The planning phase
After a few minutes of scrutinizing the weapon, Ava then wrapped the blade of the dagger around a small cloth before tucking it in her left boot.
“Thank you, Nani. Once again, I want to thank you all for the help you’ve given me, had it not been for what you did, I probably would have been dead by now.”
“Of course, we wouldn’t allow such to happen to our soon-to-be Luna,” Nani responded with a small smile.
Sighs, “I don’t know… do you… do you think there’s still a chance? For me…. And my mate to get back together?”
“I believe that beyond any reasonable doubt my dear, Lucas De’ Clan needs you. It’s time to go back to him now.”
“I also believe that too Ava,” Cian put in. “I’ve lived with Alpha Lucas for the greater part of my life, I know him well, and the one thing I am sure of is that his life has not been the same since the day you came into it.”
She turned to Kiara, “I hope you’ll now see the reason why I have to return home Kiara, thank you for being concerned for me going up against Sabrina, but I hope you’ll understand that this is a chance I must take.”
Kiara nodded, “I understand, and I do support what Nani said, Lucas needs you now; and even though I’m skeptical about you returning home at this time, I’m afraid I have no other choice than to agree because I know you want to save the life of your mate, so I will stand by your side no matter what.”
“Thank you, Kiara.”
“I too, will stand by your side Ava, even if we end up losing our lives to get that witch out, then we’ll do it out of utmost loyalty for our alpha,” Cian assured.
“All of you… you mean what you’re saying?”
“Yes, we do,” Nani answered. “We are all sworn members of the dawn pack and we pledged loyalty for the greater good of the pack and for our alpha when he took us in. We’ll do all we can to try to save his life now.”
“This means so much to me, thank you for standing by my side!”
“No need to thank us Ava, there’s not a moment to lose, now we await your command in plans towards saving your mate.”
Ava then began the planning phase, “I’ve been thinking about that, I have it all drawn out in my mind, but the first thing I need now is a way to sneak into the pack house without being seen by the guards if I’m even to do anything to stop Sabrina.”
“I’ve got that covered,” Cian said. “There’s an underground tunnel in the forest that borders the dawn territory, it leads straight to the middle of the packhouse. Alpha Lucas built it in case there were ever a time we needed to escape from the rogues if they outpowered us.”
“That will be perfect for me to enter. There’s still a lot more that I will share on the way, but let’s get going now.”
“No problem, Ava, I’ll get the van ready, from now on, we take your orders and go by anything you say.”
“No…it’s okay, you don’t have to follow all of my orders.”
“Of course, we do dear, you ARE our Luna after all, and had it not been for Sabrina, you would have been in your rightful position by now, Sabrina must be stopped!” Nani hammered.
After Cian readied a travelling van, the four of them departed for their journey towards the dawn house. In order for their mission to be successful, Ava continued planning with them on the way, letting them know of all her plans for the rescue and taking note of her suggestions, no one slept that night as they went over it a number of times, and by dawn, they reached their destination.
**********
Sabrina had flown with such rage erupting in her system, grumpily chanting the words out loud in the air.
“Never! Sabrina Virani will not go down like this! I will not go down until my revenge against Rabbi Sinclair is complete!”
After leaving the packhouse, it took a few hours for her to reach the place she had in mind; the hidden valley. She’s given it a lot of thought; she’s almost frustrated, helpless, and at this point, the tree of knowledge is the only place she can turn to. She hopes that Lehi will provide her with a solution to kill Lucas De’ Clan fast enough as the man has refused to die.
As soon as she landed, the tree had already been expecting it’s visitor. She didn’t need to come any closer before hearing Lehi’s voice.
“Welcome evil one. What brings you here?”
“You already know what I came here for Lehi, and I’m not here to waste any time. The hold I have on Ava Maynard has been broken, she knows who I am now and she’s coming after me. I want to kill Lucas De’ Clan, now and fast before I disappear from the dawn house forever.”
“Of course, I know of the aid you’ve come to seek, but I’m afraid, I cannot help you this time.”
The words shook Sabrina, “What do you mean you can’t help me Lehi??? …Are you not my friend? Have we not been allies for so very long? Why won’t you help me now that I need you the most? Do you think I flew all the way here for nothing?? All I need is an answer!! An answer that YOU can provide!!!”
“Indeed Sabrina, you are a very powerful creature and I hold you in such high regard, but the tree of knowledge is allied to no one, and besides, I’ve already given you the help you need.”
“No! You’re wrong! You have not helped me at all! You have not given me what I need!!!”
“Yes, I have Sabrina, the last time you visited, I gave you the greatest help in the form of advice, an advice that you failed to heed all because of the evil that resides in your heart.”
“Wow!” Sabrina scoffed. “What a wonder this world is! I never knew that the famous tree of knowledge would turn out to be such a liar… what advice did you give me huh???!!! WHAT ADVICE DID I FAIL TO HEED???” She yelled uncontrollably.
The tree suddenly began to unwind its branches, in order to reveal to Sabrina the answer she sought, a vision from the not-so-long-ago past…
