CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE
I woke up early in the morning, touching the other end of the bed to reach Dylan but I can’t feel anything.
The second I realized he wasn’t there I opened my eyes widely, lurching up the bed instantly.
“Dylan.” I call softly.
I stood up from the bed but realized I was naked! I roll my eyes and in a swift I’m putting his clothes down my body.
I picked up my mobile to aid me see and walk my way to the light switch.
I turned it on but there was no sign of Dylan around.
Maybe you were in the sitting room, I tried to convince myself, as my breathing level continued to increase.
“Dylan.” I called out again, this time I was a bit thick and shaking.
He is not in the sitting room either, I panicked as a sweet scent of Maple syrup filled my nose.
He was probably in the kitchen, without thinking again I was standing in front of the kitchen. Pulled the door open but he is still not here!
I mumbled, drawing closer to the kitchen table. There is a cover plate on it with a can of orange juice at the right, then water at the left. I creased my brows flicking the cover of the plate.
I covered my mouth in shock, he had prepared breakfast before leaving.
I stared at the plate as my stomach grumbled to have one of those pancakes and maple syrup.
Dylan was a good cook and I knew the meal was going to taste as amazing as his lips.
But I still had my worries, where had he gone to do early in the morning?
My curiosity came to a halt when I was a note carefully kept under the can of water. I stared at it and in a swift I was holding it already, reading the content.
It says:
Hey babe, good morning. I guess you are just waking for your sleep and probably searching the whole house for me. Well, I went out hunting with the rest of the pack so you might notice the usual silence.
By the way, I will return later in the day. Breakfast is set and I almost forgot…lunch is in the refrigerator just in case I don’t return before afternoon. We’ll have dinner together. I know you will probably miss me already but I will be back before you know it.
Kisses
Dylan.
I smiled and kissed the letter before placing it on my heart. How could no one love Dylan?
He was just the best in the whole world and my only prayer remains to be with him forever.
I raced back to the room, brushed my teeth, took my bath then returned back to the dinning to take breakfast.
It was too good and I wished Dylan and myself had to stay together to have it.
Gulping the juice down, my phone began to vibrate and I dropped my pancake to know who the caller was.
It’s Hannah and I smiled before hurrying to pick up the call.
“Hi Hannah.” I speak with my mouth filled with pancakes and I’m almost sure she didn’t get a word I said.
“Woah! Easy young woman.” She laughed from the other side of the phone.
“Sorry, I’m having breakfast.”
“Well, it’s obvious.” She chuckled.
I smiled rolling my eyes before speaking again.
“Are you ever going to change?”
“Uhm the last time I changed, I’m perfect.” She snapped and I began to laugh.
“I see someone’s been lying to you lately.” I scoffed.
“The same way you’re lying to yourself about being in a honey mood?”
Those words crushed me, not that I was exactly angry with her but it was the truth!
Hannah noticed the sudden change in my voice and tried to apologise.
“I’m sorry…. It’s just that I am worried about you!”
“How?” I muttered.
“Raymond won’t give up. I’m sure you know that. And as your best friend I would never want you to leave Dylan because I know he is the right man for you. You need to act fast before he doesn’t something silly.”
I stayed motionless, thinking of nothing else but how to get Hannah to buy me extra time without revealing his secret to her.
“I think Dylan and the pack are working on something.” I blurted out and soon regretted why I spilled that out.
“The pack? Pack of what?”
“Oh, that’s the name of the guy that owns the house we are staying in. They are pretty close to each other.” I shut my eyes, hoping she was going to believe what I had asked.
“Cool name.” She chuckled.
“Don’t even think about it.”
Hannah began to laugh really hard, I joined soon and after a lengthy conversation we said bye to each other as she talked about going to work.
“Goodbye cupcake, do extend my regards to Dylan.”
“No, I won’t.”
“Well, get ready cause you would be going in for it.” She snapped
“How bad can that be?” I asked, pulling her legs.
“Don’t let me take the nearest flight down there to teach you a lesson.* She scoffed.
“I would like to see you do that.” I sniggered.
“Bye for now, dummy.”
Before I’m able to reply to her, she had already hung up and I was really glad I got to speak with her.
I finished up breakfast and sat down to see a movie. It seemed boring. I had never really settled down to watch a movie without Dylan so I just gave up on the movie and went back to bed.
I woke up in the afternoon thinking I was going to be able to catch a glimpse of Dylan but I didn’t. It was so lonely in her without him. And I didn’t want to take the risk of stepping out. What if there was another intrude watching me? Or worse, Raymond could have his cameras all around me.
I was a bit sad as I took out the spaghetti from the refrigerator. Warm it up and eat it with eggs. After that, I tried watching one of my favorite movies again but that wasn’t helping out and I soon dozed off on the couch.
The sudden cracking from the door send me jolting from the couch
“Who is it?” I asked.
There is no reply as the person pulls the door open!
