CHAPTER THIRY EIGHT
“Do you think you’d be able to escape?” Daniel’s hot breath feel on my neck.
One thing was certain, I didn’t care what the consequences of my actions are and I’m none apologetic about it.
I inhaled sharply the breez, turning over to him with an indifferent look.
“Say what you want but don’t you dare lay your filthy fingers on me.” I warned with a stern look.
The expression on his face showed he was amazed about the kind of woman I was. Fearless, bold and even sassy.
Deep down, my head is a market place and I shiver as I don’t know he was going to do next. I can only hope he doesn’t hurt me and I desperately know I need to work on my tongue!
“What makes you think I’d want to touch your body?” He asked with a deadpan face.
“I don’t know but like I said, don’t you fucking touch me.”
My eyes meets his and he grinned, devouring him with his hungry eyes as though I was some of meal.
I roll my eyes really hard and sneared at him, he sighs and dragged me along like I was come kind of prisoner.
Maybe I am one, but I didn’t deserve to be dragged like a criminal.
“Hey! I can walk on my own.” I struggled to gain possession of my hands and the second I did, I pushed him away.
I know I’m a pain in his neck, probably the most stubborn human he had seen. He stood still watching as I took the lead and he followed me behind like a princess.
“If I were you, I’d pray my last prayer. Your death is two steps away and I’m going to watch you burn alive.” His cold down embraced me and I find myself entangled to his last words.
There was no way I would let the entire pack be set on fire, I must do something to safe the innocent lives dwelling there even if it’s the last thing I do before dying.
“Over confidence kills faster than fire.” I huffed.
Thirty minutes later, I sight the rest of the rogues together with their craze boss having a conservation.
The second the boss sees me, his eyes turns red and I wonder how I’m not able to see fume leaving his nose.
I wasn’t given the opportunity to even speak when his strong hand blared hard against my face. My cheeks turn red instantly and for a few moments, I’m unable to see clearly.
The pains is persistent and I had to endure it all through the night.
“One more stupid attempt and I’ll serve your head on a golden platter to your pack.”
I sniffled, short of words and scared to even say anything further.
Daniel looked at me and grimaced. He showed his deepest satisfaction that I had been silenced and didn’t have the audacity to speak further.
I want to eye him but my face is too swollen I can’t even do that anymore.
One of the rogues drew out a map from his bag pack and began to read.
“Two packs down on the Costal Villa. I think it’s only one remain at this area.”
“Where’s the location? Roshana Villa?” The boss asked.
“Yes, it’s the only pack remaining.” The rogues retorted.
“Leave them, we’ll pay them a surprise visit. A dreadful one that the survivers will never be able to survive.” The boss laughed hysterically.
I shock my head, this wasn’t fair at all. These people didn’t deserve to be killed in a mercilessly way. My eyes are blurry as tears cover my vision and I’m unable to see properly.
He added,” I think it’s time we visit Derek. What do you think about this Daniel?”
“Brilliant boss, if we delay much, information would reach them that we are on our way.” Daniel replied.
“I’m glad you are finally beginning to use your head.” The boss teased.
We begin to walk a gain and after a while my legs begin to hurt. I’m more angry at the fact that there is no means of transportation aside trekking than my own death.
“They are rogues Kenzy! Wild beasts Kenzy!” The word echoed in my head as I frowned.
Obviously, they have gotten used to walking for long distances without resting or getting tired.
They are equally faster, it takes two of my steps to make one of their and after walking this distance for more than twenty minutes, I practically feel on my kneels and collapsed.
“Pick her up!” The boss commanded as Daniel rushed towards me before the others could. I can still hear their voices as they keep walking.
“At this point I know there is no turning back and I wouldn’t be able to save myself even if u really wanted.
“Daniel stopped on his track, dropping me on the ground and turning over to their boss.”
“She wants to relieve herself.” He scoffed.
What! I didn’t say that! Why was he lying? I turned over to him but he shut a dreadful look. One that says don’t you dare speak.
I gulped, turning to meet the gaze of almost all of them on me!
“5 minutes! Don’t you dare delay us.” He warned.
“Daniel, caught up later.” He smirked.
I’m amazed to the level the stupid boss trusts Daniel and I fumed wondering why he made up such a lie.
Once they walked a reasonable distance, I turned over to him, bold and aggressive.
“Why did you…” I hadn’t completed my statement when his strong hands covered my mouth tightly.
I can barely talk, my screaming and protests are nothing compared to his masculine body and I gave up.
“That’s stupid of you.” He said, letting go of me.
“What do you want from me?” I almost yelled.
“Run away.” He muttered.
“What?”
“Listen, I don’t have time to explain, but I was betrayed.”
“Betrayed?” I mumbled.
“My pack, I had to leave and join the rogues. The big plan is coming.”
“Pack? Rogues? Big plan?” I repeated after him but none of these seemed to make sense to me.
“You won’t be able to say everything, you’ll have to make a choice.” He explained.
“What choice?” My mind is racing and I’m trying so fucking hard to understand what Daniel is trying to say!
“I’m glad you asked, the right path leads you straight to your Romeo.”
“Great! It’s Daniel.” I reminded
“The left path leads to your pack. Which would explode in less than an hour. This is a shortcut to your pack.”
Oh no, what he is trying to say dawns on me, “I … I have to…” my words choke and I’m trembling.
“It’s either you save Dylan or the pack. You’ll surely lose one and I hope you make the right decision.” His husky voice brings me back to reality.
“Now run!” He yelled.
I’m breathing so fast as I begin to take steps away from him, I had to make a decision soon and make up my mind that I would never be able to see whoever my decision affects.
“Run!” He screamed again and I think I know what’s right to do.
