Revelation
Nani ignored her statement and began a new attempt in convincing her…
“Sabrina isn’t who we all thought she is! She is actually Susannah, the one who cursed your mate and killed his family, she wears a magical mask that shields her true identity, that is why none of us knew when we saw her. You have to listen to me! She is the one who planned everything! She is the one who set you up! She IS the one who got you banished! Her real intention was to kill you, but your mate refused to do so, even with all the pressures she put on him, he resisted, and now, she’s killing him. She’s draining his life and now you are the only one who can help him! Please Ava! I beg you! Do not kill this baby… Please…” Nani cried.
Her words left Ava astonished, trying to figure out what she was saying, it took a few moments for her to do so. Susannah was the cause of all this? Susannah is the one killing her mate now? Susannah got her banished?? It was all Susannah? This was too much to take in, she stood there for a moment, trying so hard to come to terms with what Nani was saying and then suddenly the memory of any affection she felt before suddenly wiped off…
“Let her do as she wishes with him! Lucas De’ Clan can rot in hell now for all I care,” she then shrugged and continued walking her way, towards the abortionist’s house.
Nani looked over at Madeline, who didn’t appear baffled by Ava’s reaction, she turned again and continued calling her name.
“Ava??? AVA!!!!”
Ava didn’t answer, she skidded happily as she continued her way, ignoring the fact that Nani was screaming her name like a mad dog.
After seeing that it was all a futile effort, Nani then turned again to Madeline, her face red and flushed with more tears, “you see??? I told you!!!! I told you it was a waste of time trying to convince her! I told you she wouldn’t listen to me!!!”
Madeline then took her hand, patting it softly, “calm down Nani, relax now and let me take it from here.” She then called Ava’s name. “Ava!”
Ava still didn’t answer, continued walking, she’d almost reached there now! Soon this child would bother her no more. Madeline left Nani and rushed forward, heading close to Ava, and then the next set of words that came out of the priestesses’ mouth stopped Ava short from going any further.
“So dear, you didn’t know you were enchanted?”
Ava didn’t turn around then, didn’t say anything; only stood to hear what the priestess would say next, Madeline continued.
“You saw yourself doing things you never thought you could do in your right frame of mind; his voice was like a remote control in your head, when he asked you to put on the necklace, you obeyed, when he asked you to kiss him, you obeyed, when he asked you to lie with him, you obeyed without force or compulsion, did you really think it was ordinary? Did you really think you were in your right mind to do all that?”
Ava turned around then, her brow furrowed, “what are you talking about?”
“Susannah controls your mind the same way she controls that of your mate. On your neck lies the root of all your problems, the very key that opens the door to all the problems you’ve been facing.”
Ava touched her neck then, and her hand hit against a bump, she looked down at it, and of course she saw the gold pendant necklace that Ray gifted her with that day she was accused, she hadn’t taken it off ever since, it never occurred to her to do so.
Nani’s eyes shone at the revelation, so it was the necklace that was blinding her all along! Of course, she knew it couldn’t have been Ava. Oh, how she wished she knew of it beforehand!!! She’d have yanked it off Ava’s neck since! The priestess continued.
“That necklace carries the blood of your former betrothed, along with Sabrina’s powerful magic, it makes you bend to her will like a snake, and she’s been poisoning your mind, she’s the one taking you to that house Ava, not you.”
“That’s a lie!” Ava snapped. “Sabrina has no control over me…. it’s me that wants this child gone! Not her!”
“No, you’re mistaken. The real Ava would never flush away the seed of my Lucas! She’d carry that baby for as long as she had to; she wouldn’t mind the pains nor the cramps nor the endless contractions she’d had to bear to bring that young cub to life, she’d do it all for him because she loves him, even with his flaws! But this woman that speaks of abortion… I don’t know her at all, and I knew it wasn’t my Ava the minute she first mentioned it!”
Madeline nodded, affirming Nani’s statement, “take off that necklace Ava Maynard, and replace it with the one your mate gifted you, the one that signifies the mate bond, that necklace carries power and will render Susannah’s hold on you useless, it will reverse her charm and the spell will be broken once you put it back on.”
Upon remembering Lucas’s necklace, Ava nearly broke down. “I… I don’t have it with me anymore, Ray he… he threw it away in the garden that day.”
Madeline shook her head in sadness, “then I’m afraid there’s nothing more that can be done, that was the only way to break the spell. A few seconds from now, you will forget all I have said and continue your journey to the abortionist’s place, and no one will be able to stop you; not even the strongest of men.”
Ava felt as if she was losing her mind then, she closed her eyes and began to shed tears.
“Please… please help me!!! I don’t want to kill my baby… please! There has to be something else!!!!”
“I’m sorry dear, I wish there was something else I could do, but I’m afraid, there isn’t.”
