I’m cute

Chapter Sixty – I’m cute.
There were outside the university building.
They just had their last class for the day and Winx was hoping to head home. “About that lunch with your husband, he didn’t really agree to it, did he?”
Arya gave her a side glance. “It’s happening, don’t worry.”
“Are you going to make him or what?” a small frown rested on Winx’s lips. “You seem like a little demanding wife, don’t be like that. I’m sure he’d be busy with work and all…’
“He also likes escaping you know. Escaping work and his office. Eating with us will give him an avenue to escape all that. I know what I’m saying.” Arya convinced.
She didn’t actually know what she was saying. All she cared about was setting up this date with Damien and Winx.
As for Seth, she would still study. She doesn’t think she’s on his radar yet but his recent attitude with her was making her think otherwise.
“Winx? I wanna ask though. Don’t laugh.” She said.
Winx glanced at her and then back to the road. “If it’s a funny question, I’d laugh. What is it?”
Arya smiled. “It’s not funny. I’m just wondering, do you think Seth has a crush on me? Maybe a little bit?”
“Since he called you cute? Well, he’s never said that before but he usually complimented me when he was still dating my cousin, Edna. He’s just being nice, you know.” Winx shrugged.
Arya looked ahead, not saying a word, still pondering.
“And maybe it’d because he’s single now so there’s no law stopping him from flirting.” Winx added with another shrug.
“If that’s so then isn’t it safe to assume he’s also searching?” Arya asked back.
Winx rolled her eyes then patted Arya’s shoulder. “Don’t get your hopes high, girl. He was just bring nice to you.”
Not to forget that he didn’t directly say she was cute but being flustered made her look cute. Which was a common thing for anyone.
Also, he called her cute just after pointing out she was violent. Winx couldn’t understand why the fact he called her cute was the only thing her best friend could remember.
She looked ahead at where she was going. They were also heading to have lunch with Damien. Why was Arya thinking of another man while going to eat out with her husband?
Wasn’t she happy few minutes ago about eating out and was rushing to the place, so what changed?
She was like a switch, turning off and on, depending on her interaction with Seth. Seth just obliviously played the role.
“I hate what she’s doing to Damien. He’s a really good guy. Did he even permit her to date others while they were married?” Winx wondered within herself.
Such lifestyle didn’t please her at all. Maybe she should make sure Seth stays out of Arya’s life? That would mean limiting her movements whenever Seth was close.
Winx glared at Arya. “She seems happy to go for this lunch because I’d be there. Maybe I should plan more lunch dates for them? That could work.”
She hastened her steps. “Come on, Arya. Call Damien and ask him where we should meet. I’m getting excited for this lunch.”
Arya grinned mischievously. “Sure, sure. I’m glad you are excited about it too.” Her plan was going smoothly.
Damien received a call after he came out of the restaurant. He just had his lunch with a few business partners.
“Arya? Is she calling about the lunch? I thought she didn’t want it anymore since she didn’t call beforehand.” Damien stared at his phone.
One of the business partners stopped behind him and looked over his phone. “Girlfriend? Or some fling?” the lady asked.
Damien quickly covered the phone. “It’s nothing.”
That business partner was Mr. John’s eldest daughter, the nosiest creature Damien had ever met.
She was highly intelligent though and he preferred working with her than with her father. She was married and had kids so he didn’t think his love life should affect her.
“It’s nothing? I see a heart emoji on the name ‘Arya’. Surely someone you’re involved with. That’s not nothing.” She said again, still expecting some explanation.
Damien exhaled, keeping the phone in his pocket. He’d have to answer Arya later on, he didn’t want Mr. John’s daughter having a whiff of his marriage or it wouldn’t be a secret.
“I have lots of names with a heart emoji. It’s really nothing.” He replied again, a little more sternly.
The lady smirked. “I never knew you were into women. Well, I wouldn’t judge.” She chuckled then walked away.
Damien rolled his eyes so hard they almost stayed back. She saying she wouldn’t judge while judging was sheer hypocrisy. And the fact she didn’t even know that was alarming.
The names with heart emojis were those of his family members but he didn’t bother explain that to the nosey lady.
He snuck into his car before more business partners would walk out of the restaurant and he began driving off.
“Where would we eat out that wouldn’t be swarmed? I really don’t want someone having a picture or video of me eating out with two women?” Damien muttered.
A call buzzed in his pockets as he drove and he parked his car by the side. “Arya will really blow up my phone if I don’t answer…” he trailed off. The caller was Selena.
He shut his eyes for a while before picking the call. “Yes, Princess? What’s the urgency this time?”
He knew his sister only called when there was a matter of urgency. She always kept her independent aura around him so he knew he’d only be needed in her dire situations.
“Nothing much just that I need a girl or two to help me out with a modelling gig I got suddenly. I owe the fashion line a favor so I can’t deny.” She explained.
Damien had a pout. “That wasn’t as urgent as I thought.”
“It is. I need to come with someone but my manager is already heading for lunch. Also, she hated that fashion line. As a high class model, I can’t just go there alone.”
Damien nodded. “I see. Your pride is on the line. That sounds urgent, isn’t it?”
“Yes, it is! Find me someone, please. I don’t keep minions or I’d have used them. I’d pay the person for the one time job. They should consider themselves lucky.” Selena emphasized.
Damien looked up at the heavens then breathed out heavily. “Sure. I’d find someone as soon as I can. How many hours are you giving me?”
“Twenty-five minutes, please. I received the offer just now so I’m in a hurry. Good-bye and thank you.” She hung up.
Immediately, another call from Arya came through. Damien rubbed his temples. No one was giving him a break today.
“Hello, I had called earlier. Winx and I are ready to have lunch with you. Where are you?” Arya asked.
A thought came to Damien. Arya would be coming with Winx.
If he could find a way to make Winx go help Selena and separate her from Arya, then he’d have lunch with Arya alone.
“Ah, yes. I’d come by your university and pick you guys up. Wait for me.” He replied, a smirk tugging at his lips.
