Chapter 413 The Heart of a Wicked Woman

Speaking of which, it was the first time Carl had entered Leonardo’s office.
He looked around curiously, as he went about inspecting and touching as he said, “The decor is quite similar to that of your office in the Golden Cauldron.”
“State your business.” Leonardo walked to the back of his desk and sat down as he spoke in a very faint tone.
Only then did Carl turn around and walk up to Leonardo’s desk. He then planted both of his hands on the table and stared at Leonardo in the eye. “Leonardo, have your memories returned?”
Leonardo’s expression did not change much.
The two looked at each other for a moment before Leonardo finally said aloud, “What do you think?”
“That day at the Golden Cauldron, you loathed that I gave Rosie a box of cash as a meeting gift. You’ve always loathed me, but you also oppressed me…”
Carl could not help but grumble as he spoke.
Leonardo repeated a word mentioned earlier. “Oppressed?”
Carl’s expression changed, as he swallowed hard and said. “No… not oppress but take care…”
Leonardo snorted coldly and did not express an opinion.
“You have really regained your memories.” Carl almost cried. “Bloody hell, I tried all sorts of methods for three years and you had no reaction, but you regain your memories not long after you live with Summer. Are you that carefree?”
Carl complained so bitterly yet Leonardo was completely indifferent. “What is your relationship with Ms. Hicks?”
“You don’t know about my relationship with Jessica?”
“Not for the time being,” Leonardo replied.
Carl was stunned for a moment before asking, “What the hell is going on with you?”
Leonardo explained succinctly, “There are flashes of images at times.”
“How could this be?” Previously at the Golden Cauldron, he felt that Leonardo had regained his memories, but he never thought things would turn out like this.
“I don’t know,” Leonardo said matter-of-factly.
“How about Summer? Both of you were involved in that incident together, did she regain some of her memories?”
“She was in a worse state than me, and even now she shows no signs of regaining her memories. The doctor said that the chances of her doing so are quite minuscule.” Leonardo’s voice became heavy as he uttered that last part.
Speaking about that incident, Carl’s expression turned grim.
“That time during the explosion on the island, Kate brought people to rescue you, but she only took you away. When I rushed over, I didn’t find Summer, and Kate didn’t let us see you either.”
Hearing that, Leonardo raised his eyes with an inexplicable expression on his face. “She didn’t rescue Summer?”
“She has always tried to pair you with Amber, why would she save Summer? She has the heart of a wicked woman, I say.” Seeing Leonardo’s expression, Carl did not continue to speak of the things he wanted to say.
During those three years, both he and Jessica thought Summer was gone.
Leonardo had lost his memories and totally believed Kate, so he had forgotten about Summer.
Carl could not help but feel a little awkward. “For those three years, we thought that things would end up like that forever, but Summer’s alive, and you’re slowly regaining your memories. Everything’s going in a good direction…”
Leonardo’s expression was impassive, and no one knew if he had listened to what Carl said.
Instead, he asked Carl another thing. “Kate took me to M Country for treatment, do you know which hospital it was?”
Carl pondered for a bit and said, “No idea. She took you to America at the very last minute. We were busy searching for Summer back then, and did not pay attention to that.”
Leonardo lowered his gaze as he heard that and sat unmovingly. No one had any idea what he was thinking.
Carl asked him with a puzzled tone. “What’s wrong?”
Leonardo reached out and turned open a document file. “There’s probably a lot to do in Tip Top.”
Carl rubbed his nose, Leonardo was chasing him away now.
Before leaving, Carl did not forget to quip. “Then I’ll head back to Tip Top first. Let’s go to the Golden Cauldron for a drink later.”
Leonardo only casually said, “Not going. I have a kid at home.”
Carl’s lips twitched, and he, who was childless, was clearly being one-upped.
He then thought a bit and said, “Then I’ll go over to your place to drink?”
Carl and Leonardo were about the same age, but their personalities were quite contrasting.
At that moment, he looked on at Leonardo with both anticipation and uneasiness.
“Yeah.” Leonardo seemingly remembered something and said, “You can invite Ms. Hicks to join us as well.”
Carl slapped his thigh happily. “Okay! I’ll bring my own poison!”

In the hall.
Summer sat on the sofa with Rosie, accompanying her as she watched cartoons.
She had told Rosie that she would watch cartoons with her yesterday, and naturally, she could not go back on her word.
She held a tablet, and on it was the search page for The Lost City.
A random search alone produced thousands upon thousands of results.
That was enough to prove how popular it was when The Lost City premiered.
Its popularity and fan engagement were high.
Summer was engrossed watching the cartoon with Rosie before she caught the glimpse of a maid coming in from outside.
The maid hurried to Summer, and before the former could speak, Summer asked, “What’s the matter?”
The maid said with a difficult expression, “Ms. Emerson is here.”
Ms. Emerson?
Summer only wondered for a moment before managing to guess that she was referring to Kate.
Just as she was about to speak, she saw someone coming in from outside.
Kate wore a neat white lady’s suit which was form-fitting and accentuated every curve on her body very well. That made the already somewhat arrogant lady look even more domineering.
She looked around, and her gaze soon landed on Summer.
A chilling glint flashed past her eyes as she walked straight toward Summer.
Summer stood up, and seeing the maid beside her turning to leave, she guessed that the maid was going to call Leonardo.
So, Summer stopped her. “There’s no need to inform Leonardo of this small matter.”
Summer could tell from that day in the Emerson Family’s residence that Kate hated her to the bone.
Kate paying her a visit was not surprising.
Kate and Leonardo were both working in Emerson Group, and if Kate wanted to look for Leonardo, she could just look for him in the office.
For Kate to show up there naturally meant that she was looking for her.
The maid was somewhat at a loss as she heard Summer’s words.
Seeing her state, Summer did not insist. “It’s up to you.”
The maid nodded slightly and turned to leave.
Kate walked over, her gaze sweeping past Summer before landing on Rosie. “Rosie.”
Summer walked over and pressed the pause button on the remote control as she warmly said, “Rosie, your aunt is calling you.”
Rosie looked up at Summer.
Summer then pointed to where Kate stood.
Rosie looked in the direction Summer was pointing at, and when she saw Kate, she smiled happily. “Auntie.”
“Let your aunt give you a hug.” Kate crouched on the ground as she reached out for Rosie.
