Chapter 62

Book:Ex-wife, Long Time No See Published:2024-6-2

Shen Qieyi coldly shuddered Mo Yirou off and pulled Lin Zhi with her. She bumped fiercely into Mo Yirou’s shoulder to leave.
The surrounding audience pricked their ears and paid attention to the commotion. They were surprised at Shen Qieyi’s unusual sarcastic comment.
Mo Yirou used the fact that Shen Qieyi was a divorcee to strike her ruthfully.
Both of them had become enemies because of a man.
As the audience nearby was immersed in the dramatic commotion, both leads end their dispute.
Mo Yirou followed suit to leave as Shen Qieyi left, grabbing Lin Zhi with her.
Mo Yirou walked briskly away from the dining hall toward a deserted corner.
Mo Yirou swiftly grabbed her phone to look for Fu Yao’s contact.
She selected his name among the contact list and dialed the number without hesitation.
The dialing sound rang on continuously.
Mo Yirou placed her hand on her chest to calm her racing heart as she smiled.
After a while, a hoarse male voice came in just as Mi Yirou was about to move the phone away disappointingly.
She was excited beyond words.
Conversely, Fu Yao picked up the unfamiliar caller ID and kept silent.
“Fu Yao, It’s me. Do you remember?” Mo Yirou uttered cautiously.
Fu Yao flipped through his documents while he furrowed his brow impatiently, thinking about this unfamiliar voice on the line.
“Who is this?”
The question took Mo Yirou by surprise. She bit her lower lips to calm herself, then smilingly responded with a charming tone, “This is Mo Yirou. We met when I accidentally knocked into your car before…”
There were silenced on the other end.
Fu Yao remembered such a person but had long forgotten what she looked like. He remembered that she had come to his office and created such a scene when she begged him there and then.
His silence made her anxious. Mo Yirou eagerly clarified, “It’s me! I’m Shen Qieyi’s colleague. She must have mentioned me to you.”
Mo Yirou hastily tried to jog his memory by mentioning Shen Qieyi, unaware she had made herself seem foolish.
Hearing Shen Qieyi’s name being mentioned, Fu Yao paused.
With a tightened brow, he thought of that night when he argued fiercely with Shen Qieyi in Fu Residence.
At that time, Shen Qieyi mocked him for his promiscuity. Saying that he was promiscuous beyond belief to the extent he was unselectively towards any woman, including his coworkers.
Back then, Fu Yao was puzzled by the statement and refused to admit the accusation.
Only now did he understand that Shen Qieyi must have misunderstood him.
Thinking that he had fallen into this random woman’s trap, Fu Yao’s eyes turned cold.
“Fu Yao, I still miss you. Can we meet? We should talk. I…” Mo Yirou tried to lure him out and planned to captivate him with all her might.
Fu Yao broke off the conversation with a sarcastic laugh, “Miss Mo, you must be joking.”
He hated such a wicked person with a cunning mind. He worded his conversation mercilessly.
“Who do you think you are? Get lost!” Fu Yao hung up the phone without giving Mo Yirou a chance to refute.
Mo Yirou stood there, stunned by what had happened. With the phone still beeping by her ear, she felt as if she had been slapped hard.
Passersby continued to whisper about her relentlessly in the dining hall after Mo Yirou had left.
The news of Mo Yirou’s despicable action had spread widely in the hospital like wildfire.
As people consecutively left the dining hall, they saw in the distance Mo Yirou crying with hands covering her face. They walked on while criticizing her.
Mo Yirou that pretended to be innocent and sweet all this while, had to face her consequences now. She had been using her naive outlook to cause her best friend’s divorce. Nobody pitied her.
Mo Yirou was horrified and did not know what she should do now.
Meanwhile, Shen Qieyi, who was waiting for Lin Zhi to change into fresh clothes, was oblivious that her commotion with Mo Yirou moments earlier had become the talk of the town.
Shen Qieyi felt guilty and was thinking about how she should apologize.
She knew that Mo Yirou had held a grudge against her for a long time. Even at work, she felt Mo Yirou’s oppressive behavior towards her.
Shen Qieyi had endured this situation for a long time.
Shen Qieyi had never thought of a day that all her grudges would break loose and create such a scene in front of everyone.
Lin Zhi walked out after changing the soiled clothes and holding them. Shen Qieyi saw her and walked up to join her.
“How is it? Were you scalded?” she asked worryingly.
Looking at Shen Qieyi, Lin Zhi gave her a warm smile saying, “Don’t worry. It was only some warm water. I wasn’t hurt, just a little shocked.”
Shen Qieyi felt sympathetic. She took Lin Zhi’s hand and sincerely apologized to her, “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to get you involved.
Lin Zhi squeezed her hand gently and said, “Don’t be. It’s never your fault. She was rude first.”
Looking at Lin Zhi’s unwavering stare, Shen Qieyi gave a bitter smile. “Isn’t it tough being my friend? I kept dragging you into trouble.”
Lin Zhi right away retorted, “No, that’s ridiculous. I’ve never thought of it that way.”
Shen Qieyi let out a sigh of relief and smiled.”Thank you.”
Lin Zhi continued to comfort her. “Shen Qieyi, you’ve always been a trustworthy person.”
Shen Qieyi was stunned by what she said.
Lin Zhi noticed that Shen Qieyi didn’t look well. She hesitated but braved herself to ask anyway, “Shen Qieyi, I feel awful that you were divorced. Are…are you ok?”
Lin Zhi regretted it right after she said it. She felt she might have worded it wrong and caused Shen Qieyi to misunderstand her, thinking that she only cared about the gossip of it. Lin Zhi was actually worried about her well-being.
Shen Qieyi hooked her elbows to Lin Zhi’s and walked with her. Her expression showed honesty and calm. “I’ve never thought of letting everyone know about it. I know that you care about me and worry about me. But I’m fine now. Really.”
The freedom of living alone is a comfort and joy she never had.
She was no longer obliged to accommodate anyone or anything other than herself anymore. She could live freely and independently by her means. Everything seems to work out for the best.

Fu Yao was bothered by the call from Mo Yirou today.
Zhong Han had been calling Fu Yao nonstop for a few days now. However, Fu Yao never accepted any of his calls.
This caused Zhong Han to get frustrated and deliberately held back from work to visit Fu Group. Zhong Han intended to meet him personally.
He used to visit so frequently that he’s now well-known among the staff. Hence, Zhon Han practically went straight up to the top floor.
There, Zhong Han greeted the assistant, poked his head around the door, and knocked.
Fu Yao replied with a deep hum as he continued to bury himself in work.
Zhong Han saw him being solemn and lightly coughed to get his attention.
Fu Yao glanced up for a second, then lowered his head to where it was as if nothing had happened.
“Huh?” Zhong Han felt ignored entirely and relentlessly cursed this cold-hearted man in his mind.
He looked around the living room and relaxed for a bit. When he noticed Fu Yao didn’t look like stopping his work at all, he felt bored. He walked around Fu Yao silently into the lounge behind him.
Fu Yao had an extremely high standard of preference. He would ensure every leisure area of his would have the best decoration and equipment.
At a glance, this huge lounge was well-equipped with everything available.
Initially, this was Zhong Han’s favorite spot to enjoy the majestic view. However, when he thought of Fu Yao as the one sitting here enjoying it all, he couldn’t help to feel that it was all a big waste.
He began to visit here more frequently. As time passed, he felt bored and began moving in all the weird games or equipment for entertainment.
Fu Yao began to lose patience with Zhong Han’s frequent nuisance. He then exasperatedly deprived Zhong Han of his favorite spot.
Zhong Han wasn’t happy with it but promised Fu Yao he would come less frequently. At the same time, he begged Fu Yao to keep his beloved games and equipment there.
