Summer patted Rosie’s head and gently comforted her. “It’s all right, it’s all right.”
Their movements in the corner had attracted Leonardo’s attention.
Just as Leonardo looked over, Tim walked to him.
He then asked with a concerned look, “Young Master, are you all right?”
Leonardo looked at Tim with a half-smile. “Do I look like I’m all right?”
Tim was at a loss for words with that retort.
However, he quickly realized that Leonardo did not know Summer, but he did not show any signs of not knowing him.
“Young Master, do you know who I am?” Tim decided to confirm it with Leonardo.
Leonardo looked at Tim as if he was looking at a fool. “Tim, has your wedding addled your mind that much? I didn’t lose my memory, so how would I not know you?”
Was he not having amnesia?
The situation was clearly much more serious than his previous memory loss.
Wait, did the young master say that he just got married?
His marriage was years ago.
At that time, he had just graduated and had managed to save up enough for the down payment of his house, so he straight away proposed to his wife.
That was many years ago, so why did Leonardo suddenly bring that up?
Tim kicked the shattered fragments of a cup aside and said to Leonardo, “Young Master, my marriage was eight or nine years ago.”
Leonardo did not speak but stared at him with an unseemly expression.
Tim had vaguely realized that Leonardo was probably having a memory flux.
His marriage was a matter of eight or nine years ago, but Leonardo suddenly mentioned it.
Had Leonardo’s current memories stopped at the moment when he just got married?
Tim was shocked by his bold speculation.
He then asked probingly, “Do you still remember Rosie?”
“What Rosie?” Leonardo looked up at him without any emotion in his eyes.
If not for the person before him being Leonardo, Tim would have thought he was acting dumb.
Summer had wanted to carry Rosie out, but as she heard the conversation between Leonardo and Tim, she stopped.
The more she heard their conversation, the more mind-blowing it got.
Rosie also heard Leonardo’s words, and she whispered to Summer, “Daddy is calling me.”
Her eyes were opened wide, and they were pure and innocent as she stared at Summer and sought the latter’s approval.
Summer sighed and carried Rosie as she walked toward Leonardo.
The moment Leonardo saw Summer, he said with a pissed off look, “Why are you here again?”
Summer remained silent.
Tim immediately said, “Young Master, this is Rosie. She is your daughter.”
Leonardo’s gaze fell onto Rosie before returning to Tim. “You’re telling me that this is my wife and daughter?”
Tim nodded.
Leonardo laughed in fury. “All of you get out! Get out now!”
His voice was loud due to his anger. Rosie was still young, and she was so frightened that she winced.
She stared at Leonardo with reddened eyes as she called out to him in an aggrieved voice, “Daddy…”
Leonardo did not even look at her. “Didn’t you hear? Get out!”
Rosie burst into tears once more, and her tears rolled down like broken beads. “Kate, bad!”
As she said that, she lay on Summer’s shoulder and sobbed.
While she cried, she said, “I don’t want him! Bad! Woo… Woo…”
Summer’s throat felt a little tight, and Rosie’s crying made her extremely distressed.
Leonardo’s current situation meant that he would not listen to anyone, so she had no need to stay there.
She carried Rosie out and comforted her for a while.
“Don’t cry. Have you forgotten? Daddy is sick. He didn’t mean it.”
Rosie snorted as she sniffed hard. “Belly hurt.”
When she talked, she subconsciously reached out to touch her stomach, and her tiny movements were extremely adorable.
“Yes, Daddy’s stomach hurts so much. That’s why he lost his temper. Don’t blame him.” Summer stroked her hair as she patiently explained to Rosie.
“Humph!”
Rosie sneered as she crossed her arms. “It’s his fault.”
Summer knew that Rosie was just saying things. Her daughter was also a little lady with character.
By the time Rosie calmed down, Tim had walked out as well.
Summer handed Rosie to the maid and asked, “How is he?”
Tim looked around and walked to a spot where no one was.
Summer immediately followed after him.
“I have a feeling that the young master is having a memory flux, and his memories had returned to seven, eight years ago, when I had just married. He didn’t know you then, and Rosie wasn’t born yet, so even if we told him this was seven, eight years into the future now, he probably would not be able to digest it for a while.”
Tim paused after saying that, to see Summer’s reaction.
Summer felt a little incredulous.
Yet, which of the recent events were not incredulous?
She could understand it if she followed this train of thought.
She nodded. “I will take Rosie with me and live somewhere else for the time being.”
Tim nodded. “All right, I will help you and Rosie look for a good place to live.”
Tim was a very thoughtful person, and now that Leonardo was in this condition, he naturally had to make proper arrangements for Summer and Rosie.
“That isn’t necessary,” Summer declined his suggestion as she said, “I might need to trouble you with things like ID and whatnot, but I can live with Jessica for the next few days.”
She did not want to rely on Leonardo for everything.
While Tim was doing the favor, in the end, it was still Leonardo’s money and influence.
Jessica told her that she used to be a screenwriter and had to have some savings, but her documents were still incomplete.
Tim did not force the matter with Summer and simply nodded.
Summer contacted Jessica, and Tim sent his men to bring Summer and Rosie to Jessica’s place.
When they got there, the person waiting by the roadside was not Jessica, but Carl.
Summer was a little surprised before she composed herself and called out, “Carl.”
As she said that, she turned to Rosie. “Rosie, your greetings.”
Rosie’s memory was good, and even though she had only met him once, she still remembered Carl.
She obediently greeted him, “Uncle Jones.”
Carl seemed to pop out a bear lollipop out of nowhere like magic and handed it to Rosie.
“Do you like it?”
“Yes.” Rosie loved sweets and took it happily as she sweetly said, “Thank you, Uncle Jones.”
Compared with Leonardo, Carl who was not married and childless was even more adept at coaxing a child.
Summer could not help but ask out of curiosity, “How did you and Leonardo come to know each other?”
Carl put it concisely. “We fought.”
“You and Leonardo?”
“No, he watched me get beat up.”
That was definitely something Leonardo would do.
