Chapter 419 Who Gave You the Courage?

Book:CEO's Substitute Wife Published:2024-5-1

The bodyguard was frightened by Leonardo’s expression and said, “I’m helping you down the car and into the hospital.”
As he said that, he moved aside a little, to let Leonardo see the hospital door.
“Why are we at the hospital? Who asked you to send me to the hospital? Hmm?” The last “Hmm” was so menacing like it was King Yama’s writ of death.
The bodyguard was silent and dared not speak nor step back, so he could only look at Summer for help.
Following the bodyguard’s line of sight, Leonardo realized that Summer was also in the car.
“You are taking me to the hospital?” Leonardo squinted at her and grabbed her chin with one hand, his voice cold. “Why are you taking me to the hospital? Who gave you the courage?”
His interrogative tone stunned Summer for a moment.
This Leonardo was very strange.
“You looked sick, and was in pain, so I got them to send you to the hospital.” Summer said as she carefully took a measure of him.
The color of his eyes was deep, the kind of black that was as dark as ink. It looked sinister even when he was with his impassive expression, much less when he was actually angry.
Summer had no idea where his anger stemmed from.
Whenever they lived under the same roof, she had never seen Leonardo behave that way.
Summer frowned as he heard what she said, and pressed her chin even harder.
Summer hissed in pain and said, “Leonardo, can you let me go first.”
“You know me?” Not only did Leonardo refuse to let go, his gaze sharpened with a hint of inquisitiveness to it. “Who are you?”
“I…” Summer was about to reflexively say her name, and only then did she notice the anomaly with Leonardo.
She asked back in disbelief, “You don’t know me?”
While the two of them had both lost their memories three years ago, but they had been living together for a while now, so why would he suddenly not know her?
Summer pushed Leonardo’s hand away from her chin and got closer to him as she pointed to herself with a serious look on her face. “Have a good look, you really don’t know me?”
Leonardo curled his lips and said in a mocking tone, “Heh, just because you are slightly better looking than most women, I should know about you?
Summer was speechless.
Could someone tell her what the hell was going on?
Was there… something wrong with Leonardo’s brain?
Summer’s expression changed slightly. He was fine when he left home earlier in the morning…
During this time, aside from his slightly bad temper, there was nothing too different about him.
She pondered for a bit and discussed it with Leonardo. “I can’t really explain this to you now, and I don’t know what’s wrong with you. How about this, let’s just go into the hospital for a check-up, okay?”
Leonardo replied coldly, “The one that needs to get checked is you.”
“I…”
Leonardo looked at the bodyguard in the driver’s seat and said, “Go back.”
“Yes, Sir,” the bodyguard responded and started the car as they prepared to head back.
At that moment, Leonardo suddenly said, “Wait up.”
The bodyguard immediately stopped the car.
Leonardo turned around and looked at Summer who had been peeking at him from time to time, and spat out two words coldly. “Get out.”
“You’re asking me to get out?” Summer thought that she had misheard him.
Leonardo only gave her a cold glance. “Is there anyone else around?”
Summer was startled, and her reaction was naturally a little slower.
In those few seconds of stupor, Leonardo opened the door and pushed her out of the car.
Leonardo’s actions were extremely rough with disgust in his eyes as if she was some sort of garbage that was far beneath him.
Summer was pushed out of the car, and she fell onto the ground.
She sat on the ground in a stupor for a moment. It was not until she heard the sound of a car horn not too far away did she regain her senses and stand up to sit by the road.
While she was embarrassed by the incident, she did not feel any sadness.
Perhaps because she had yet to regain her memories, there were no emotional bonds.
Summer touched her pocket, and fortunately, she had brought along her mobile phone before she left.
Tim had called her earlier today, so she directly dialed his number.
“Ms. Jarrett.” There was a tinge of surprise in Tim’s tone.
“Tim, Leonardo… Something’s happened to him.”
Summer recounted what happened to Tim.
As he heard that, Tim said, “Ms. Jarrett, where are you now? I’ll pick you up first.”
Summer had no money with her, and with Tim offering to pick her up himself, she did not dither and straight away told him where she was.
Tim came very quickly, almost as if he had been speeding all the way here.
He stopped the car in front of Summer. “Ms. Jarrett, please get in.”
After Summer got into the car, she asked, “Has Leonardo had any afflictions before? Has anything similar to this happened in the past?”
“No.” Tim’s expression was grim. “We only learned today that the young master’s amnesia was caused by his sister taking him to a hypnotist and blocking off his memory. I think his current situation has to do with that.”
“Hypnosis?” While the word itself was not uncommon, it was however Summer’s first time hearing of the ability to block off someone’s memory.
Tim frowned. “If the young master’s current condition has something to do with the hypnosis, then we need to look for that hypnotist.”
Summer suddenly remembered Rosie, and her expression immediately changed. “He didn’t recognize me just now, would he also not recognize Rosie?”
Hearing that, Tim did not say anything and just slammed the accelerator even harder.
When Summer and Tim arrived at the villa, it was already in a mess.
All of the servants and bodyguards were standing in the courtyard.
Summer walked over and asked one of them, “Where’s Leonardo?”
The maid said with lingering fear, “The young master is inside. He chased all of us out.”
Summer looked around. When she did not see Rosie’s figure, she asked, “Where’s Rosie?”
The maid turned to the side and was shocked. “The little miss was here just now!”
Summer did not care anymore and ran toward the villa.
Rosie must have gone to look for Leonardo.
Just as she got to the entrance, she saw the mess inside.
Leonardo was sitting on the only intact sofa in the hall.
Summer had no intention of paying him any mind, and she looked around for Rosie.
“Mommy…”
A small voice rang out, and Summer followed it, before laying her sights on a large bonsai pot.
Rosie’s height was about the height of the pot, and she poked her little head out, with tears in her eyes.
Summer felt distressed, as she walked over and picked Rosie up.
Rosie, who had been holding back her tears, cried the moment Summer picked her up. “Mommmyyyy.”
