Cry for help
Gamma Kiron had just returned from morning patrol with his men, after passing through the front gates, he’d seen them off to their posts and stopped by the dungeon shortly before intending to retire to his quarters, but something stopped him from leaving when he got to the dungeon gates. It was a loud feminine voice in distress, he recognizes that voice anywhere, maybe its because he hears it often from the outside of master’s bedroom, but the voice sounded just too familiar to ignore.
Is that not?? No… it can’t be… Ava wouldn’t dare to return here; she knows that death by the hands of her mate awaits her if she ever shows her face around here. He finally ignored it and continued walking his way, before the voice stopped him again, there’s no mistaking it this time… It’s her all right, but what in the goddess’s name would she come back here for?
Kiron decided to turn back and see what it was for himself, his ears probably may have been deceiving him after all, he entered the dungeon yard and was greeted by the guard men on duty. He simply nodded his head at them and continued in the direction from which he heard the voice, it took him a short while to locate the cell because now, the screaming noise had stopped.
Upon reaching the see-through cell, he couldn’t believe his eyes; there lay crying on the floor his master’s former mate.
“Ava…? W-what are you doing here?” This is bad… by the alpha’s judgement, she’s supposed to be executed now. She knew well before she came that returning here would mean giving up her life, but it seemed as if Ava didn’t care about that, and she truly didn’t, because she was here for something far more important.
Ava rose from the ground desperately upon hearing him call her name, “Kiron… Oh! Thank the goddess you came here! There’s no time to explain much but please, you have to hear me out!”
“Ava, you don’t even realize the penalty you’ve caused for yourself. You’re as good as dead in this cell. What could have been far more important to you than your own life?”
“The life of my mate,” she answered quickly. “The life of my Lucas De’ Clan is far more important than my own life Kiron, I came back here because his life is in danger! Nothing other than that would have been so important for me to return!”
Kiron’s look held worry, “what are you talking about?? My master….? What do you mean he’s in danger?”
“It’s Sabrina! Kiron, Sabrina has been wearing a mask of deceit this whole time! She framed me to send me away so she’d have all the time to kill him undisturbed, I saw him today! She’s been poisoning him with wolfsbane! You have to believe me when I say this, Sabrina is not who we all took her for… there’s no time to explain, but please…. you have to release me from this cell so I can stop her before she kills him completely!”
He shook his head, “I’m afraid I can’t do that Ava, you were banished by the laws of this land and condemned to death if you were ever to return. The laws were declared by the alpha himself, and there’s nothing I can do about that…”
“KIRON!!! Sabrina is a witch Kiron!!!! An evil witch who wants to punish my Lucas for the sins of his ancestors he knew nothing about! She’s going to kill him today if you don’t let me stop her! She plans on drowning him through dark magic! I saw it for myself Kiron!!!! Please…”
“You’re putting me in a very difficult position Ava, for all I know, you might just be making all this up to justify your returning here, I’m sorry to say this, but I can’t trust you; none of the things you say seems real…”
“Doesn’t seem real huh? Let me ask you a question… since the time I left, since the time Sabrina moved into his room, have you seen your alpha? Have you received any orders directly from him apart from the one Sabrina gives you??? Tell me Kiron!!!”
“Ava….”
“Please gamma Kiron, you love your alpha so much, would you bear the thought of him losing his life all because you refused to listen to me? Would you bear for him to lose his life when you know you could have done something to stop it??? Go and see what she has done to him if you need proof… even if you won’t release me, go and see your alpha in his room!!!”
“Ava, I don’t know….”
“I swear on my life that I’m not making this up if that’s what you think! You are a good person Kiron; I know you’ll do the right thing.”
Ava had gone back to sit on the floor, hugging her knees to her chest in sadness, she’d given up on trying to convince the gamma. Kiron was too much of a loyal servant, there’s no way he’d ever go against alpha Lucas’s orders in his absence.
‘Well, at least we tried,’ she heard Layla speak.
Kiron turned away from the cell and headed out of the dungeon gates, he doesn’t want to, he shouldn’t, but his mind can’t take this torture anymore.

Only one reason, and one reason alone made Kiron believe Ava for a second, a guard should never let a prisoners words get to him, NEVER!! It’s something he believes and also trains his men to believe, but this time, he just can’t help but take Ava for her words, maybe it’s because he’s had an encounter with Sabrina himself.
It happened that day, on the same day Ava got banished. Sabrina had come out of nowhere that day to hand him a letter to deliver to the alpha, it had only happened three weeks ago, but the memory was still fresh because of how much it affected him.
***FLASHBACK***
Kiron was on the training ground delivering lessons to the new recruits for the dawn army in the early afternoon of a fine day. The men were assembled with their training weapons, listening attentively to the words of the modest gamma as he spoke.
“To be a dawn soldier is one of the greatest honors one could ever be bestowed as a pack wolf; you fight to protect your territory, you fight to keep the peace and stability within the walls of your back, you defend your people against external enemies, you….”
“Excuse me, master,” he was suddenly interrupted by his personal guard, Ciel.
Kiron wasn’t pleased by the point of getting distracted while he was teaching, and he knows this only happened because of the fact that he is so kind, other masters would have punished this guard severely for interrupting the training session just like that.
“What is it??” He asked him curtly.
“Sorry master, but someone is here to see you. She says she won’t leave until she speaks to you.”
“Who is it?”
Ciel then pointed towards the young lady standing under a small tree near the field, directing his gaze to answer his question. What was her name again…? Oh yes… um, Sabrina.
Master and Ava had brought her in a few days ago, the poor refugee who’d lost her home recently to the rogues… it sure must be hard for someone as fragile as her, he knows how it was during his time, but…, what exactly did she come here for?
