Claude
“What agreement? Tell me, Father,” I urged him.
He smiled. “Don’t worry, son. Time will tell when you two will know how special both of you are.”
That made my blood boil. That reason again?! “Can you not just tell me what Mother had an agreement with the Moon Goddess?! Why is Rachelle involved here? Why are we connected from the very start, Father?!” I asked, feeling like I wanted to explode more but my wounds were the hindrance for doing that.
Father sipped on his tea and looked at me with his serene smile. “I cannot just tell it. The Moon Goddess has a plan which I must not dare to ruin it.”
I couldn’t help clenching my hands. “You… You are not helping at all, Father!” I raised my voice. “Why does She always associate with you? It is unfair that I am the Alpha King yet She is not telling me everything!”
He chuckled. “She will be soon. Now is not the right time.”
“Then when is it?” I asked impatiently. Father shrugged his shoulders. That was making me annoyed each second Father would answer me with a shrug. It was insulting on my part. I just want to know what the agreement Mother and the Moon Goddess had but it seemed I couldn’t even find the answer. Sighing, I glanced at him. “Say, is the Moon Goddess’s plan involved that Rachelle must get pregnant while in the war? Is that the reason why She told Rachelle that we must do the mating ritual?”
“Indeed.” He exhaled sharply. “Everything is according to her plan. Even this moment that you shall speak with me and try to convince me to tell Beatrice and the Moon Goddess’s agreement.” He returned his attention to me. “You will know it soon, son. By now, Rachelle will start to learn who she is.”
“What do you mean?” Learn who she was?
Father placed his teacup on the saucer. “By the way, She informed me to tell you to go to the Meadow Forest as soon as possible to see my grandson.”
I gasped as my eyes widened. “H-How did you know where Cloudy is?” My heart started to pound but then Father bestowed me a look that he had given the hint already. I hissed softly and nodded.
He mentioned Her. He mentioned the Moon Goddess.
“I must go now,” I said, not wanting to prolong the conversation and must do what the Moon Goddess said.
“Also, one more thing, Claude.” I halted but didn’t turn around. “Rachelle is born to sacrifice herself in order to protect you. You are bound to be protected by her after all.”
“Is that Mother and the Moon Goddess’s agreement?” I asked, growling. I turned my head at Father who didn’t answer. I gritted my teeth in annoyance as he always left me wondering with his words. “Did the Moon Goddess tell Mother that I would be killed? Is that the reason why Rachelle is born? I was also born to be protected by my mate, not the other way around?”
“Clock is ticking, Claude. Do not waste time and go and see my grandson. I am certain he is longing for his parents already,” he said, diverting my question.
I was close to ruining the Peruvian lily garden but this was my Mother’s favorite flower. However, this was getting me frustrated each second I would stay here.
I am sorry, Mother. Do forgive me for being so discourteous in your garden.
Just as Father said, I started to make a meeting with the royal court and the military court. The royal court involved many nobles that needed to share their opinions and help me implement a new royal ordinance by implementing a royal decree.
I told them what my next agenda was and that I would be gone for several days. I even summoned Cassandra to fulfill her duty as the Crown Princess. She would be the one who would deal with the state affairs while I was away. Along with my brother-in-law, Storm, who was still mad at me for putting Rachelle in a sanction, he was going to be with my sister.
“Make sure you get my sister back. And my nephew as well, Claude…” Storm said through gritted teeth. I didn’t falter when he grabbed my collar. “Even though Rachelle and I are not blood-related, I have treated her like my sister. So, do not even think of hurting my sister anymore. She already sacrificed enough…” He growled to intimidate me.
Sighing, I nodded. “I will bring her back, brother-in-law. Fret not,” I said calmly.
I do not wish to collide with my brother-in-law. He was also at the peak of distress just like me because he was so worried for his sister. I would too. I would also act the same thing to Storm if something happens to Cassey.
“Storm, release Claude now. Please…” Cassey pleaded and tapped Storm’s shoulder.
Storm softened and nodded. But before he released me, he threatened me. “I am going to kill you if you bring the cold body of my sister. I do not care if you are the Alpha King. Rachelle is my last remaining relative, you bastard.” He pushed me back before his eyes were shedding tears.
“Storm…” Casey hugged him.
I lowered my head, wanting to break down as well. Storm cherished her so much because they grew up together. Storm was the one who stood up against the statements for Rachelle when she was entering the military. It was unacceptable that a woman was allowed to join back then.
But due to Storm’s persistence and Father’s fondness for Rachelle, Rachelle managed to be the first female who entered the military and managed to earn merits to be promoted to Captain, Commander, and lastly, General.
Even if Rachelle was slacking off in dealing paperwork and experienced imposing sanctions of defying the orders of the higher-ups, she still became the General.
She became my Luna Queen even though she never wanted it.
Philippians and I disembarked to go to the Ursupol as soon as I managed to set everything. I need to see my son now. I felt like I was losing my strength if I wasn’t seeing him.
I wonder if Cloudy misses us already. I want to hold him and show him how much I cherish him. And that he was made out of love from his parents.
We will meet again, my son. Papa is here to be with you. I will also save your Mommy.
As soon as we arrived at the Ursupol, I barked and mind-linked at Philippians to show me the way while ignoring the shocks and stares from my subjects who were surprised to see that their Alpha King was on his wolf form and was in the Ursupol. I focused on following Philippians’ black wolf.
‘Your Majesty, the moment we dive deeper into the forest, we will be able to see a hut. That is where Lady Isabel lives.’
I nodded my head as I sprinted, couldn’t wait to see my son. When I came to see the hut Philippians was talking about, my nose was flaring upon seeing Cornelius. Also, I saw that he was protecting somebody. I creased my forehead seeing a woman who was holding a dagger. Like it was as if she was ready to protect Cornelius even though Cornelius was shielding her.
Even so, my blood was boiling when it reminded me about Cornelius and his stupidity before.
I stayed for a moment before I watched them kneeling before me as I took strides in their direction. I transformed back into my human form and halted in front of them while remaining my stoic expression.
“Rise,” I commanded in my icy tone.
I watched them standing up while my eye was transfixed to Cornelius. Every second I would see him was making my blood boil. As I couldn’t take it anymore, I immediately grabbed Cornelius’s collar and pulled him towards me.
“You scumbag! You dare to show your face in front of me?!”
