“Oh…” The police officer suddenly showed an expression of realization, and mainly because the photo was extremely misleading, and the officer believed his words.
After that, the police officer turned to Summer and said with a heavy tone. “Young girl, quarrels between lovers are normal, we are busy too, don’t you know that you are wasting police manpower here?”
Summer could not believe that the police believed Stanley just like that. She waved her hands and said. “No, Mr. Officer, listen to me…”
The officer put away the logbook and said, “It’s late now, go back early, and if you run into any further issues, then look for us. Go on now.”
“I…” Summer was about to say something before she was pulled up by Stanley.
After that, Stanley’s said with a serious expression to the police. “Sorry for the trouble.”
“All good if no one’s hurt, take care of your girlfriend. No such nonsense next time.” As the officer said that, he continued, “The Criminal Investigation Team is waiting for you to report in for a while now, Mr. Bates.” Stanley went with the flow and said, “I’ll report in tomorrow. Thank you.”
On the side, Summer could not even react to what was going on before she was pulled out of the police station by Stanley.
She could not shake her hand off his grip at all.
It was not until they were out of the police station did Stanley let her go.
Summer stared coldly at him. “Who the hell are you?”
“Stanley, a returnee professor of criminal psychology, employed by Hoover City Criminal Investigation team as a psychological consultant.”
His tone and expression this time around were much more serious, but Summer still showed him a disgusted look.
“Oh? Just because you are a hired returnee psychological consultant, you could enter someone else’s home and take a shower, and mess with other’s stuff?”

As she walked ahead, Stanley followed along.

Summer took a look at her friend circle and confirmed that he did not actually send the photo there. She then opened her photo album and deleted the photo before turning and walked away.
Stanley followed her like glue, “I had only just come back to China, and am very unfamiliar with the place yet, as a friend you should be entertaining me right?”
Summer ignored him and went directly into a hotel, with Stanley following behind her.
When Summer checked in, she told the lady at the front desk. “I don’t know that man, and he had been following me.”
The lady at the front desk looked at Stanley and clearly did not believe such a good-looking and upstanding person would do something like that.
But to prevent any untoward incidents, she still got the security guard to stop Stanley.
Summer took her room card, and turned her head to look at him before swiping the card and entered the elevator.
After Stanley saw her entering the elevator, he showed the lady at the front desk a distressed look. “She’s my girlfriend, and we had a quarrel. Your establishment is not too far away from the police station, if I’m that sort of person, she would have called the police long ago.”
The front desk lady pondered for a bit, and thought it was reasonable, and the expression on her face softened as well.
Seeing so, a glint flashed through Stanley’s eyes, but it quickly disappeared.
“Get me a room, one that is opposite my girlfriend’s”
The front desk lady registered his ID card, and matched the photograph, and had only booked him a room after ascertaining he was the same person. …
It was already early morning when Summer washed up and got to bed.
She took out her phone and wanted to give Leonardo a call, but she was worried that he was already asleep.
He had been so busy lately.
So she had to give that idea up.
After tossing all night, she was exhausted, but she felt uneasy as soon as she closed her eyes.
So she could only sit up and turn on the TV as she leaned on the headboard of the bed as she nodded off watching TV throughout the night.
By the time the sun was up, she simply washed up and prepared to go down and check out.
Who knows, the moment she opened the door, she saw Stanley’s innocent smile.
“Morning, Summer.” He leaned against the door frame of the opposite room and greeted Summer in a very vibrant manner.
Summer had not slept the whole night, and her eyes were tired and painful, she was not in the mood to even squint at him, and could only grit her teeth as she walked toward the elevator.
Stanley followed her, “Want to have breakfast? The hotel has a breakfast buffet.”
“Not interested.” Summer entered the elevator, and looked up at the surveillance camera, as she leaned on the elevator wall and pressed the number of the floor below.
Stanley felt bored and did not speak to her.
However, when he stopped talking to Summer, the questions in Summer’s mind had resurfaced.
She remembered what Stanley said yesterday, and could not help but to ask him. “You’ve met me before?”
Seeing that Summer was now willing to speak to him, his interest returned immediately. “Yes, and you were much, much gentler back then.”
Summer gave Stanley a strange look. “Are you confusing me for someone else?”
“Look at my eyes.” Stanley finally leaned close to her.
“What are you doing?” Summer was astonished.
Stanley squinted his eyes and looked at her. “Do I look like I’m blind?”
Summer did not respond.
*Ding!*
The elevator door opened right at that moment.
Summer lowered herself and ran from under his arms.
She went straight to the front desk to check out, and just as she approached it, she saw a familiar figure and immediately stopped.
Vicky who was checking out at the front desk also noticed Summer.
Vicky was with several other women, and she walked to Summer with her arms folded. “Isn’t this the ex-wife of young master Emerson who had gotten a new boyfriend the other day? Already getting a room with that new boyfriend?”
Summer frowned. “None of your f*cking business.”
“You would actually curse people.” Stanley followed behind, and his tone was rather surprised.
In front of her was Vicky who hated her guts, and behind him was a psychopath that she could not shake off, Summer felt that her eyes hurt even more.
She walked past Vicky and went directly to the front desk. “Check out, thank you.”
She felt that if she spoke one more word to both of them, her life would shorten by a few years.
