Chapter 15: Good Person

Book:My Arrogant Alpha Published:2024-6-2

Vanessa’s P. O. V
I’m not sure why I’m so tired today. I don’t want to go to work, but I don’t have a choice. I must be a hardworking employee, and my goal is to advance in the company so that my salary will rise. Blake was filling out paperwork when I arrived at our office.
“Good morning, Vanessa. What’s wrong with you today? You look tired or something. Are you okay?” Blake inquired, his voice worried.
I sat next to him. “I’m fine. Maybe I’m just tired, but I’m fine.”
Despite the fact that my body is refusing to work, I begin to file my paperwork. I suppose it’s because I cleaned the apartment thoroughly. I suddenly considered leaving the apartment where I had previously resided. I always miss my Aunt Bia when I’m there. Maybe if I move to another apartment, it will be a new beginning for me to live a happy life even if I am alone.
When Zeux called, I was in the middle of filing paperwork. I stood up, irritated, and reallu refused to go to his office but I can’t. I noticed him reading. When he saw me, he looked at me with a smile in his face.
“What do you require from me?” I inquired.
He sighed and looked me in the eyes. “All I want to do is apologize to my employee.”
I made fun of him. “Why are you apologizing to me and not to the employee you want to fire?” I question him. I don’t care if he’s my boss. It’s fine if he wants to fire me.
“Actually, I didn’t fire her, and I finished apologizing to her earlier; in fact, I raised her position because I want you to be happy, not angry with me.”
I smirked. What’s the matter with this man? Why does he want me to be happy and why is he flaunting himself in front of me? Is he atypical? He is not required to do so because I am unconcerned. But why is he doing this? Is this a method of flirting with me? Was he thinking of flirting with me? He used to be a natural flirt.
“So that’s good. At the very least, you understand how to treat your employees with respect. Because it’s not right to just fire them. Being a good boss isn’t difficult. You can try it once in a while.”
I noticed him smile. What’s the deal with this guy? With this serious situation, did he just smile? I didn’t say anything stupid or funny, but he kept smiling. He must be unusual.
“I’m amazed at you. You’re the only one who talks to me like that. I mean, you just stand there casually talking to me as if I’m not your boss.”
I smirked. “Well… I used to respect my boss because they are kind to others. They are kind to their employees, so we talk to them with respect and a pleasing attitude. But with you, I don’t think I can talk to you like that because you’re so arrogant. You look down on your employees. Why are you like that? We’re all humans here, but you act like a god or something. What a bullsh*t.”
“Okay, then. I’m sorry. I guess I need to change my attitude. I will do my best to be a good boss for all of you, and by the way, thank you for your words. I understand why you are acting that way towards me.”
I locked my gaze on him. “Remember, Sir. You can’t be as rich as you are now without your employees. They work for you so you can earn a lot of money. You can’t manage and grow your company without employees who will work for you. You can’t be alone, so be good to us.”
He gives a nod. “Yes, I understand. By the way, would you like some tea with me?”
My head shook. “No, I’m not interested in tea.”
“Perhaps we can eat together? I just want to be close to you.”
“Why?”
He breathes out. “Because I learned something from you, like how to be a good person. You’re the only one who teaches me like that, and you’re different from the other girls I’ve met. You never seduced me or anything, but you educated me, and I’m very grateful.”
My rage just faded away. Did he mean what he said? Is he truly grateful for what I’m telling him? Is he not flirting with me? If that is the case, I’m such a fool to think he’s flirting with me. Perhaps he truly desires to be a good person. He is right. I overheard several girls attempting to seduce him. That is not me. Even though he is attractive, I will not seduce him. All I need is a high salary and the opportunity to become wealthy on my own someday.
But I still don’t fully trust him. I need to make sure he wants to be near me because I’m teaching him to be a good person. Because he could be acting, so I must be alert. Boys are boys. They will pretend to be good at first, but then they will flirt with you. As a result, I must defend myself against this playboy. Yes, he is, and I know it.
“Well, that’s good to hear, when do you want me to come over for tea?”
His eyes widened, as if he was pleased with what I had said. “Really? Did you just want to have tea with me? If you don’t want tea, we can eat whatever you want.”
My brow furrowed. Did he actually say that? Is it true that I can eat whatever I want? If this is true, I will order delicious and expensive food that I have been dying to try. I gave him a friendly smile.
“Well then, you already said I can eat whatever I want, so I’m going to be honest with you. I’m going to order a lot of food at a high price, is that okay with you?”
He simply laughed and then touched his nape. “You’re truly incredible. It’s fine with me, that’s nothing. Anything you want, I’ll order it for you.”
I grin. “Thank you, Sir. You’re becoming slightly more kind right now, just slightly,” I laughed softly.
He raises his brows and smiles at me. “Why is it slight?”
“Because you’re still an arrogant boss. A bad boss, perhaps? Sorry for the term, but that’s what it is.”
He laughed loudly and shook his head. “You really made me laugh, and I like it. Whatever you call or describe me is fine with me, but I will promise you that I will do my best to become a better person for you.”
My face turned disgusted. What exactly is he saying? Will you become a better person for me? Why me? I’m not a significant figure in his life. I’m just one of his employees. This man is truly bizarre. I have a creepy feeling about him.
“Why me? Perhaps you misspoke. You must be a better person with all of us, not just me, Sir. Be fair to others.”
He gave me a shy smile after tapping his forehead. “You are right, and I apologize if I said it incorrectly. I will become a good person to all of you.”
“All right, Sir. If you have nothing to say to me, I must depart. I have a lot of paperwork to file. See you later.”
He grinned. “Yes, Vanessa, you may leave.”
“Welcome, Sir,” I said as I walked out to his office.
When I finally make it out to his office, I exhale. I reach for my chest. My heart was racing for no apparent reason. Perhaps because I’m speaking to Zeus? My head barely moves. No. My heart isn’t racing because of him. Perhaps my heart rate is abnormal for the time being. Zeus will never be held responsible.
Never.
