“Are you sure you didn’t see anything like her face? Just anything would do.” Daniel asked the man who held on to his bead.
It was obvious that the man was telling the truth. He was trying so hard to recall if he had seen anything about the woman but he hadn’t. His head was aching too much to do so.
“I’m so sorry, boss. It’s blank. I can’t seem to recall anything.” He said and Daniel clenched his fists.
“It’s fine, don’t worry. I’ll find out the person responsible for this. I’ll make sure that the woman pays very dearly for it.” He decided and with that, clenched his fists.
He loved Kathryn, and she didn’t even know yet she was taking undue advantage of his kindness. He couldn’t let her continue this way, it was way too annoying. She had being doing things that made him suspicious of her lately and now; she had gone as far as releasing the man who had strictly forbidden her from even seeing.
He would make her pay for this, at all costs.
He rushed out of the building and got into his car. He started to drive, ignoring all the red lights. He was so annoyed, how could she even think of doing something like this? He would never forgive her for it, not at all.
He was going to punish her for doing this, not even the love he had for her would stop him from doing so.
He got out of his car in a fit of rage as he walked into the house. “Kathryn!” He yelled as he walked into the house. “Kathryn! Where are you?” He asked, angrily as he continued to look around the house.
He clenched his fists in anger, what did she think of herself? After calling her numerous times and she didn’t even answer him, he came to a conclusion that she had gone out:
He clenched his fists as he went to the couch, crashing into it as he stared at the door. What could she be up to? Why couldn’t she trust him with these things?
He clenched his fists, whether she could trust him or not was her business. He knew he was going to punish her for what she had just done and nothing was going to change that.
After staying in the sitting room for a long time and she showed no signs of returning home, he placed a call across to her and was surprised to hear her phone ring. She was in the house.
He got out of the couch as he rushed upstairs, and there she was, in the terrace. She had being home the whole time, and he didn’t know.
He clenched his fists and just as ge walked towards her to scold her for what he thought she had done, he noticed something. She was lost in thought. Her phone had being ringing beside her and she didn’t even know.
She wasn’t asleep, she was just staring at the skies and he clenched his fists, what could he going on with her? This wasn’t the woman he fell in love with, she had changed completely.
Has she even being lying down, one would think she had died because of how motionless she stood. He dialed her number again, hoping it would help her in realizing someone was behind her but then she didn’t even turn for a moment to have a look at her phone despite it blaring so loudly.
“Kathryn!” He called as he started to move closer to her.
He called her name but she still didn’t respond and now, he was even more worried about her. “Kathryn!” He called her again, but she didn’t answer him.
He wasn’t even sure she was breathing because with the way she stood, one would tell that she was really disturbed. She wasn’t even doing well at all.
He still felt betrayed hy her leading the man away but now that he has seen her, and the condition she was in, he didn’t think she was the one who did it. He was now worried about her, she was going through a lot and even though she wasn’t the type to show it, it was obvious that she was at her breaking point and it was taking a huge toll on her.
He closed his eyes, taking a deep inhale as he placed his hands in her shoulder. The moment he placed his hands on her shoulder, she flinched.
She looked so scared as she stared at him and now, he clearly saw the scar on her face. His eyes widened in worry and shock. “What happened to you?” He asked her, and she chuckled nervously as she turned away from him.
“It’s nothing.” She told him, and he held on to her as she turned to him now.
“We’re friends, aren’t we? You’re to trust me with everything, right? Tell me, Kathryn. What’s wrong? What happened to you?” He asked her, and she stared away from him.
It was crystal clear to him that she didn’t want to look at him and at that moment, he became even more worried about her. “Tell me, what has happened to you?” He asked her as he noticed tears start to well in her eyes.
“I said I’m fine; don’t worry about me.” She told him but he still wasn’t having it: something was wrong with her, and he could see it in her eyes.
“You can trust me with anything, Kathryn. Just tell me, and trust me, I’ll do my best to help. What’s wrong?” He asked her, and she turned to stare at him and this time, tears streamed down her cheeks even more freely.
“I actually do need to talk to you about something.” She told him, and he smiled as he put his hand to her face, slowly wiping her tears off.
“Tell me, what do you want to talk to me about?” He asked her, and she took in a deep inhale before speaking.
“I think it’s time I moved out of this house.” She said, and he staggered back in shock.
Meanwhile, from a corner, a certain man was watching them. He smiled to himself, “you’re doing a great job, Kathryn.”
