CHAPTER THIRTY FOUR
“Are you ready for this?”
Dylan asked with a tensed face. For some reason, I knew he didn’t want to play along with my silly plan. I knew the pack had their eyes on Raymond and soon enough, he would be arrested. Still, I wasn’t at ease and preferred to buy them more time as the digging continued.
“It’s fine! I don’t need to remind you it was all my idea after all.
“Okay.” He frowned.
Dylan slammed me hard on the door, causing a loud thud noise.
I smile at him and give him a thumbs up.
“How dare you Kenzy?”
“Dylan…please…” I pleaded for help but he wasn’t listening.
“You know, I used to love you a lot but not after you’ve betrayed my trust in you.”
“Mark my words Kenzy, I WILL MAKE YOU PAY!”
“Dylan, understand me, it wasn’t my intention. I’m sorry, please don’t hit me again.” I cried from the far end of the room.
If things work as planned, Edward would be breaking down this door any moment from now. And is quite patient enough to give him the satisfaction of eavesdropping.
One last scream from me, did the trick as Raymond banged hard on the door. His whole strength fell on the door and it threatened to fall apart.
My eyes met with Dylan, although it was a bit dark in here, I could still make out he was grinning at me.
“Who is it?!” Dylan growled like an angry lion.
I motion myself towards the back of the kitchen. If we were going to deceive Raymond into believing this whole drama then it had to be perfect.
Dylan pulled the door open the second he saw I was hiding already.
“You bastard, son of a bitch! Where is Kenzy?” Raymond tries to push Dylan out of the way but Dylan is way more stronger than he can ever be.
“Raymond! What a pleasant surprise it is to see you visiting today.” Dylan sniggered with his hands caught across his iron body.
“Where is Kenzy?” Raymond spoke almost immediately.
“Dylan smirks, “I knew you were smart but I didn’t know you would come so fast.”
“Stop beating around the bush and tell me where she is.”
Raymond had gone wild and I knew it was time for me to play my own part.
I come out of my hiding spot and try as much as possible to look uneasy.
Raymond spots me within seconds as I come towards his direction.
My eyes, weary and misty. He scrutinized me and turned over to Dylan.
“What have you done to her, Dylan?” He asked and the next thing he landed a punch on Roger’s nose.
“Oh, my gosh! What the hell is wrong with you Edward?” I asked running towards Dylan who in turn pushed me away.
“Kenzy, I know what he is doing to you, believe me I will get the police and my lawyers to destroy everything about them.
I hissed within me, what was Dylan saying again? That Raymond would be locked up and released after tests are conducted and confirmed that he wouldn’t leak the secret. Well, in my own thoughts, Raymond would be staying there for a lifetime. He wouldn’t ever give up on ruining the werewolf clan and I wouldn’t give up either on the ones I love dearly.
“What are you talking about Raymond?” I tried to sound as normal as possible.
“The sound, noise, your cries, did you think I didn’t hear that?”
I managed to fake a smile while gazing deep down into his eyes to create a bit of confusion.
“It’s just sounds from the kitchen, I was trying to make scrambled eggs and you know how bad I can be with that. So, Dylan came over to help me.”
“Kenzy…. Are you lying to me?” I felt his suspicions growing and maybe he was beginning to understand a little out of the clue I was giving him.
“No, I’m not lying, why would I want to do that?”
Raymond just keeps glaring at me, and checking my body for any visible sign that I was being molested.
“Look, I know I must be thinking about a lot of things right now but, I’m gonna tell you anyway.”
I gulped down as the words seemed stuck in my mouth.
“What?” He queried
“I’m… happy with Dylan, I know he took me away forcefully but he was quick enough to explain everything to me.”
Dylan looked at me and smirked, I trembled in fear the moment I saw him smiling and that didn’t go unnoticed by Raymond.
“Kenzy, is there something else you would like to tell me? Perhaps, Dylan could excuse us while we talk for a while.”
“NO! She is not going anywhere. Whatever you two are going to discuss, say it in my presence.”
Raymond is quiet for a while, I think we’ve managed to convince him that I’m held captive here. Now he knows that not saying these things of my own accord and he must be wondering, what on Earth could Dylan be using to blackmail me? Certainly, he knew whatever Dylan was using against was great and could cause massive destruction if not handled with care.
“Dylan, just so you may know, I will be back!” Raymond fumed. Snapping his fingers at Dylan.
“I see, so is that supposed to be a warning?”Dylan asked with anger burning in his tone.
“No, it’s a threat!” Raymond fired back at him and in a swift, he was gone.
I made sure he had gone far, far enough that I was no longer hearing the sound of his car which he drove away in a reckless way.
I huffed as Dylan pulled me to his body.
“Are you okay?” He asked, placing a kiss on my forehead.
“Yes, I’m fine.”
We stared at each other for a long while before he bursted into laugher.
“I see your boyfriend is gonna come fighting to have his darling back.” Dylan teased but I didn’t find it funny. Not a slight!
I frowned my face as I turned the other way.
“Are you seriously going to tease me with that?” I pretend to be fuming so he thinks and is very angry.
“Nice try.” He winked but I did respond to that.
“Fine, I’m sorry Kenzy.”
I curved my lips in a smile, picking my invisible hat of honor and putting it on almost immediately.
“I will think about it.” I chuckled, stroking his cheeks gently.
I’m feeling a bit sleepy so I kiss him on the lips before requesting departure.
“Good night bunny.”
He holds me back and slides his arms around my waist, grabbing my ass in the best way possible.
His touch, erasing every thought of sleep in my mind.
He drew closer and whispered into my ear.
“How about we sleep together? I could make it a memorable one.”
He caught my breath with his hot kiss, carrying me in his strong arms as we made it into his room.
