With tears welling in her eyes as she stared at him, she spoke. “Da… Daniel, you’re joking, right? This is just a joke. I’m Kathryn; you told me that I should seduce you, and along the way, we fell in love. Daniel, tell me this is some sort of joke. Please tell me you’re playing a prank on me.” She told him as she cried, and he shook his head as he stared at her.
“Do I look like someone who has the time to play pranks?” He asked her as he held on to his head, wincing in pain. “Ah!” He groaned, and she immediately grabbed a cup of water as she handed it to him.
“Daniel, take this.” She told him as she tried to help him to it, but then he pushed her hand away, causing the glass to fall out of her hands as he started to struggle to sit up.
“It hurts! My head!” He cried out in pain as he sat up, moving his head as he closed his eyes.
She held on to the sheets; he was in so much pain, and she could see it in his eyes. Was this a prank, or did he already find out the truth and still want to hear it from her mouth?
That could be it; it could be the only reason he was acting this way with her. She sighed, closing her eyes as she opened them back, trying to build the confidence she thought she had to tell him the truth.
“Daniel.” She started. She pressed her lips tightly as more tears streamed down her cheeks. She was becoming scared; she didn’t think she had the courage to tell him the truth anymore, and it hurt her badly.
“What are you doing here? Get the hell out of this room; I don’t know, and you’re causing my head to ache even more.” He told her as he pushed her, causing her to fall to the ground as she cried out in pain.
She stared at him. What had gotten over him? Why was he suddenly acting this way with her? Wasn’t he the same man who would always want to know how she got hurt? Wasn’t he the same man who would want to punish whoever even laid a finger on a woman? What happened now? How could he push her like that, especially when he saw how much pain she was in?
She gulped; this wasn’t going to stop her. She had coke here to get to be with Daniel, and it didn’t matter how hard he tried to push her away; she would never give up. He was the man she loved, and she would never let this get in the way of that.
She wiped her tears as she went to her knees. “Daniel, listen to me, I.” Before she could even finish speaking, he cut her off with the most heartbreaking words ever.
“I don’t know you, and as such, it’s not Daniel to you. It’s Mr. Lopez.” He told her, and the moment he said those words to her, she fell back in shock as she stared at him.
Mr Lopez? She swallowed as she stared at him. Had it gotten that bad? Could it actually be that he was telling the truth when he said he didn’t know who she was? Daniel would never say that to her; he would never ask her to call him by his last name.
She could recall how it used to hurt him whenever she called him by his last name, so what changed now? Why was he suddenly requesting that she call him by the same name that used to annoy him?
“You’re joking, right? Daniel, you hated it when I called you by your last name, so how can you ask me to address you as that now? You’re just trying to be funny, Daniel, and trust me, instead of making me laugh, it’s only making me more scared. What happened to you? Tell me!” She asked him as she stared at him, more tears streaming down her cheeks, but he rolled his eyes.
“Stop being a drama queen and get out of this place now.” He told her, and her eyes widened in shock as she stared at him.
How did he know about that? Drama queen? He used to call her that too: “Please, you know me; we’re best friends; we even…” Before she could even finish speaking, Ella walked into the room as she pushed Kathryn away from Daniel, and the moment Daniel saw her, he heaved a sigh of relief.
“I was wondering where we went the whole time. Who is this lunatic, and what is she doing here?” He asked her, and Kathryn’s heart broke into a million pieces when she heard that question from him.
“Lunatic? Daniel, I am your love; you love me, so why are you saying these things to me?” She asked him as more tears streamed down her cheeks, but it didn’t help.
“I don’t know you, and I don’t remember having any feelings for you. If there is anyone I love, it’s her. Ella. She is the woman I love, and she is even my girlfriend. What are you saying?” He asked her, and Ella smiled as she handed him some drugs.
“Don’t worry about that, love. Have this; it’ll help you calm down.” She told him, and Daniel, trusting her so blindly, took it from her as he drank it.
The moment he drank it, his eyes started to close slowly, and she smiled as she helped him lie down slowly. “I’m the one you love, Daniel. There’s nothing to worry about.” She told him, and after a few seconds, he fell asleep.
She turned to Kathryn immediately as she dragged her out of the room. “I told you he didn’t know you, didn’t I?” She asked her with a mocking smile on her face as she locked the door behind her.
“This is a joke; he is joking; this is a…” Before she could finish her statement, Ella interrupted her.
“Hypnosis? Yes, it is hypnosis. I have had the love of your life undergo certain procedures that’ll make him mine, and now his brain has become so damaged that he thinks that I’m his love.” She said that, and the moment she said that, Kathryn raised her hand to slap her, but then Ella caught it.
“You’re a monster!” She yelled, and Ella chuckled.
“That’s not what he thinks, honey, and trust me, until he is mine completely, I won’t stop.”
