Broken stronghold
“Please… please help me!!! I don’t want to kill my baby… please! There has to be something else!!!!”
Upon hearing Ava’s words, Nani’s heart shook with tremendous hope. Now that right there! That was her Ava speaking! That was her Ava crying out for help!!!
She rushed over to Madeline, nudging her by the hand desperately, “please Madeline! Think for me! There has to be something else we can do to help Ava!!! She cannot kill that child!”
Madeline shook her head sadly again, “I’m sorry Nani, but like I said before, only the moon necklace can help, it symbolizes the mate bond and only it has the power enough to break off even the strongest of Sabrina’s charms. The power from the moon goddess herself.”
“Wait a minute…. D-did you just say moon necklace? Did she just say she lost it in the garden?” Nani quickly scurried in her cloak pocket, searching hurriedly for something as she threw out little items, needles, threads, cash, and all other little items she kept in there,
“I think I might just have the solution we are looking for!” She gasped as she searched her pockets frantically.
“You have the moon necklace?”
“Yes… I found it in the flowerbeds, the gardener found it about a week ago when he was weeding… he handed it to me after… I’ve been so distracted I forgot to ask round who it belonged to! Oh, I just hope I brought it here!!!”
It wasn’t in the first one. Nani had started searching the other pocket now, and then her heart leaped again when she finally saw it, tucked in a little corner of her second pocket, the small chain wrapped neatly around the glowing moon pendant which carried the goddess’s power.
“Oh! Thank the goddess! This is it!!! This is Ava’s necklace… Oh, the goddess be praised!” She gasped in relief as tears rolled down her eyes.
Madeline then called her attention to Ava, who had started walking towards the house again, “hurry!”
Nani rushed forward to reach Ava, who, like someone who’d fell into a trance, kept walking in a straight direction like a robot, oblivious of her surroundings. Nani reached her right on time and dragged her back, quickly yanking off the gold necklace and smashing it on the ground, before quickly replacing it with the moon necklace.
Immediately, Ava snapped out of the trance, looking over at Nani. As soon as she realized what had happened, she burst into tears, burying her face into the older woman’s chest.
“My baby….! I…. would’ve killed… I would’ve killed my child!!!” She cried.
Nani patted her hair softly, comforting her, “it’s ok dear, it’s all over now… That evil witch will no longer harm you or your child.”
Sniffs, “oh! Nani! Thank you…. thank you so much for not giving up on me!”
“You should know me by now dear… as long as my Lucas is involved, that’s the last thing I’d ever do.”

“Aaaaahhhh!!!” Sabrina screamed as she sensed something that evening; one of her strongest holds has been broken, she doesn’t know how, but she is sure it’s the one on Ava, and now she’s unable to reconnect with the controlling power, it seems to have been destroyed by a greater force. It can only mean one thing; she’s been found out.
“I won’t be surprised if its that nasty old goat! Meddling into affairs that do not concern her!” She snapped angrily.
Sabrina fears what is to come, if Ava is no longer in her control, it won’t be long before she comes here in attempt to rescue her mate. She’s almost getting frustrated at this point, she wants a slow and painful death for Lucas De’ Clan, but how can a death be slow and painful for one that refuses to die?
All her charms, all her tortures, and yet, the soul refuses to leave body. It will be a waste if she ends up not getting what she wants at this point. NO! This will not be the end of her, she has to intensify her powers now, anything that will ensure the bane of Lucas De’ Clan, she’s desperate at this point, and now it seems as if there’s only one other place to turn to.
“S-Sabrina!” She turned to see Lucas reaching for her, calling her. He’s still in that same position she left him, that pathetic condition, but Sabrina only wishes for him to experience more pain.
“How I wish I could just kill you now, but why? Why won’t you die Rabbi???” She hissed.
Sabrina has seen it; Ava will soon be here. NO! She cannot let things end like this for her! Sabrina Virani will keep fighting until the end.
I will not leave here until I have my revenge on you, Rabbi Sinclair! She swore as she hurriedly grabbed her cloak and left the room. She has to leave the packhouse when the sun is still in the sky, but she has no choice, there’s not a moment to waste, she now needs as much help as she can get, and she knows she can’t get it within these walls.
“This will not… and CANNOT be the end of Sabrina Virani!”

“I want to thank you for all your help, Madeline! You don’t know how much this means to me. I’m not sure I would have ever forgiven myself if I killed my baby today,” Ava smiled, clutching her belly.
After Sabrina’s hold on Ava was broken this morning, Nani and Devan had safely returned her to the camps where she ate and rested from the nights journey, Ava didn’t realize how hungry she was until she’d been served, she ate as much, both for the baby and for herself. Nani and Madeline could do nothing but laugh and watch in ecstasy. They’d all rested and eaten when Madeline decided her work here was done and it was time for her to leave, but first, she had a few nuggets to give Ava, thereby making her stop by her tent.
Madeline sat beside her, brushing off Ava’s appreciation as she did.
“My gifts were given to me for a purpose Ava, and all that I have done is part of what it was meant for. No need to thank me, I’ve been given the greater reward of seeing the many smiles I’ve been able to create on people’s faces through the years.
Sighs, “my child might be alive, but I’m not sure the relationship between me and my mate can ever be restored, and it’s all thanks to Sabrina.”
“Don’t ever let those words out of your mouth again, Ava! Indeed, that might have been Sabrina’s purpose but no one fools the moon goddess, she didn’t place you in his life for nothing dear.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I am telling you now that the purpose for which the goddess created this union is about to manifest itself, now the time has come for you to get up from this place and fulfill the destiny this mate bond was created for!”
“But how? How do I do that?”
“You have to stop Sabrina.”
Ava let out an empty laugh at Madeline’s statement then, “you do realize that Sabrina is a powerful thousand-year-old witch, right? And I’m just a measly omega who can’t even resist her enchantments.”
“Everything that’s happened was for a purpose Ava, Sabrina has done nothing but make you stronger, and by the time all this is over, after Sabrina has been stopped, the relationship between you and De’ Clan will do nothing but flourish dear.”
“I want to help my mate Madeline, I really do, but…. I don’t know, how do I stop her? How do I save his life?” She asked desperately.
“I don’t know the answer to that, but you do; you have to find the inner power that lies in you dear,” she then brought her hand to touch Ava’s belly. “Sabrina meant to kill the young prince, but she failed, the same will go for your mate if she is stopped. You are the bane of that witch’s existence, Ava, no one else but you.”
