The enchanted future Luna
Sabrina went over to her cupboard to bring out a box of jewelry, she removed a shiny gold necklace with a ruby pendant, and then also took a small needle from her sewing kit.
“Come here, Ray Devlin.”
The servant obeyed and approached the witch, she was at the table, preparing small potions in a bottle.
“Give me your hand.”
She then took his hand and pierced his thumb with the needle, pouring small drops of his blood on the red pendant while she continued whispering incantations.
“Once this pendant touches Ava’s hand, you will have the power to control her mind the same way I control yours, she will do anything you ask of her, you will take her to her room and there you will lie with her, that is all you have to do; then you will leave the rest to me.”
Ray smiled, taking the necklace from Sabrina’s hand, “I am more than pleased to serve you milady, your wish is my command and now, I will do what you have asked.”

In the early afternoon, the alpha of the dawn pack received a letter from the messenger. It was the gamma who delivered it to Lucas De’ Clan.
As he received the letter from gamma Kiron, he asked, “what’s it about?”
“The supreme council summons you sire.”
He held up the scroll, “Where is the messenger? He was supposed to have brought this to me himself.”
“I’m sorry sire, but messenger Dillion refused to stay for you to receive it from his hand like he usually does, he said he didn’t have time to wait even though I told him that you’d be with him in a few minutes, he looked like he was in a dire hurry.”
Lucas hesitated at first, before brushing off the thought, “Very well, do you have any idea what the message is about?”
“It’s from the supreme council sire, they summon your presence immediately.”
“The supreme council summons me immediately? In that case, it must be a matter of emergency, I spoke to them about sending for me on short notices the last time I went there, they promised not to do it again unless it was an urgent matter.”
“I guess so, master.”
“Prepare the vehicle and inform the beta that he will be in charge while we are gone, we leave now.”

Ava and Kiara were in the pack’s garden that afternoon, engaging in their usual gossip after breakfast, before Ray strolled in. Sabrina had informed him that alpha Lucas had just left the packhouse, and now it was the best time to strike, while the metal was still hot.
Kiara was the first one to see him coming from behind Ava, she informed her then, “he’s here again.”
“Who?” Ava turned around to see him approaching her, she didn’t know why but his presence was beginning to put her off, what exactly was he always coming to meet her for? Did he know how awkward he always made her feel?
Kiara then stood up, leaving the garden, “that reminds me, I have some work to do this afternoon, I’ll leave you both alone so you can talk.”
Ava was trying to give her a “please, don’t leave me alone with him” signal, but Kiara didn’t get the hang of it on time, she left. Ray then sat beside Ava, who did well in hiding her upset face.
“Hello Ava, it’s good to see you after so long, now we can talk.”
Sighs, “what exactly do you want to talk about Ray?”
“I just wanted to you know… catch up on old times.”
“There’s nothing to catch up on Ray, you and I were never meant to be, even you know that more than I do, that’s why you never even bothered to go out to look for me when you realized I was missing.”
Ray nodded, “I know Ava, I know I wasn’t the best mate-to-be to you, and I’m hoping I can make amends for my actions, even if we can’t be together again, I still want to be by your side, I still want to be your friend.”
“Of course, there can always be room for friendship, in fact, I’ve forgiven you a long time ago and to tell you the truth I equally blame myself for what happened to you, you must have been through so much; losing your life, your alpha rank.”
Ray nodded, “yes, it was a whole lot.”
“Thank the goddess for that necromancer who gave you a second chance at life. Now I can forgive myself and let go of the guilt I felt in the past for not preventing your death.”
“Yes, you can Ava, I’m glad I had this talk with you.”
Smiles, “me too.”
“One more thing!” Ava then watched as Ray brought out a gold necklace from a small box in his pocket, he opened the box before revealing the necklace to her.
“I want you to have this; it’s a gift I’ve always wanted to give to you, but never had the chance to.”
Her gaze held the shiny jewelry with a red pendant on it, truly it was beautiful. “Oh Ray, this is lovely but…. I’m sorry, I can’t accept it, she then touched the one on her neck, the one Lucas gave to her on the night of the peace ball. “I already have one equally as beautiful that was gifted to me by my mate, and I never take it off, so sorry again, but I won’t be able to wear yours.”
Ray chuckled, “it’s ok if you can’t wear it Ava, I know that I can never take the place of your mate, but I still want you to have it, even if you won’t wear it on your neck.” He didn’t wait for her to answer before he took her hand and placed the pendant on it, and on the first contact with that ornament, Ava felt something strange, something inside her changed, something she couldn’t control.
“Take it, Ava,” Ray then commanded, letting go of her hand.
She then took the necklace, somewhat mesmerized as she stared at it in her palm.
He smiled, knowing the charm had worked, before testing its power further, “now, dear Ava, put it on.”
She stared at him wide eyed, and then back at the necklace, before unhooking it to wear around her neck, he helped her raise her hair while she wore the shiny pendant, Ray then removed the former one she wore, the one given to her by her mate, and threw it in one of the nearby flower beds. It was time to move onto the next test.
“Good Ava, this necklace looks so good on you dear. Now, give me a kiss, Ava.”
