Chapter Forty-Four – It’s over.
The news of Sir Damien of the Wade group of companies being nearly assaulted spread like wild fire the next day.
They were some fluctuations in stocks like always, from some investors who weren’t sure if they should keep working with him since he received death threats every season.
And like always, the news media pushed such news of the celebrity CEO as it always went viral and people always had something to say.
Seth rolled his eyes on seeing it as a headline. “He better come and talk to us about whatever business prospect he has before he’s finally killed.”
He rolled off the bed and sat straight. Turning to his left and seeing Edna naked and laying on the bed with him, he shut his eyes tightly.
It always ended that way. She’d cheat, then apologize. He’d try to refuse her but she’d seduce him and they’d be back together by the next minute.
He was that loose and he hated the fact. And as he’d made the university know of the breakup, it’d be embarrassing if he got back with her again.
Her shenanigans tired him, despite how much he loved her. He didn’t want to look like a fool.
His hands ran through his hair and he left the bed, still being completely naked. There was a knock on the door.
“Room Service.” Someone said from outside.
Edna moved a bit on the bed, rolling on her sides and exposing her bare naked body. Seth sighed and attempted covering her up but remembered that she cheated on him.
“I bet many guys have seen her like this already.”
He took the blanket and wrapped it around himself, heading to the bathroom. “Room service, come in.” he was sure it was a man so he didn’t look before walking into the bathroom.
“What the…” the hotel worker trailed off before hissing.
A snicker left Seth’s lips as he took his bath. He heard the door close afterwards even if he knew the man was still in there. He could care less what happened with Edna.
From that day, they were no longer a thing. He couldn’t let her keep ruling his life whilst whoring around.
His mind was set but his heart still betrayed him yet he shut down all his feelings and downed them in a cool bath.
“I should focus on Sir Damien and securing that deal then I’d help dad get some praise from the president. Girls should be at the back of my head for now.” He mumbled to himself.
Leaving the bath, he reaffirmed those words to himself. Nothing was going to change his mind.
He wrapped a towel around his waist and summoned courage to go back out there and inform Edna that it was truly over.
On opening the door, the hand he had on the towel dropped, nearly exposing his nakedness. His jaw dropped along with the hand. What in the world!
He never saw the hotel worker who walked in but he surely knew the uniform they wore. What was the man doing on top of his girlfriend, who was about to be an ex?
The hotel worker disconnected down from Edna who looked startled as well. “I-I thought you left?” she mumbled.
The hotel worker huffed disrespectfully. “I should have known a man was in here when you said to come in. I thought you were waiting for me as usual.”
As usual? Seth’s head enlarged. So this was his girlfriend’s other man? Or just one of them? He was so disappointed.
He began reasoning, the room they were in was registered under Edna. So it was where she invited her men over.
The hotel worker, seeing her naked, must have assumed she was waiting for him and she readily let him into her as the whore she was. He must have been one of her men as well.
“Well, this just gives me more reason to say it’s over between us! I can’t believe we were even together! You’re disgusting!” Seth yelled.
A streak of anger showed on Edna’s face. “Disgusting?”
She rose from the bed, her breasts shaking.
Seth never took his eyes down there, he folded his arms. “I am not even exchanging words with you, Edna! You’ve toyed with me enough!! It’s over between us!”
His shoulder hit past the hotel worker as he walked out of the room, he turned to the shocked man. “And you, I’d make sure you lose you job!”
There was no need to punish the man but the thoughts that he had been with his girlfriend while knowing she dated someone else annoyed him so much. The disrespect!
He banged the door at the man’s face then walked few steps ahead. Since he had no cloth on, he exhaled, returned to the room and wore his normal clothes then rushed out again.
So many thoughts ran through his mind and for a split moment, he wanted to really inflict pain on Edna. How could he, heir to the Darwin family, be deceived like that!
His fists were tightly clenched and he wanted so badly to hit someone. The nearest wall appeared to his left and he was just about to go for it when someone held his arm back.
“Whoa, easy!” the man who held his arm said.
Seth dropped it, looking stunned. “Sir Damien? Wow. Nice to meet you here, though very unexpected.”
Damien smiled, looking at the hallway he walked out from. “That’s not a VIP room, I’m surprised an important man like you would stay in a regular room.”
“It’s not my room.” Seth replied quickly before biting his lips in regret.
“Oh.” Damien smirked. “I get it. Anyways, nice to meet you too and that wall is pretty tough, don’t hit it.”
Seth found himself smiling.
He had never really met Sir Damien before and assumed he was an arrogant man but he seemed pretty chill and more laid-back than he thought. Also, he was more handsome than the television presenter him.
“Oh, you have a meeting with us by Monday.” Seth reminded as Damien was about leaving.
Damien turned to him and nodded. “Yes, my wife told me. If I can’t make it, I’d let you know. I’m actually here to keep my family in a hotel due to the recent attack in my home.”
Seth nodded understandably. “Good luck with that then. I hope to see you on Monday. And congratulations on your marriage, I didn’t see the media carrying that.”
“They didn’t know.” Damien winked before walking off.
Meanwhile Seth watched him leave. Did he just share a confidential message with him? If the media didn’t know, then the marriage was done in secret?
A smirk rose to Seth’s lips. “This Sir Damien sure is an interesting fellow. I really look forward to his prospect.”
