“Leave now! Go away!” He yelled at her, and she stared at him, shocked.
What suddenly happened to him? Why was he suddenly this way?
“Sir, I…” Before she could even say any more words, he started to knock everything close to him off.
He yelled as he started to turn the room into a mess, and she stared at him, fear running through her. What was wrong with him? Why was he suddenly acting this way?
“Kathryn!” He yelled as he continued to try to get the IV drip off, but he was too weak to do so. He continued to shake his legs, and after some time, he started to gasp for air.
He shook his legs, and she stepped back in shock. His actions scared her; he was acting so strangely. Like someone who was being possessed, his eyes kept going open and closed while his legs and hands kept moving like he was trying to get away from something.
She held on to her clothes as she swallowed in fear. All that was left was for the lights to start flickering, and if that happened, she would be sure that he had been possessed.
“Sir, are you alright?” She asked in fear as he continued to act like that, and she looked around.
She rushed as she picked up the jug of water, pouring some of it for him, and just as she handed it over to him, he knocked it over, and the moment the glass shattered to the floor, it alarmed the officers and the doctor who happened to be outside.
“Get Kathryn!” He screamed as his eyes started to close.
She stared at him, confused. “Sir, what is happening to you?” She asked, and just as he was about to speak, the doctor rushed in and stared at her, shocked.
“Who are you, and what are you doing here?” He asked as he rushed to get a sedative.
“I am.” She couldn’t even speak; the words just couldn’t get out because she had lied to the nurse that she was Kathryn.
So she wouldn’t draw any more attention to her lies, she rushed out of the ward. She had to leave; what if she got arrested because they thought she might have done harm to him?
No, she couldn’t let that happen. She turned, and just as she was about to leave the premises, the officers noticed her.
“Excuse me!” One of the officers called after her, and the moment he did that, she froze on the spot.
He walked up to her as he raised her head so she could stare at him. “Tell me, madam. What are you doing here?” He asked her, and she gulped as she stared at him.
“I was here with my boss. He is actually in the hospital. He isn’t doing well, and I came to check up on him.” She said it in fear, and the officer stared at her.
“Tell me, what’s your name?” He asked her, and she closed her eyes.
“Martha Go….” Before she could even complete her name, the nurse who had let her in walked up to her.
“Didn’t you say your name was Kathryn?” She asked, and at that moment, her eyes widened in shock. What could that nurse be doing there?
She chuckled nervously as she turned to the nurse. “Well, I lied, and I’m so sorry. I couldn’t help it. I just wanted to see him, and he was sure he was fine.” She said that, and the doctor walked out.
“Well, that was a bad thing to do because now he has gotten worse.” He said it and scoffed, and she held on to her chest in fear.
The officer stared at her. “I’m sorry, miss. You’re going to come with us.” The officer said this, and her eyes widened.
“But I haven’t done anything. I just wanted to see if he was fine.” She tried to defend herself, but then he rolled his eyes.
“Don’t worry, madam, we’re just going to be asking you a few questions. You’re not getting locked up.” He told her, and with that, he took her away.
The nurse rolled her eyes. “If she isn’t Kathryn, then who is, and why did he keep calling her name?” She asked herself as she rolled her eyes. “These rich people and their complicated lives”
In a few hours, Daniel got even better. He managed to get a lot of rest, but then being in the hospital only caused him to get even worse. Not that the nurses weren’t doing their jobs well, but the fact that in all those hours, Kathryn didn’t even come to check up on him or check how he was faring caused his heart to shatter, and he had to ask the doctor for a discharge.
The doctor could see that he really wanted him, and after agreeing to come back the next day for a checkup, he decided to let him go. He ran a few tests on him, and when he was sure his head was in better condition, he let him go home.
He sighed as he walked into the house. It was dark as usual, and this only meant no one was at home. He clenched his fists. She must have been having a good time with her lover because she didn’t even bother to come check up on him and was still not back home.
He sighed as he made for his room, but just as he walked past the terrace, he started hearing strange sounds. He stopped and listened to them well, and that was when he managed to decipher what they were.
Those weren’t strange sounds; they were crying sounds.
He slowly opened the door to the terrace, and there he found her, folding herself together, and she wasn’t with any man; she was all by herself, in tears.
His heart broke into a billion pieces seeing her this way, and he clenched his fists. So what if she hadn’t been there with him at the hospital?
He couldn’t bear to see her this way, as it broke his heart. He sighed as he walked to her, and just then, he turned her to face him.
The moment she stared into his eyes, she broke into more tears as she pulled him in for an embrace, and his eyes widened in shock.
Was she really hugging him?
