“Please, officer, just let me be sure he is fine. I beg of you.” She pleaded as she was pushed into the cell.
After pushing her in, the female officer scoffed. “It was a reflex action? The maid saw you; he was only trying to talk to you, and next thing we know, you’ve pushed him off. The man is in a critical condition; just pray he is fine.” She said that, and with that, her eyes widened.
The officer said some words to her, ones that hurt her a lot, but at that moment, they didn’t really matter to her. All that mattered to her at that moment was his safety, and the fact that she wasn’t there with him at that moment when he was in such a critical condition made her even more worried.
She sat on the floor as she held her hair up, more tears streaming down her cheeks. “Oh, Daniel. If only you knew I was doing this for you. I just want you to know that I would never hurt you like this, not ever.” She spoke, and with that, she rested her head against the wall.
She sat there, but all the time she sat there, she was restless. She got up as she rushed to draw the attention of the officer beside her. “Officer, please, I need your help.” She told him, and he stared at her.
“What do you need my help with?” He asked her, and she swallowed.
“Daniel Lopez. His life is in danger; please help me send some men to watch over him. I would never forgive myself if something bad were to happen to him.” She told him, and he rolled his eyes.
“We’re not that free, and why should I believe you? Weren’t you the one who hurt him in the first place? Don’t bother me; I’ve got a lot of work to do.” He told her, and with that, he walked away.
The moment he walked away, tears streamed down her cheeks as she rested her back against the wall. She closed her eyes as memories from the past days hit her.
“You’re becoming soft, and trust me, I hate that. You won’t be of any use anymore if you can’t hurt me, and for that, it means I’ll have to do this myself.” A certain voice rang in her head, and she clenched her fists.
“Please, don’t do this to him; I beg of you. He is a very good person.” She had pleaded with the man, but he wouldn’t have any of it; he had no intention of listening to her.
“If you won’t do what we have asked you to do, then trust me, we’ll have to get rid of him our way.” He had told her, and the moment she recalled those words, her eyes that had been closed opened, and she turned to the officers.
“Daniel!” She called as she shook the gates of the cell. “He is in danger; I’ve got to save him.” She spoke as more tears streamed down her cheeks.
She wiped her tears as she continued to shake the gates. All that she had been doing in the last few days was because of him. She had been hurting him on purpose this whole time just so she could save him, but at this moment, she was starting to regret it.
She wiped her tears, and just as she turned, she found someone standing behind her, and she stepped back in shock.
He was a very tall man with a huge figure. He didn’t look scary; as a matter of fact, he looked very charming. He chuckled as he stared at her. “Look who’s behind bars.”
He spoke, and she stared at the officer beside him.
“Tell me, what’s he doing here? Take him away.” She screamed as she stepped back in fear, and he chuckled.
“I won’t be going anywhere, Kathryn. Not without you at least.” He told her, and she shook her head in fear.
“No, I won’t be going anywhere with you. I don’t want to talk to him, officer. Please, take him away.” She told him as she held on tight to her dress, and the officer rolled her eyes.
“You should be grateful to him; he has gotten you bailed out. Come on, let’s go.” The officer told her, and she shook her head.
“Bailed? By him? No way, I don’t want to leave this place; please leave me here.” She begged, and the officer scoffed as she opened the gate, but Kathryn wasn’t stepping out.
“Come on, Katheyn, let’s go.” He told her, and she shook her head as she stared at the officer.
“I pushed Daniel off the railing; I have to be punished for it. Please tell them I don’t want to leave. I’m fine here.” She said as she stepped back in more fear, and the officer rolled her eyes.
“You’re a very strange human being, I have got to admit. Earlier, you were whining about how innocent you have been. You were begging, saying you wanted to be with him, and now someone has actually gotten you bail and you don’t want to leave? Isn’t that strange?” She asked, and Kathryn just continued to shake her head in fear.
“I don’t want to leave, please. Leave me here.” She pleaded in tears, but the officer sighed as she walked in, dragging Kathryn by the arm.
“This isn’t some sort of hotel where you decide whether you want to stay or leave. This is prison; you don’t decide.” She said that, and with that, she locked the cell.
Kathryn stood in front of the man, shaking her head as tears streamed down her cheeks. “Please, he is not doing well; let me stay with him.” She begged him, and all he did was give her a light chuckle.
“Move.” He told her, and with that, they walked out of the prison building.
The moment they got out, she swallowed. She had to get out of here at all costs.
Just as she made to run, he dragged her back to himself, and before she could even speak, he drove an injection into her neck, and she gasped. It was an immediate effect, and before she knew it, she lost consciousness.
