Chapter 414 I Pissed Her Off

Book:CEO's Substitute Wife Published:2024-5-1

Rosie jumped down the sofa and ran toward Kate.
Summer looked on by the side, with no particular emotion on her face.
She only measured Kate for a few moments before turning around to order the maid to serve tea.
Even if Kate was an uninvited, unwanted guest, she was still a guest.
While Summer did not know why Kate hated her, Rosie was still part of the Emerson household.
It was obvious that Kate genuinely cared for Rosie, and she would not treat Rosie badly despite her hate for Summer.
So, she would not stop Rosie from getting close to Kate.
Kate jumped down of the sofa and ran toward Kate.
Kate held Rosie in her arms and kissed her cheeks. “Rosie, did you miss me?”
“Yeah.”
Kate smiled as she picked her up, and chatted with her.
At that moment, the maid brought tea over. “Ms. Emerson, please have some tea.”
Kate put Rosie aside and looked at Summer.
Summer did not avoid her gaze and directly met Kate in the eyes.
The gaze of the two women crossed in the air. Summer should no hint of fear, and Kate sneered.
Summer turned around and handed her tablet to the maid. “Bring Rosie upstairs to play.”
As she said that, she told Rosie, “Mommy and Auntie have to talk about something. Go upstairs and play first. Mommy will join you later.”
“Okay.” Rosie nodded and was brought upstairs by the maid.
As soon as Rosie left, Kate cast off any pretense, and her face was unabashedly contemptuous. “Rosie follows Leonardo and is kind to everyone. She catches everyone’s eye.”
She did not like Summer three years ago, and three years later, she still did not like her.
“Really?” Summer twitched her lips, her expression remained the same. “I don’t really understand what you’re on about, Ms. Emerson, but I know you must have some misunderstandings with Leonardo. Why don’t you look for him instead?”
Summer had clearly seen the attitude Leonardo had toward Kate.
The siblings were clearly at odds, and Leonardo would not listen to Kate now.
Hence, Kate had to look for her.
Humans were like that, always prepared to strike at someone’s soft spot.
How soft did Kate think she was compared to Leonardo?
Kate had, in fact, very little contact with Summer and did not know Summer particularly well.
Sensing the barbs hidden in Summer’s words, Kate was a little surprised, but she got even angrier.
“And the misunderstanding between me and Leonardo isn’t because of you?” Kate looked at her coldly, and her tone grew even heavier. “If you’re smart, you’d know your place and leave Leonardo yourself.”
Summer sat on the sofa and casually said, “Tell Leonardo that yourself.”
“Summer!” Kate was so pissed that she bolted up from the sofa. “Don’t make things difficult!”
Summer took a deep breath and pretended to be puzzled. “Ms. Emerson, your trip here today, I suppose Leonardo doesn’t know about it?”
While the two Emerson siblings were at odds, they still shared some similarities.
For instance, their penchant for ordering people.
It was as if everyone was supposed to be under their control and obey them.
Summer was annoyed, but she still kept a calm smile on her face.
Kate stared at her with a very unsightly expression. “You ordered someone to inform Leonardo?”
“Who doesn’t know Ms. Emerson, his elder sister? If you came here, they would obviously need to inform Leonardo.” In truth, she was not sure if the maid had informed Leonardo or not.
Despite that, Kate clearly believed her words.
Kate was still afraid of Leonardo deep down and reluctantly asked Summer, “Are you with Leonardo just for his money and power? How much money do you need to leave him?”
Kate had always looked down on Summer and felt that Summer was after Leonardo’s money and power.
Summer snorted. “Even if I was after Leonardo’s power and money, why would I leave him just because you offer me money? Won’t it be better for me to stay with him and be the mother of his child?”
As she said that, she became very curious and asked, “But, how much money are you offering me to leave Leonardo? If the amount is to my liking, I might consider it.”
Summer was clearly teasing Kate, and it made the latter tremble in anger.
“I hope you can stay this arrogant!” Kate gritted her teeth and drop that sentence before leaving abruptly.
When Kate left, Summer heaved a sigh of relief.
She leaned on the sofa to ponder for a moment, and just as she was thinking about going upstairs to look for Rosie, she heard movements outside.
As she looked at the door, she saw Leonardo walking in big strides toward her.
Summer looked slightly surprised. The maid actually did call Leonardo to come back home.
Leonardo walked straight to her and asked with his eyes narrowed, “Where’s Kate?”
“She left.” Summer pursed her lips. “I pissed her off.”
While she said that, Summer looked innocently at Leonardo.
Leonardo only raised an eyebrow and did not say anything before turning to leave.
Summer stood up. “You’re leaving just like that?”
Leonardo did not even look back, and his steps became even faster.
Summer adjusted her expression.
She purposely said that she had pissed Kate off to test what kind of position Kate held in his heart.
Now, it seemed… like Leonardo was so pissed that he did not recognize her anymore, and he clearly did not care what happened between her and Kate.
Then, what did he come back for?

Leonardo had received a call from the maid earlier and was told that Kate came looking for Summer. He was subconsciously worried that something bad would happen to Summer so he immediately drove back.
After all, if Kate could leave Summer to die back then, it naturally meant that she was not about to make peace with Summer when she visited while he was not at home.
Kate was looking for trouble with Summer.
Alas, upon his return, in no way did Summer look like she had been mistreated.
Leonardo got into the car and loosened his necktie as he drove back to Emerson Group.
Just as he entered Emerson Group and stepped out of the elevator, a secretary came to tell him that Kate was waiting for him in his office.
Leonardo wore an inexplicable smile. “How long has she been waiting?”
“Just momentarily,” the secretary replied.
“Didn’t you say there was a meeting earlier? Let’s have that meeting now,” Leonardo said as he walked straight to the meeting room.
The secretary stood there blankly, was the president deliberately making the vice president wait?
Who in Emerson Group did not know that Leonardo and Kate were siblings?
So, this situation meant that they were quarreling?
In the past, only those in the Emerson household knew that Leonardo and Kate were at odds with each other, and no outsiders knew about it.
The secretary only stood there for a moment before setting off to prepare the things needed for the meeting.
Kate waited and waited yet she did not see Leonardo return. Did he really go to look for Summer?
Even when he had lost his memories, was Summer still that important to him?
