“What do you mean, Isabel?” Cornelius said and spun Lady Isabel around, surprised at her words.
“You are a deity?” Sir Philippians asked, surprised.
“How’s that possible?” I could have sworn I had a look of disorientation right now.
Her? She was one of the daughters of the Moon Goddess? Was this true? Or was she bluffing? Must I truly believe in it or not?
“You said that you never met your mother.” I glanced at Cornelius from his words. It seemed that he and she were very close. Were they each other’s mates somehow?
“Yes. I never met her. The moment I was born, the Moon Goddess already bestowed me to my father named Isandro Ashdown. My real name is Isabella Ashdown, not Isabel le Conte. My father and I escaped from our former pack, Rising Dawn, to find out who I am. Father told me the truth before he was killed and hunted by our former pack. And that he told me that I must never tell who I really am or else I will put myself in danger,” Lady Isabel explained. Then she turned to me. “I can assure you that I am Her offspring, Your Majesty. My mother grants me the ability to heal. That is why my potions and my antidotes have high potency and efficacy.”
I blinked, not knowing what to say about what she said. I was still skeptical that was one of the daughters of the Moon Goddess. I found it hard to believe it actually.
She must have noticed my hesitation and showed them the dagger that was coated with wolfsbane. She pressed the blade to her skin causing my eyes to widen in shock.
She explained that she was a late bloomer werewolf which suddenly reminded me about Cherish who has also had the same condition as hers. Lady Isabel explained that she hasn’t gone to the wolf stage yet and basically, she was a wolfless person and was still considered an ordinary human. But a few cases that she was showing signs that she was near her wolf form such as the ability to feel the surroundings and possibly, using wolf speed.
We all gasped when she sliced her hand with the dagger and showed us that her hand was bleeding.
“This is proof that I am not lying. I can heal myself in a very short period. My healing process is way faster than the lycans and werewolves.” She sliced her forearm so many times which made my eyes widen in shock. I couldn’t even move that this woman could even dare to hurt herself just to prove that she was the Goddess of Healing and Hunting.
After that, her wound healed. She showed us her other hand she used for wiping her wound and there was no blood smeared in it. She even showed her forearm she sliced earlier and there was no wound she used to slice it. Even blood was nowhere to be found.
That moment, we all gasped at what we witnessed.
“You…” I was rendered speechless.
“Do you believe me now, Your Majesty, Alpha King Claudian?” Lady Isabel asked with a smile. I didn’t answer. She took that as a chance to approach me. “I can heal you and return your facial features that had been burned from that new formula wolfsbane Magnius Lothim created.” I shuddered when she looked at me intently. “But you need to promise me that you will never announce or tell everyone about my existence as one of the daughters of the Moon Goddess.”
“But they must know about it.” I sighed when I got the urge to speak now because of what was happening. “They thought it was just a legend. If they know it, it would no longer be a legend and hearsay anymore. So why do you want to hide?” I asked, bewildered.
“Father said that there are people out there who have an interest in my power and would use me to utilize them in a wrong way. That I don’t need to set a miracle for other people. My father who already sacrificed himself to protect me…” she paused when her voice croaked causing me to almost panic. But she cleared her throat. “That was why I remained a rogue for seventeen years. It was because of my former pack.”
I silenced for a moment before I stroked his chin. Based on how she sounded right now, it seemed that she experienced many hardships which resulted in her being a rogue.
“And if your former pack knew that you have used your powers to set a miracle and they have come to get you to reclaim you in your pack again?”
Her chest rose up and down as if she was panicking right now and didn’t know what she must do. But somehow, she managed to meet my eyes. “If they think that I could forgive them for killing my father…” She held her dagger tightly “I’d rather kill myself,” she said with a sweet smile. “Or if they try to hurt me, I apologize, Your Majesty but I am going to kill them and will think of avenging my father. I don’t care if I will be executed for it.”
I looked at her with a sly smile on his lips. “Of course, as an Alpha King, I am not going to let you kill my subjects, Lady Isabel.”
I almost chuckled because she even dared to mutter those words in front of me. Was she not scared that I am the Alpha King? Or was it because she wasn’t frightened because she had the blood of deity… She was one of the daughters of the Moon Goddess after all.
“I know, Your Majesty. That is why I said that I don’t care if I will be executed after doing it,” she said politely. “In hopes of helping you, Your Majesty, I am hoping for your protection under your name.”
I arched my eyebrow, assessing the situation. “Of course, daughter of the Moon Goddess.” I bowed my head before her. I am bowing because it was a sign of respect that at last, I finally met one of the offsprings of the Moon Goddess. I couldn’t help but think that I am lucky that in my generation, I got to meet one of them. “I still can’t believe that the prophecy will come true and in my generation that I will have to witness it.” I sighed sharply but I smiled. “I promise to keep your secret.” I turned my head to Sir Philippians and Cornelius. “I am hoping for these two gentlemen that what they see and what they hear if you leave, leave it here. If the word spread that Lady Isabel has the blood of deity, I am going to kill you two myself. Are we clear?”
I growled a warning at them. I watched them nodding their heads.
“Your Majesty.”
I turned my head at Lady Isabel. “Yes?”
She bowed her head a little and uttered, “My real name is Isabella Ashdown, not Isabel le Conte.” She smiled brightly. “I am pleased to meet the Alpha King of the Waevalon Kingdom, Claudian Alexander IV.”
