Rafael dropped his phone and looked out through the window, he had a lot on his mind but he couldn’t do anyway with the thought that she was hiding something from him and he just couldn’t figure it out, they had been married for over four weeks, four freaking weeks, still they haven’t consummated their marriage, each time they get intimate, she gets scared and run, just what was she hiding from him? And how would he get through to her? He could tell each time that she wanted it to but something was holding her back, these past three weeks, he had tried to keep his hands to himself, and just give her the space she wanted but it has gotten to the point that he couldn’t take it anymore, he has been calibate since they started dating and even when they got married, this is the longest he has gone without any sexual activities since he lost his virginity at eighteen, he might be everything else but being a cheat is not one of them, he was married so he would wait until she was ready no matter how hard that’s going to be anyway, he didn’t think the wait will be long anymore, with the way she responds to his kisses now, some days she gets so into it that he would just want to go on but each time he pulls back, he had told her he will wait and he would, well today was going to be that day, he already had plans.
“You are in love with her,”
The annoying voice said, he just laughed, he knew he wasn’t in love with her, he was wise enough to know his heart, he has never been in love and he wasn’t sure he ever wants to be, his father had loved his mother and look where that led him.
“Tish, coward,”
“Get the fuck out of my head,”
He warned going back to his work, he had been busy for the past three weeks with the new hotel he intended building on the land he acquired from Margaret and her friend, work was already in progress after the delay caused by having to ship in New materials after the Leonard saga, the bastard still continues to say he wasn’t guilty and that Rafael was setting him up, the gullible public seems to believe and buy his pity party and paint him as the bad person, he didn’t care though, he has always been the bad person, even when he was just young, his parents especially his mom had blamed the business failing on him saying that his dad wasted too much on him, till this day he still couldn’t figure out what a young kid would need that would make a whole company go bankrupt.
“Sir?”
He looked up to see his personal assistant standing behind his desk, he hadn’t seen her come in.
“Yes, Armani?”
“Leonard Jones is here to see you,”
She revealed, she didn’t look pleased, neither did he, what did Leonard want? If he came here to tell him to drop the charges against him then he must think again because Rafael didn’t plan to, making sure Leonard lands in jail and lose everything he owns was one of his new goals, he hated when men cheat to get by.
“Let him in,”
He replied, she nodded and left, a few moments later the moron walked him, looking as proud and pompous as always, he didn’t have much time to attend to him as he needed to go pick his wife, he was just going to hear what he had to say.
“Yes? What do you want?”
“Want? Why will I want something from you Salvador?”
“Okay, why are you here, I am busy so go straight to the point,”
“I am here to tell you that whatever stunt you think you are pulling, that I have been in this business longer than you, you can’t beat me on this, you think I might be scared of you but I am not, I have more connections than you think and I can pull those strings, I mean I already did, this is a warning to back off, we no longer have a business so fuck off and mind your business or else, you might be the one being dragged, you know the public already don’t like you, you haven’t exactly been a good human in their eyes, to them you are just a ruthless businessman enriching yourself off other people hard work,”
“Well, go on, or is there no more? Guess what? I am still going to make sure you get what you deserve, Jones, just watch out for it, as much as I will like to keep exchanging words with you, I have an important place to be,”
Rafael said, getting up and picking up his things,”
“After you,”
He said to Leonard who walked out of his office, he made a stop at his secretaries office and told them he was off, they all chorused goodnight, he got in the elevator with Leonard who he could sense was fuming.
“You still have a chance to stop whatever you think you are doing Salvador, you are going to get yourself in some really big mess if you keep this up,”
“If I were you, Jones, I would watch out for myself and do the right thing, you are worrying about me? Jones friendly advice while it still needed to turn yourself in, just maybe you can spare your family going to the streets and feeding off social services.
“Is that a threat Salvador? Are you threatening me right now?”
“No, I am not, why would I? I don’t do threats, I show you just what I mean, nowhere for you to hide now, so better turn yourself back to the police while I am still talking nicely, did you really think you could get off, it’s not just anybody that is talking, it’s me, you think I will let you off? I just wanted you to do the right thing by saying what you did with your mouth, trust me I don’t strike without evidence, anyway enjoy your evening as it might be your day outside as a free man,”
He said, and walked off, leaving Leonard standing there, he was furious but he wasn’t going to let that ruin his mood, if he was someone that engaged in a physical fight, he would have wanted to give Leonard a good beating, but he wasn’t, he let go of thoughts of Leonard, he had a date with his wife and he didn’t want her to worry about him.
