“Huh?” Emily widened her eyes.
Her bag was in the CEO’s closet. She gritted her teeth uneasily, how did she even get to her room last night?- she scratched the back of her head, she remembered she slept off in the closet.
Emily bit her lip and walked out of her room. She knocked on Joel’s door and rushed in.
Joel stared intently at the bag on one of the hangers through the mirror in his closet as he knotted his tie.
The girl had definitely left it there the previous night.
“CEO Joel…”
He furrowed his brows as he heard his name being called.
“CEO Joel,”
Joel twitched his lips, he knew who was calling him and he knew she was there for the bag.
“CEO Joel, are you in there?” Emily pouted her lips as she stood right outside the CEO’s closet.
“Wae?” Joel scowled coldly as he walked towards her.
“Why are you shouting early in the morning?” He asked irritatedly as he stood before her.
“Annyeonghaseyo!” Emily bowed.
Joel rolled his eyes.
“I left my bag in there.” Emily bit on her lower lip uneasily.
“In where?” Joel scratched his ear as he grimaced slightly.
“In the closet.” Emily swallowed.
“There is no bag here.” Joel shrugged his shoulders.
“Isseo..” Emily pouted.
(A/N: isseo means there is/exists)
“Ande.” Joel gazed at her unwaveringly.
“Hajiman,” he paused.
“You can check.” He moved out of the way to the left.
“Kamsahamnida.” Emily bowed and rushed into the closet.
She searched every nook and cranny of the closet but didn’t find the bag.
“Ahhh…” Emily whined.
She was getting late for work.
“Mwo, what’s wrong?” Joel tilted his head to the left, as he stared at the confused girl before him.
“I can’t find it…” Emily whined.
“Ahhh-bianhae” Joel twitched up his mouth.
“Ahhh… Eotteoke, huh? huh?” Emily looked up at the CEO.
“You are delaying me, I need to get going.” Joel took a peek at the silver wristwatch on his wrist.
“…” Emily scratched her head in frustration.
Her car key was in that bag, the money she had left too-and the debit card too-ahhh, eotteoke? She danced around uneasily.
Something flashed through her eyes and she stared at the CEO.
“Wae?.. why are you looking at me like you are going to swallow me?” Joel puckered his lips.
“CEO Joel please can I ride with you?.. huh huh?” Emily pouted her mouth.
Joel had a glint of happiness in his eyes as he stared at Emily.
“Cheolte!” He turned around and walked out of the closet.
“CEO Joel, jebal…” Emily trailed after him quickly.
Joel rolled his eyes and turned around to face her.
“Arasso.” He sighed.
“Awwn; kumawo!” Emily jumped on him giddily.
Joel froze for a few seconds as his heartbeat increased its pace.
“I’ll make it up to you.” Emily grinned and skipped away.
Joel blinked his eyes rapidly as he stared at nothing in particular. Slowly, he placed his right hand on his chest to feel his heartbeat… what the fuck was wrong with his heart?… he slapped his chest and carried his laptop on the bed.
As soon as the CEO stepped out of his room, Emily trailed after him as he climbed down the stairs.
As soon as they were sitting in the car the CEO was riding to the office, the driver drove out of the villa.
“The Industry.” Joel muttered.
Emily looked around.
“Errr, are you talking to me?” She looked up at Joel.
“The person I’m talking to understands already.” Joel groaned.
“Huh? I didn’t understand anything.” Emily blinked.
“Yaaaiisshhhh! I wasn’t talking to you” Joel almost smashed his phone.
“Ahhh…” Emily shuddered.
“Yah! Why did you yell?!” She pouted.
“Just stop talking.” Joel dismissed.
“And what if I don’t?” Emily sneered.
“I’ll push you out of the car and you’ll walk to the industry,” Joel stated coldly.
Emily felt chills down her spine.
She thought it through; shutting her mouth or legging it to the industry?
She decided to shut her mouth-that was better.
Joel smirked as he watched her silently.
But why did she look lean? He frowned.
“You didn’t eat this morning, did you?” He asked.
“Huh? na?” Emily arched up her brows.
“Ani, na!” He rolled his eyes.
“Ahhh, I didn’t.” She let out a small smile.
“Why?” Joel asked.
“….” Emily twitched her lips.
He fluttered his eyes as he stared at her.
“The restaurant.” He stated to the driver, his eyes on Emily.
“Nde?” Emily stared at him in bewilderment.
“Restaurant? No. I’m late for work.” She shook her head.
Joel heaved a sigh and turned his head. He looked out through the tinted window.
“If you are having a hard time in the industry, you can quit.” He said.
“Aniii, I’ll just endure till the end.” Emily smiled.
Joel nodded his head.
As soon as they reached EWEI, the driver parked right outside the broadcasting building. Emily hastily stepped out of the car and waved her hand till the car was out of sight. She turned around and walked into the building.
???★★★???★★???★★★???
Emily was beginning to get well known in the entertainment industry and in general. She had the talent no doubt and she was best at what she did.
Throughout that morning, after the CEO had dropped her, she and Maria had kept going from one location to another due to her tight schedule.
“Ahhh. I’m hungryyy…” Emily pouted as she slumped on one of the chairs in her manager’s office immediately they entered.
“Unnie do you want me to get you something to eat?” Min Ah smiled as she stood behind.
“Huh?.. can you?” Emily turned and looked up at her.
“Nde. Just tell me what you want…” Min Ah nodded her head.
“Ahhhh…” Emily grinned.
They heard a knock on the door and Min Ah hastily opened the door.
One of the security officers that worked in EWEI stepped in and bowed respectfully.
“What is it?” Maria asked as she stared at the officer suspiciously.
“There is a van downstairs waiting for Miss Emily..” the officer spoke up.
“Wae?… is anything wrong?” Maria raised her brows.
“Animnida. The men said they wanted to see Miss Emily.” the office bowed his head slightly.
“Men?.. what men?” Emily asked in bewilderment.
“They won’t talk ma’am.” the officer replied calmly.
Emily and Maria exchanged suspicious looks.
“Okay. We’ll be down in a minute.” Maria sighed.
The security officer bobbed his head and walked out of the office.
Maria and Emily stared at each other for a while…
“Kaja.” Maria stood up on her feet.
Emily stood up on her feet and walked beside her manager out of the office while Min Ah trailed after them.
On getting to the main entrance of the broadcasting industry, Emily furrowed her brows. People were already gathered around the van, even people from the music and movie industries gathered around.
“Annyeonghaseyo.” Emily bobbed her head at the man standing before her.
It was quite surprising to her that the man looked familiar to her. There were five men dressed in black who Emily considered to be the man’s guards standing right behind him.
“Annyeonghaseyo Miss Emily.” the man bowed and his guards bowed too.
“My name is Brandon Lee and I’m here to cook whichever dish you want.” Brandon grinned.
At first, Emily was dumbfounded.
BRANDON LEE?! The best chef in the country?
Maybe she didn’t hear well.
Gasps and whispers filled the air:
“I said it. It’s really Brandon!”
“Oh my Gawd, never in my life have I thought I’d ever meet him.”
“He’s fifty but he looks twenty!”
“He’s so hot!”
Everyone around had something to say.
“Mbo? Pardon me, sir, but I didn’t hear you correctly.” Emily swallowed uneasily.
“I’ve been ordered here to cook any dish you want milady.” Brandon smiled.
“Mbo!!!”
“Did you hear that?!”
“He’s here to cook for her?!”
“Unbelievable!”
Emily gulped as she looked around, so she wasn’t the only one that found it unbelievable.
“You are here to cook for me? On who’s permission, if I may ask?” She stared at him bewilderedly.
“That, I do not know, Miss. I was only instructed to cook for you, and, leave.” Brandon smiled.
“….” Emily blinked dumbfoundedly.
Was she dreaming? The best chef in the whole country was there to cook for her?
She turned back and stared at Maria and Min Ah who were both, also, still in trance.
Emily swallowed again for the umpteenth time and turned back to look at Brandon.
“So miss, what will you like me to cook?” Brandon asked with his broad smile.
“Huh?” She looked startled.
Was he really asking her what she would like him to cook? For her? Unbelievable!
“Erm… er… ehm… I don’t know what to say, Mr. Brandon,” Emily let out a soft chuckle.
“I trust you to cook a delicious meal for my manager, my personal assistant, and me.” She grinned.
“Very well, then.” Brandon bowed his head.
“The three of you can come up pretty ladies don’t stay too long in the sun.” He smiled and climbed up the van.
Emily, her manager, her personal assistant giggled as they climbed up the van.
“You can sit on the chairs until the meal is ready.” Brandon pointed at three chairs in a corner in the van.
The trio bowed and took their sit on the chairs.
Emily watched in awe as the chef boiled glass noodles, drained the noodles, and mixed the noodles with stir-fried spinach, onions, carrots, mushrooms, and beef.
She knew what he had just prepared within a few minutes, Japchae! (Glass noodles with sautéed vegetables)
“Uwa!” Emily wowed.
“Mr. Brandon you are such an expert!” She complimented him.
“Ah, thank you, Miss Emily.” Brandon smiled as he dished the meal in three dishes.
He handed the dishes over to the trio respectively.
Everyone around watched in awe.. they all wished they were the ones eating the meal as they stood in the scorching sun.
“Huh” Min Ah grinned happily as she ate her meal.
She was extremely happy she was Emily’s personal assistant.
