Claude
I wreaked havoc by severely punching Cornelius’ face. I even said that I was blaming Cornelius. It was plausible action for me since if it weren’t for him, I would have known that Rachelle was pregnant with our pup as early as possible.
I could have made a resolution about this. Rachell would have come to the palace safe and sound.
My vision darkened and I didn’t know what I was doing. I let my wolf take over to keep on punching Cornelius which he didn’t partake in to even protect himself. It was as if he was accepting this punishment… until a woman from earlier shouted.
“Your son… Prince Claudian is here!”
Her words were enough for me to calm down. At that moment, I happened to hold my son. I even cried when I held Cloudy’s frail, little body. “Cloudy…” I sobbed my son’s nickname.
Rachelle and I’s first pup… Claudian Alexander V… Prince of Auritaurie.
Rachelle named him from that estate. It suits him. My little son suits to hold that prince title. You are my precious human being, Cloudy… Papa loves you.
“Your Majesty, have you calmed down?”
I darted at Philippians with a glacial stare which made him silent. Then I returned my gaze to Cloudy as I softened my expression, lifting him up in my arms. “We will save your Mommy, Cloudy. Did you miss me? I missed you, too.” With what I said, Cloudy giggled causing me to smile.
I was irked a little because the wound on the half of my face was pulsating and stretching when I smiled.
Cloudy’s giggle suddenly lifted up my mood. “I’m glad that my son is safe, Philippians.” I couldn’t help planting a soft kiss on my son’s forehead which giggled at him again.
“Yes, Your Majesty. Commander Cornelius brought him here in this safe place. Lady Isabel helped him so Prince Claudian would survive.”
“Lady Isabel?” I arched my eyebrow. I knew that I had heard her name when Philippians told me about my son’s whereabouts. I turned my head to that woman who was wiping Cornelius’ face. “Is that you, woman?” I scrutinized him up and down.
She nervously stood up and curtsied before me after nodding. “Y-Yes. I am Isabel le Conte, Your Majesty,” she said politely.
“Are you that man’s acquaintance?” I asked bitterly when I glanced at Cornelius.
“Yes, Alpha King.”
“And the one who took care of my son when he was having a high fever?”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
“I see…” Nodding, the hostile tone from mine was gradually dissipating upon hearing what this woman named Isabel le Conte said. I carefully handed my little Claude to Philippians for a moment before I deeply bowed my head. “I am in deep gratitude for taking care of my son, Lady Isabel le Conte.”
“Y-Your Majesty, t-there’s no need for you to lower your head…” I could hear how she was panicking from my actions.
I just wanted to show how she took care of my son when Cloudy had a high fever. Rachelle would kill me if something happens to our son. I would never forgive myself if she gets angry with me. Rachelle was frightened when she got mad. I wouldn’t even dare to dwell with her.
“It’s fine. I am only grateful that you helped my son, Lady Isabel. Unlike that son of a bitch right there,” I paused and glared over her shoulder. “I would never forgive him even if Rachelle tells me that man is just following her orders.” I growled. “Rachelle will not be kidnapped if he only told me that she was conceiving our pup two months ago.”
“Please spare him, Your Majesty,” she pleaded. “If it weren’t with him, I wouldn’t be able to save His Highness, Prince Claudian. He only thought that I could save the prince. Besides, the Luna Queen ordered him to bring Prince Claudian to somewhere safe,” I explained.
She was the one who explained what Rachelle did and ordered Cornelius. I watched as she knew all of this information which was obvious that something was going on between them. I have no interest in listening to it since Lady Isabel saved my son’s life.
After that, I made a decision and gazed at Cornelius. “Rejoice for I will spare your life, Commander Cornelius. If you are not my mate’s one of the most trusted people, I would have killed you in a blink of an eye.” I scoffed. “I don’t want to make a dispute with your Luna Queen once we save her. She’s way scarier when she gets mad at me.” I squinted his eyes and pushed Cornelius on his forehead. “Consider yourself lucky. Next time, I will strip your title and take away your pack,” I warned. “Are we clear?”
Cornelius nodded. “Yes, Your Majesty. Understood,” he said politely.
With that, I returned my attention back to my son and took Cloudy from Philippians’ arms. I focused my attention on Cloudy and rained him some kisses which I usually saw from Rachelle.
“Your Majesty, Lady Isabel is the one I am talking about who will help you get healed from your injury.”
I gasped softly, looking at Lady Isabel. “She is?” I blinked.
I almost wanted to hit myself for acting so ignorant. I knew that I already heard her name, however, I intentionally forgot it because I thought that Lady Isabel was just a nobody when Philippians said this back in the palace. But she has my respect since she happened to be the one who treated my son.
To discuss that matter, we went inside her… dilapidated home? I almost questioned how on earth my son was living here for days in this kind of environment but when I saw the new cradle in the corner, I was at ease upon seeing it.
I remembered that Philippians said that he was the one who bought the items needed by Cloudy so I was relieved now.
We started discussing the effective antidote she had but when I tried it, it was the same thing as the palace doctors made. It wasn’t effective but I did feel the wound throbbing in pain.
“It was different… But it seems less effective just like the ones I took before…” I groaned in pain.
“That’s weird…” Lady Isabel held her chin, thinking deeply.
“The liquid they used was the same as the ones that injured my soldiers right now, Your Majesty.”
I stirred a commotion when Cornelius dared to speak which almost made my blood boil. He even dared to speak back.
“Your Majesty, please calm down.” Philippians separated me from Cornelius when I was about to punch that annoying man.
“I must head back now to the palace and coordinate with others. I don’t care if my face would remain like this forever. I need to save Rachelle as soon as possible!” I struggled at Philippians’ hold. “Philippians, unhand me!” I ordered, growling a warning.
“It’ll be dangerous if that won’t heal, Your Majesty, Alpha King Claudian,” Lady Isabel said, panicking.
“If your antidote won’t work, then it is no use for me and my son to stay here.”
“Y-You’ll be blinded by one eye. If you will stay here for some days, I can find an-”
“I don’t need it!” I snapped back. I wanted to get Cloudy from his cradle so we could get back to the palace but Lady Isabel dared to stop me. “You seemed like you didn’t know who you were pushing, Lady Isabel.” I clenched my hands.
The nerve of this woman to even dare to push me off so I couldn’t approach my son. She must have forgotten who she was pushing, huh? If she does it again, I swear, I am going to hurt her by hook or by crook.
“I said that I still have another way. Please hear me out,” she begged.
As my patience was thin and the time was ticking out, I couldn’t help holding Lady Isabel’s neck. I even warned Philippians and Cornelius who were about to lunge at me to stop me.
But I didn’t expect Lady Isabel’s movement as she placed the blade of the dagger to my hand. I hissed and stepped back, surprised that she managed to surprise me with that kind of attack.
“I am very sure you heard about the prophecy about the spirit goddesses, Your Majesty,” Lady Isabel said.
I creased my forehead. “How did you know about that?” She didn’t say anything. I took strides towards her. “No outsider knows about that. How did you know about the prophecy?” I got impatient when she didn’t answer. “Answer me!”
Lady Isabel smiled. Her smile meant that she knew everything about it. But for me, that seemed alarming since no outsider, except the divine priest, knew about the prophecy. How did she know about it?
“Because my father, who is a pack doctor and a pack warrior, told me about it,” she started. I had a look that I wasn’t convinced with her answer. “According to the prophecy that has been passed down to the royal lycan family, spirit goddesses are offspring of the Moon Goddess. Isn’t that right, Your Majesty? You knew this. And I know it.”
“I am very sure that only the bloodline of lycan that started from my great grandfather can only know these details. No outsider, like your father, can ever know about it.” I was close to silent her. There was no way her father would find that out. It was truly impossible. “Unless the Moon Goddess has told him about it.”
She stared directly into my eyes. “And if I tell you that you are right about it? Would you believe me, Your Majesty?”
“What do you mean?” I grabbed her arm, eager to know how on earth her father and her knew about the prophecy that had been held secret for years. “He talked to the Moon Goddess?”
I flinched when Lady Isabel was out of my hold only to realize that Cornelius snatched her away from me. “My apologies, Your Majesty but I cannot allow you to hurt her.” There was a warning tone in his voice.
“How dare…” I just scoffed and let it, grinning before I turned my attention to her. “Tell me,” I commanded in my icy tone. “Why did the Moon Goddess ever tell him about it?”
At that moment, the whole surrounding was enveloped with silence. This kind of anticipation was killing me as I was so eager to know this. I was thinking if she answered me wrongly, I would immediately silence her.
This was not the right time to know by everyone about the birth of the spirit goddesses in this world.
“Because I am one of the daughters of the Moon Goddess. I am Iseldis, the goddess of healing and hunting and the second daughter of the Moon Goddess.”
My eyes widened as I gasped when she spoke the words that made me shocked. “What?!”
