’s happened to you?”
Kate looked at Summer, gradually coming to her senses.
“You’ve come here to see me because of Leonardo?”
Summer sensed something odd about Kate, but she did not have time to worry about her. “Who did you hire to hypnotize Leonardo? Where is that person? What does he look like?”
“I don’t know.” By now, Kate had calmed down, but her face was still pale. “Let me warn you, you’re going to regret it big time if you insist on being together with Leonardo. He isn’t the right man if you’re looking for happiness.”
It was strange to hear Kate say that. It sounded more like Kate was trying to draw a wedge between her and Leonardo.
There was gloominess in Summer’s eyes. “His happiness seems to be of no concern to you. Instead, you’ve done so much damage to him all for the sake of your own interest. You’ve never cared about him. How dare you pass remarks about him!”
Kate looked Summer up and down, realizing that Summer resembled Leonardo in some way.
Leonardo had nearly strangled her to her death last time, and that made Kate loathe Summer even more.
“If I’m not wrong, you’re here to beg me. Is this how you beg?” Kate hissed.
“You’re wrong. I’m not here to beg you.” Summer did not back down. “You’re the one who’s responsible for Leonardo’s current condition. If you want him to keep guarding the Emerson Family’s wealth, you better pray that he’s hale and hearty all the time. Otherwise, your position as the young lady in the family will be jeopardized.”
“Summer, who do you think you are? How dare you talk to me like that? Don’t you know that playing a smart aleck won’t do you any good?”
A happy thought seemed to occur to Kate, and the smile on her face grew even more apparent.
“Leonardo hasn’t recovered his memory, has he? If he’s remembered nothing about the past, naturally, he won’t remember his relationship with you. You’re just desperate to restore your marriage to him so that you can become the lady of the Emerson Family again.”
With Summer’s silence, Kate started to think that her conjecture was right.
She could not help but put on a winning smile. “But bury your thoughts of becoming the lady of the Emerson Family again. The guy who hypnotized Leonardo is the top hypnotist in the world. He is as good as he sounds!”
Kate suddenly burst into laughter with a frenzied expression. “He isn’t going to remember his past and his love for you. He is just a vicious monster!”
Summer involuntarily clenched her fists, her expression hardening as she bit her lip. “No, it is you, who’s indifferent to your mom’s death, who’s too afraid to speak up because of your love for wealth and position even though you know who killed your mom…” She paused, then forced the remaining words through her teeth, “… that is the monster! A cold-blooded monster!”
“Shut up!” Kate was stunned. “What do you know?”
“I know about all the things you’ve been afraid to let me find out.” Summer raised her chin slightly, her voice soft. She glanced at Kate and was pleased to see the sudden change in Kate’s expression before she walked away.
When she learned about the case surrounding Leonardo’s mother, she had suspected that Kate knew something about it.
Kate was not a typical brainless young lady from some wealthy family; she was a smart individual with a mind of her own.
Girls were generally more mature than boys of the same age. They would usually start to grow some common sense as young as eleven years old.
Even if Kate did not witness what happened back then, she should have observed something.
She had been staying abroad from a young age, hence her relationship with Leonardo was distant. The entire time, Kate refused to believe Leonardo about there being actual killers who murdered their mom. Based on that, it seemed like she willfully disregarded the case.
Leonardo appeared cold, but deep inside, he was very thoughtful toward people whom he cared about.
In contrast, Kate cared about no one but herself.
So in a sense, Kate was just like Michael.
However, those were just Summer’s speculations.
Judging by Kate’s reaction, Summer knew that she had gotten something right.
Perhaps, Kate may have heard or even seen something when her mother was abducted, but she chose to keep mum.
Someone could have threatened her, and once she realized that she would lose her privilege as the young lady of a wealthy family if she told the truth, she opted to remain silent.
Such silence made her even more selfish as she grew up.
In the end, she even wanted to control Leonardo and force him to guard the family wealth so that she could remain as the young lady of the family.
“Summer, stand where you are, and let’s talk it over!”
Kate’s shrill voice was heard coming from behind, but Summer could not have cared less. She left.
Kate had always looked down on Summer, thinking that Summer was just like any other woman who approached Leonardo because of the Emerson Family’s wealth. Naturally, she did not think Leonardo would tell Summer such a private matter.
Yet, it seemed that according to what Summer had said, she knew everything about the Emerson Family.
Violet lost her mind, Adams died in the explosion, and Michael—the only one who survived—was paralyzed.
Those who were involved in the abduction back then and the darkest secrets of the Emerson Family should be buried deep underground.
Had Leonardo gone mad?
He had told Summer everything about the Emerson Family!
Kate’s face was pale, and her hands were clenched into fists as she stared gravely in the direction Summer had left.

On the way home, Summer took out her mobile phone and searched the Internet for the world’s top hypnotists.
She was not expecting to find anything useful, just wanting to know more. That was it.
The information she found revealed that most famous hypnotists were in foreign countries.
Hypnosis in her own country was still underdeveloped, so the only place to look for top hypnotists was in other countries.
Tim and the others would know better.
Kate had been living abroad since she was little, so it would not be difficult for her to find a hypnosis expert.
Meanwhile, Leonardo had money and power; it would also be easy for him to find the hypnotist who helped Kate.
